I had a """"gold"""" service agreement with Home-Tech which should provide really speedy service. It doesn't. The air conditioner went out Saturday, December 26th, five minutes after their office closed (2:05 pm). So we left a message. It qualified for emergency service because the outside temp was over 85 degrees. We got a guy out the next day, Sunday, December 27th, who didn't have the part he needed and said it could be a week. We got the service done Monday afternoon, December 28th. That's two full days without air conditioning. Then, Wednesday, December 30th, the dryer decides not to heat anymore. I call and it's well within their timeframe. The rude woman on the phone tells me it will be next week before they can get someone out because, you know, Friday is a holiday. I asked her what I'm supposed to do until next week. She said, since my washer is working, I could hang my clothes up to dry. Really? Is it 1957? I live in a condo, and I guarantee there is no place I could (or would) put up a clothesline. I can't go to the laundromat (ick) because I broke my tailbone and can't carry heavy baskets of wet clothes and would never use laundromat washers because I can't triple rinse my clothes (hubby and I both have contact allergies). She doesn't care and starts to go off on me. I tell her I refuse to argue with her and ask what time she can get someone out here. She says Monday, January 4th, and they will call after 8:00 to tell me what time (could be anytime up until 5 pm). Fine. So I have to call them Monday because I got no call and it was 9:10 a.m. She said he would be out between noon and 3. The guy who came out was okay, not particularly friendly, just wanted to do his thing. He did take his shoes off and I appreciated that. He worked on the dryer for about 40 minutes or so and told me it needs a part he doesn't have. Says he put in a request and when it comes in, they will call. Got tired of waiting for them to call me, so I called Thursday, January 7th, for information. Left a message, since the woman I need to speak with was away from her desk. She called me back and said soonest they could get someone out was the following Wednesday, January 13th. I asked her how she could make an appointment since I hadn't gotten a call to tell me anything about the part. She said that the part """"just came in"""" and she was going to call me if I hadn't called her. January 13th has come and gone, part tech installed doesn't fix the dryer, so back to earliest appointment, which is January 18th. It got fixed after I had left for a month to visit my daughter in Ohio. Needless to say, I won't be renewing my yearly contract at the end of the month. There is no sense of urgency with this company, no customer service skills and no apologies for taking for fricking ever to fix my dryer. I've already signed up with Choice Home Warranty - better price, better coverage and they are the #1 rated home warranty company around.

Horrible experience; thought I was calling a local business in Lakewood Ranch/Bradenton Fl, got a Ft Myers person who couldn't take info and I had to spell where I lived 5x; tech came out same day.Had to order part ... would fix dryer 12/30...man from office called to give us the cost,& said the part was in....the next day he called back to ask if we wanted the dryer fixed; should have canceled then. Several phone calls back & forth;, the part didn't arrive until 1/6 and still no dryer fixed...2 plus weeks had gone by...No fast service...no service at all!!!! The """"sec"""" used the """"I am just a sec"""" to the point that we didn't even want to deal with her any more!!!!

They used to be good. We bought the highest level of service agreement. But currently, they send new, untrained techs, they order parts, but forget to call the customer to tell them it's in, they get really nasty with horrible abusive phone manners, they change your appointment time without agreement from you and if you're not there - oh well. They break your appliance and say they will call to resolve the issue, but don't. You can not bypass their nastiness by making the appointment on line because their website is always down. You call to speak to someone about the issues, and they don't listen. They don't listen = we don't write checks! Still without a working appliance and looking for a new contract service.

They gave me a quote of $131 to fix an old dryer. It just needed a belt. They didn't have the belt so they ordered it. Not my fault.... I was up North or I would have fixed it myself. They charged me for a service call $99 said I wouldn't be charged again for that. But when they returned they did $131 I ended up paying $230 to fix a $18 belt on a 12 y/o dryer. I can get a new one for $299 I called them 3 times before getting a return call. The wouldn't do anything but a $30 credit. They rip of seniors and snowbirds. Go eleswhere

What about 2-4pm don't they understand? No phone call from them. When I finally called, I got an attitude when I asked when I could expect the tech. I guess when you get the money up front you're no longer accountable to your customer

These people need to be investigated. Seems like the same story over an over when you read the reviews. We were lied to as well and told that we would have it fixed in two days and two days later we called to Follow up. Were told that the parts were on order. Later that afternoon someone called to say it would cost way more than what we were told and that they need a cc to order the parts. Lol. Run away from these folks. They are criminal. We live Punta Gorda and we were for sure services if that's what u call it by these ppl.

I just had a technician at my home to trouble shoot a refrigerator problem. When i made the appointment i was very specific with the agent about charges. They told me it would cost $99 for the visit plus parts should i do the repair. When the technician arrived he informed me that the fee is $99 for 15 minutes and $35 for every 15 minutes after plus the cost of the repair. This is classic bait and switch approach! buyer beware!!!!!!

Service with a smile! Drove 45 mins to showroom and spoke with the head of service. We were impressed. All I wanted was a fridge with ice and water that is dispensed on the outside of the door from a company company which stood behind its product. We were guaranteed that. HOWEVER, we did not mention we wanted cold water. We live in Florida. Water the temperature of spit is not too attractive. We got a service tech to come out, who called his boss, the same man we had spoken with in person. who, incidentally has the same model we bought from him. Turns out there is nothing he or we can do about it. NO, I would not buy from this company again.

SCAM ALERT. i was told it was $99 for him to come out. They did NOT say it was $99 for first 15 minutes and then $35 each additional 15 minutes. That's $204 for the first hour and $140 for each additional hour. Our refrigerator just was not very cold. He spent first 10 minutes putting the serial number in his tablet to tell me it was 6 years old. Then said it would be $200-$300 just to tell me what was wrong. I sent him to the door. I just paid $99 for him to open the door and get some water out of it. SCAMMED.

Home tech ... installed a new A/C unit and air handler. I have had issues with the AC not working from the second month after installation!! It's supposed to be under warranty . Trying to get someone out to my home to honor the repairs is hideous!!! It's like pulling teeth !! Plus my air handler is not copper piping ! Apparently it's the cheapest aluminum piping could you can get ! Which has caused me nothing but a headache since day one !! Don't use them for any air conditioning purchases!
