I have had a similar experience to some of the reviewers below, including Jeff R. We just moved into this place and called them to transfer the policy to our name. They told us as long as we called regarding any problem AFTER 10 days (from signing up), the service would be covered. So, we paid and gave them a call 2 weeks later because we discovered an issue after the move. A technician came out, and claimed it was a ""pre-existing condition"" when we knew it had not been there before, and said we had to pay for the part, which was about $90.00. He insisted we would only be paying for the part and he would eat up the cost of the labor as that was their ""policy"". Since our AC system wasn't working and it is summertime, we decided we would pay for the part and then be reimbursed once the miscommunication was resolved. THIS morning, we received a call saying we would be responsible for BOTH labor ($165) + part ($90) + tax. This is a fraud and we will be cancelling our membership immediately.
If I could leave negative stars I most certainly would. I put a service request in 4-22-18 for a water line leak in my yard. Plumber came out a week later and stated was popped under the house and in the yard will need to do a full replacement. My service was approved for a full replacement and re-route one week later. Plumber was a little behind on calls, understandable it is spring time! Plumber just came out today and started work, has since dug two giant holes in my yard that are FULL of water. Plumber says seems like the water is leaking from under the house will need to call to confirm repair. Plumber says we have to leave site homeserve is denying the job and will not pay. SOOOO, now my water is shutoff, I have two giant holes in my yard, and its supposed to storm and rain most of the week. Yes, I do have interior and exterior coverage, so that is not the issue. No, I have not made any service calls this year either than this one! Please, please, please do not use this company for your water line repairs it is simply not worth the wasted time. Spoke to SUPERVISOR NICOLE this morning stated we had coverage and work would resume. Received a phone call two hours later from a customer rep stating no coverage job not complete. This company operates like a chicken with its head cutoff! Don't be me, find alternative means to protect your investment.......

Abu R.- not bad after all, I had to make few calls to set up the appointment, but technician came according to schedule and fixed the issue quickly.
Under contract, routine tune-up of HVAC. Technician created flood by opening unrelated outdoor water valve, discovered by neighbor 4 days later. While perhaps an honest error, their service center refuses to connect a service tech on the phone and has a 24-48 hour callback policy. HORRIBLE CHOICE!!!
Update....now it is Tuesday. The piece we need replaced still isn't in and I was told it won't be coming in until MAYBE tomorrow. They have no answers for me and I don't know why this is taking a week. No heat or hot water.
Apparently homeserve monitors yelp. A rep did contact me. My request was the name and number of a person in management who could discuss their repeated failures to show up for my A/C tuneup. Sadly, that person failed to return my call as well. Gave up.
Recently received a bill to re-up with HomeServe for the next year. With the passage of time, decided to give them one last chance to redeem themselves on the tuneup. If they are not here by 12:00 (for any reason), I'm done with them forever. Update to follow.
This 'company' sends out form letters to unsuspecting people thanking you for signing up for their serve (even though they never did). They inform you that you will be automatically renewed (and charged) for their services. You then call their number and here their scam.
Helene V.I had a carbon monoxide scare the night of the most recent blizzard in my home so we shut down the heating system and called HomeServe .They came as soon as they could the next day (nice and early) Paul Kenny one of the sales managers came by to give me an estimate on the repair
They surveyed the area that needed to be repaired and were here the next day with the materials , New boiler and piping
It was a very complicated repair to say the least
Mike got here at 9:00am and began draining the old boiler
The other guys came soon afterwards
I remember Dan .... he was very nice
He was here with another guy fixing everything until 9:00 pm
I can't say enough ! These guys were professional and they got the job done
It was a very complicated repair and worth every penny
They did a great job and now we have heat and we don't have to worry about carbon monoxide poisoning
Thank you guys
I would recommend !!!!
I left a really nasty review because the first technician left things disconnected after installing new parts and then took off leaving an elderly woman without heat. But thanks to Jay from Melrose who jumped at the chance to help someone after his shift was over to Drive 40 minutes to fix someone else's error she has heat! So great job responding to my complaint and there aren't enough stars to give Jay for coming out and fixing the issue! We will chalk the first bad experience up to growing pains and see where we go from here! No one is perfect but they did their best to rectify their mistake. And that's all anyone can ask!
Update: We heard from Travis and James who finally sent out a plumber. It took 30 hours, however the Plumber was amazing. The man was professional, knowledgeable and honest. He did fix the problem and states he will return for follow up visit. I feel Travis and James from Home Serve understand the severity of the problem they caused and we are confident it will not happen again!
The plumber was from Lanzo Plumbing and Sewer contracting in Hackensack NJ. They were excellant!!!!!
