So, I had a long list of delayed plumbing issues and called Hicks. Couldn't be happier with the result. He even dealt with the warranty on faulty components. Everything fixed!

A recent request for a service call on October 2023, I followed with text and photos what needs to be done was met with NO RESPONSE.

I should have learn my lesson from July 2022 when I also called Hicks Plumbing, and my call was not returned.

At this point, I gave up and hired another plumber. Sadly, I also notified three of my friends who I have referred Hicks Plumbing, and will be using another contractor for future work.

Norm was freaking awesome. After my Dad died, my mom started paying the bills. She was getting these $800/month water bills, that I was trying to diagnose over the phone (but she wouldn't actually send me the bill). Eventually I called the water company, they explained I have a leak, 86,400 seconds/day * 30 days, yes she could use that much water.

My Mom had had numerous plumbers over the house to help fix her leak. They would come out, charge her all kinds of money, do nothing. Finally, I started calling Handymen, and my Mom's gardener told me it was the water main that was the problem.

My Mom had gotten some crappy giant plumbing company to come by, they had bid $5,000 to replace the manifold, $22,000 to replace the line. I think the plan was to replace the manifold, then break the main line (flexible pipe from 1963, now super brittle, not to code). So it was going to end up being $27,000, and she would be without water for 2 days why they ran the main line...

Me and my Mom's gardner/kind of adopted son insisted she get an estimate from Norm. Norm came out, bid $11,000 of which $6,000 of that was the materials because copper pipe is really expensive.

So Norm and his son came out, ran the new main line. Gardener sends me pictures, looks beautiful. Water meter still shows leaking, Norm tracks that down to a toilet, fixes that as part of the job.

Of course, my mom was then upset because she could still hear water running. Well, come to discover she has tinnitus. She's 87, a little paranoid. Since she could still hear the water running, she was mad, didn't want to pay him. So I paid him over the phone from Oregon.

Norm was a prince with all that, no hard feelings, he got it. Wasn't mad, just wanted to get paid.

There was a minor problem with one of the fixtures, Norm ordered a new one, put it in no charge.

The way the construction trades work I've noticed is that about 1/10 tradesmen really know their stuff. We no longer have vocational training, so its really an apprenticeship program to learn a trade. It's important to get a referral, because the good people network with each other, and all become friends.

So that was a long bit about my personal situation, let me summarize.

Norm was a prince, did a great job. 6! stars.

Wow. A plumber that will give you advice and recommendations over the phone! I'm not saying you should call this guy for tech service but after explaining my dilemma with the new under sink hot water dispenser, he gave me some advice and helped me out in the middle of working at a site.
Who does that?! These guys do.
Once I order the right thing and receive it, these guys are getting the call for the install.

Darrow is the best. I have a leaking shower faucet. Called Darrow yesterday. He responded my call right way, texted me before came to my house give me a heads up. He came and gave my husband some critical advice, told us where to get the parts, charged us a minimum call service fee. My husband bought the parts and fixed the leaking follow Darrow's advice. I have to contact him in between, again Darrow responded right way. I can't thank home enough. He truly deserves a five stars.

I contacted Hick's Plumbing because of a water leak underneath my kitchen sink. He was at my residence in under 10 minutes and had the problem corrected in about 15 minutes. The service was outstanding. I can't recommend highly enough! Thank you for a great experience!

Darrow has been a Godsend. He came out to my office to look at something and fixed it inside of 10 minutes.

I then had him come to a rental property and fix a leak that was costing me a lot of money. Good, fast and very fairly priced.

Finally, he came to my home and consulted me on what was wrong - my toilet had a squeaking issue that was driving my wife nuts! Fixed!!!

Can't recommend him enough!
