I am a completely satisfied customer. After an audit in our home that was renovated in 2006, we realized that we needed to replace a furnace and A/C compressor-in different zones in our home. I did a fair amount of research, I called several companies and received several quotes. HVAC unlimited sent Dylan to my home. I was busy and could not meet with him for the first 5 minutes that he was in my basement. In that time he looked at a furnace that was recently installed and found a (minor) problem that I didn't even know that I had. He is extremely knowledgeable as a salesperson with his tech installation background and provided several options to me. Frankly, I think that I put him through a few more paces than might have been reasonable. He was totally patient and professional during the entire process. The quote was competitive with the others that I had received. An HVAC professional told me ""Go with your gut, Bill."" I did when I chose HVAC Unlimited.

Today, Daniel and his crew including Tre, Jose and Louis came to install the furnace upstairs and compressor outside. They were completely professional, easy to work with, respectful. They did an absolutely excellent job. Before leaving, Daniel took me upstairs to show me what they had done. The work was done cleanly, they worked meticulously. Two quick anecdotes from today: 1. One of the techs told me ""We take pride in our work."" When is the last time you heard a technician say that to you? 2. The new furnace is a high efficiency unit and so air intake and exhaust hoses needed to be installed upstairs. They were dirty and the tech spent a minute or two wiping them down before bringing them into my house. Wow. I have come to realize that the small stuff represents the quality of a person's work. I am impressed.

There is some additional minor work to be completed, likely next week. I'll update the review then.


Here is the update. Daniel and his assistants came back to my house twice. Once to install new bathroom vent fans, several of them did not have flappers and so cold air was blowing into the rooms 24/7. I bought the fans along with their recommendation and the install was done extremely professionally. Today they finished by repairing a furnace that wasn't installed correctly by another company a year ago. They saw what I frankly did not recognize. And then Daniel went up on the roof to seal a leak around a vent tube that was allowing rain water in.

I recommend this company without any reservation. Their prices are fair, they communicate, they show you everything after they've finished. I had the chance to ask all of my questions and have them answered fully.

I've had several HVAC Inspections over the years, but none as thorough as the one Norberto recently performed on my system. He was on time, personable, knowledgeable and very thorough. I have no idea what the other HVAC technicans had been doing...obviously bamboozling me! After that visit, I had an issue with my master bedroom sink. I called again and a plumber was onsite based on my availability. It took him all of 10 minutes to fix my problem. I was very satisifed with both services. I will never leave HVAC & Plumbing Unlimited!

A bunch of amateurs work here. I tried them twice, each time to top off the Freon/ R-22 for my old HVAC. I am not ready to replace it yet. Each time they've come out, they barely put enough Freon to make a difference. I think they just don't know how to top it right. The first guy was too concerned about his truck getting towed and rushed. I gave them another chance a few months later and the second guy came with some high school looking trainee. The second guy who came didn't even use an extender but hand held it because he thinks it's less cluttered for my small space. Well he barely put any in because my HVAC was still not cool enough. It wasn't until I went with a different company that someone legitimately knew how to top it correctly. Avoid HVAC Unlimited..

This company was recommended by my parents and I had used them to replace a hot water heater. I moved to a new apartment and the AC stopped working. I managed to fix it myself but since my appointment had been scheduled I kept it. The guy told me that my AC was low on Freon and charged me $1k to add more Freon. A month later, I went to change the filter in my HVAC system since you are supposed to replace them monthly. It turns out the HVAC repair man had never put the filter back in after he had been examining the unit. So my AC had been running without a filter for the past month. I guess he was trying to break my AC so that I'd pay him some more money for a new unit. Terrible business practice.

I live in Alex Va, I dont know why it says California. About a year ago, Randy from hvac came to my house to help me remove a bunch of gas pipe, what a great guy, excellent service. Recently i installed 3 gas lamps on the outside of my house. I used 1/4 pipe as per the manufacture and ran all the pipe to meet at one location in my basement. At this point in the project all i needed was a plumber to come over and hook the three lines together and tap into the gas line. Hvac sent some rude redneck over to quote me, what a joke, the guy refused to look me in the eye and kept turning his back to me looking at other things while he mumbled his answers to me, it was almost as if the guy was casing the joint. Anyways the company insisted that i must use 3/4 inch pipe instead of 1/4 pipe and they gave me several quotes for thousands of $$ to simply put in three seperate valves to shut off the gas to each. Long story short i became quite frustrated with them coming to my house several times to give me inflated quotes to do a simple job. Finally I called another company, they came over, quick quote for $650 to button the three gas lines together, it took them about an hour and a half to do the whole job instead of the 6 hours hvac was quoting between two and three thousand $. I pulled out all of the 1/4 inch pipe and replaced it with 3/4 pipe which is far as i have learned from others was totally not necessary, my time and labor cost me a few extra thousand and then hvac wanted to over charge me by a few more thousand. What a disappointment hvac turned out to be on this job. I wish they had simply sent over Randy which is who i asked for. Im not calling them again.

I contacted this company because of the great reviews to have my system installed. I had Dylan come to give me an estimate. Very nice guy and imformative on the equiptment. I wasnt happy that he spent over 90 minutes talking and putting estimate in my kitchen table. We couldnt even eat dinner until after 7:30 which is an hour later than normal. I wouldnt mind if the prices he showed me was reasonable. I gotten price for same equiptment for more than 3k less. If you were to go with this company, I suggest scheduling early or letting them know that you have a prior commitment.
