Ripping off hardworking homeowners!!!!
Gave us a $1,500 quote MORE than another local company for our air conditioning blower motor! We were out the $79 quote, but much rather that than paying $1500!!!! Insanely priced!!!! A whole new air unit doesn't cost much more!!! These people are nuts!!!!!

The Horizon tech that gave us the estimate said ""I'm not gonna lie, u have a fancy unit in there, prob gonna b expensive."" The second estimate tech said, ""no fancier than anyone else's.""

Had a great experience - late night visit to the house to repair a time sensitive problem. Problem was diagnosed and repaired in short order- issue was explained and the tech was excellent. Office communication was outstanding and very helpful. Not a grumble to be had - Highly recommended.

I had a burned-out blower motor on an American Standard unit that had been working properly until the motor failed, and called Horizon for the repair. The technician came as scheduled, then proceeded to do a complete system check, opened up the A-coil chamber, checked the controls and thermostat, etc., criticizing almost everything about the system and its installation, which had been done by a local firm about 10 years ago and had worked flawlessly through the seasons without service issues. After completing that and finding nothing else wrong, he gave me an estimate of $1057 to replace the motor and capacitor and $1200+ for a service contract. I refused further service and paid the service call minimum of about $80. I then called the original installing company, who came within a few hours and replaced the motor with an original equipment motor and capacitor. It was still expensive at about $700, including about an hour for the driver to go to the motor supplier for the proper system components, but there was no high-pressure sales talk--just workman-like behavior.

Best part of the Horizon service? The technician put on shoe covers and didn't swear at me. Other than that, pretty much a loss. If I want a high-pressure sales talk for home services I don't need, I know where to go.

I have used Horizon Services for my AC and Heater repairs. They did the job and at a fair cost. My wife wanted to replace our Stainless Steel kitchen sink with a cast iron enamel unit with a new facet. I purchased all of the parts required, sink, strainer, sealant, etc as I was going to do it myself. However, my wife wanted Horizon to do the work. I set up an appointment for Tuesday 18-July. They told me they will come between 4 and 8; this is how they get over on the ""on time"" promises.

""Dom"" came to do the work for us. He looked at the sink and other items. I know when he looked at the cast sink, I was in trouble. He checked out the existing sink and started to tell me how high the cost would be, and he does not make the pricing. He also said he quoted a replacement hot water heater across the street and when he gave the price he felt the customer was going to have a heart attack. He gave me a quote to install the sink with not parts of -----$682.00. I almost fell over. I thanked him for his time and showed him the door.
Not sure what has happened to Horizon, but it's not good. I have other plumbing and heating needs that I was going to have them look at, but now no way.

Is this the way Horizon is now or just this employee who did not want to lift a cast iron sink at 6:30pm?

A technician came to my home last month to take care of two issues - he replaced a broken drain stopper in my bathroom sink and he also replaced a showerhead with one that provided better water pressure. Regarding the showerhead, I learned after the fact that there were actually two options I could've chosen from but for some reason the installer didn't advise me of this at the time, so they needed to return days later to install the other option which it turns out was actually better at the same price.

From the standpoint of calling in for customer service, they seem to have a lot of layers of staff because there was a lot of transferring me to various departments, so be prepared for some frustration.

On a positive note, their techs appear knowledgeable and show respect for your home by putting on disposable slippers before entering.

I'm on the fence about contacting them in the future.

Monday Sean came to our home and gave us an estimate. We decided to go with Horizon services. Yesterday, Wednesday, Brian and Adam came out and did the job.


Horizon Services is where it's at!! Yesterday they replaced our home heater and air conditioner. Brian and Adam arrived at 8 AM and left at 5 PM. They put all the metal stuff outside and cleaned all the areas where they worked. Both Ron and I are impressed by the professionalism of these two young men, by their commitment to the job i.e., work ethic, and their competence . Thank you guys, and thank you Horizon Services. We will be in contact. Oh, we also got a programmable thermostat that Adam taught us to correctly operate! (Priceless)

By far the worst company to call for heater repair. They will rip you apart. Heater stopped working around 7pm and all local companies were closed by then so called horizon. Also, one friend recommend it. They came in about 2.5 hours. The guys tells me that he will replace the small ignition switch and it will fix it. I asked him I want to keep the box of the new ignition that he is installing. He was too hesitant to give it to me and in next few minutes he put that in his car, i asked again and he said he forgot and will give it in end and once payment done in full he tried to sneak out but i asked again and got the cover of ignition switch. I research and found out that it costs $20 for that and they charge me $650 for that. Called them and they tells me everytime that someone will call me back and no one did. Learned the lesson.. NEVER EVER HORIZON AGAIN.

It's been a few years since my first experience with Horizon, but now as I'm getting ready to replace my HVAC unit in a new home and going through the process again, I feel compelled to remind as many people as I can of what terrible company this is.

For the love of God please choose any other HVAC company on the East coast for quote on an install of a replacement system for your home. The whole experience was high pressure and worse than buying a used car. Absolutely atrocious sales tactics. How many times do you have to come to my house to give me a price?

I cannot help but cringe at the misinformed, vulnerable potential clients this place preys upon. Do yourself a favor and shop around. They wanted to charge me over $11K for a Lennox heat pump (swap out of an existing unit) on a 1500 sf town home, which is only a 2.5 ton unit! Get outta here! Made the mistake of calling them once, and will never, never, NEVER make that mistake again.

I have to agree with many of the other reviewers. The service they did was reasonable for the price and we knew we were going to have to replace the A/C unit. Their estimate was $900 dollar more than most of the other quotes I got. A big difference when replacing just a 2-ton air conditioner. I would NOT recommend them for your big projects.
