This operation is highly unethical. I needed a 30 gal water heater replaced. The heater is under warranty. The wanted to replace the expansion tank for $87, said I need to pay for a permit for $107, pay for warranty service for $75. Then wanted another $650 to actually do the work. My local maintenance person did the job for half the price including a $50 warranty fee and rebuilding the door do the new tank would fit. Do not hire these guys.

My tech was Henry and he couldn't have been more helpful and more informative. He was very helpful and I would highly recommend him. I normally don't post reviews but as a stay at home mom he definitely made me feel comfortable.

They gave me a quote of $131 to fix an old dryer. It just needed a belt. They didn't have the belt so they ordered it. Not my fault.... I was up North or I would have fixed it myself. They charged me for a service call $99 said I wouldn't be charged again for that. But when they returned they did $131 I ended up paying $230 to fix a $18 belt on a 12 y/o dryer. I can get a new one for $299 I called them 3 times before getting a return call. The wouldn't do anything but a $30 credit. They rip of seniors and snowbirds. Go eleswhere

My home's air-conditioning unit was working fine, but I wanted a more efficient unit. Home Tech recommended and sold me a Trane unit. Unfortunately, my house frequently heats up because the drain lines clog up causing the unit to shut down and/or flood and damage my ceiling. Home Tech acknowledges that a problem exists and this is not an ideal situation Solutions offered by Home Tech are: * wait for the air-conditioner to stop working and then wait for a repairman to fix it * schedule frequent inspections far beyond what was needed for my old air conditioner. Conveniently for Home Tech, these added visits are not covered by the normal contract and have added cost for me. * contact Trane to request a fix for my unit. I thought that finding the fix should be the responsibility of the service company. Evidently, Home Tech thinks that it is the client's responsibility. Does Home Tech really think that a customer will understand a recommendation from Trane? Consider a scenario where you have a new car that is under warranty and without warning breaks down. Then the dealer advises you to: * wait for the car to break down, then call for a tow truck to take the car to a dealer, who cannot fix it. * schedule periodic inspections which will get low priority because they are not yet a problem * contact the manufacturer to research a fix Where these two conditions are different is that the customer paid a hefty fee for service from Home Tech for the air conditioning unit.

Dave came out today to perform annual service on the A/C and check out a problem with my washer. In the three years I have been with Home Tech I find the techs to be prompt, courteous, knowledgeable. They are good at communicating when they will be there to fix problems. I am pleased with service I have received.

I was watching a condo for a snow bird friend and I discovered water on the kitchen floor under the fridge. We called home tech and the next morning they were there at 8 AM sharp. The tech Nick was terrific. He figured out the issue within minutes and had the leak fixed in no time. Nick knew his business and was very good and professional. The total cost was 174 dollars including labor and parts. I would highly recommend this service and ask for Nick.

Horrible experience; thought I was calling a local business in Lakewood Ranch/Bradenton Fl, got a Ft Myers person who couldn't take info and I had to spell where I lived 5x; tech came out same day.Had to order part ... would fix dryer 12/30...man from office called to give us the cost,& said the part was in....the next day he called back to ask if we wanted the dryer fixed; should have canceled then. Several phone calls back & forth;, the part didn't arrive until 1/6 and still no dryer fixed...2 plus weeks had gone by...No fast service...no service at all!!!! The """"sec"""" used the """"I am just a sec"""" to the point that we didn't even want to deal with her any more!!!!

Spent $344 with Home-Teck to repair a refrigerator capacitor and service plan. Then after 10 days stopped getting cold again they came back and told me it was the compressor and it would cost $1,100 to replace the compressor. I checked online and a compressor for that model was $155. A new similar new model refrigerator cost under $1200 at Lowes. I canceled my contract after reading all the reviews on Yelp and received nothing back. So I spent $344 on a worthless refrigerator. IMO they never repaired the refrigerator properly because since new the compressor was loud and after their repair it was quiet.

I have used Home Tech for many years, however, I recently took over my Mom's finances and she had been using Home Tech for years also. I noticed that my renewal agreement was $200.00 more than my Mom's. In trying to find out the reason as to the difference, I was told that my A/C was older than hers. My Mom did in fact get a new A/C unit last year, however, the amount of her contract the year prior was still cheaper than mine. My Mom's condo is on the 2nd floor and her appliances practically belong in a museum! Her A/C unit prior to being replaced, was actually 20 years + old and still running. The contracts are exactly the same coverage. I am still waiting for some 'manager' to call me back to justify the difference. I have been trying for the past four weeks to do this. I was passed onto Maggie, who took 2 weeks to call me back after she initially called me and her customer service skills, excuses and reasoning was insulting. So, it seems that Home Tech just pick $ amounts of their contracts without any rhyme or reason. My renewal was quote at $719.00 - how can they justify that when my appliances and A/C unit are only a few years old? We are never likely to spend this amount in a year !

i called them for appliance repair--and to investigate contracts to service our many rentals. there is no $99 silver plan. but what there is is a $99 minimum serivce call for 15 minutes! then more labor and parts on top of that though there is nothing on the bill to tell you what anything past the $99 is for! and i asked they call before work since the washer was very old--they lied to me and did not call they just ran nearly $300 on my card without consent!. they billed with no breakdown of parts charges nor time spent--just $99 scall plus """"flat rate"""" number out of thin air for the rest and then tax. do not use them for repairs -- they will screw you! READ OTHER REVIEWS HERE--THE ONLY GOOD ONES I'LL BET THEY POSTED THEMSELVES!!! For sure don't use them for a contract if they do this on a simple service call. And are quoting prices 200% or more above online service contract prices? FOLLOW UP: Some person who didn't give me his name called --ONLY AFTER I EMAILED AGAIN A COPY OF THIS POSTED ONLINE. Saying FIRST the repairman tried to call me. I WAS HOME WAITING BY THE PHONE--NO ONE CALLED! THEN HE QUOTED A PHONE NUMBER THAT IN NO WAY RESEMBLED MINE SAYING the number was wrong on the invoice. I asked """"And this is my fault in what way?"""" And asked,""""so this made it OK to just charge my card without consent?"""" I then ALSO ASKED HIM IF HE HAD THE WRONG NUMBER HOW HE HAD CALLED ME NOW? HE HAD NO ANSWER (the number I put on YELP is not right--to avoid spammers--so it WAs in his files--had TO BE CORRECT TO RUN THE CARD CHARGES--DUH!!!) Then with no more excuses, his """"FIX IT"""" offer was to have my tenant take off work again--let them back in to take parts off my washer--NO DOUBT THE ORIGNAL PARTS ARE GONE THO! Then would only charge me thr $99 fee? IS THAT NOT THE MOST CRAZY THING EVER! The person tried to say """"we don't do business this way. we do not run charges on cards without consent"""" Really? Well you just did!!! And now you want me to let you in to tear up my washer and still pay $99!! RUN FAST FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! DO NOT GET TAKEN FOR THE RIDE I HAVE BEEN!
