Lisa M.If you want to have a washing machine hose cleaned out for $200. Be sure to call them, otherwise find a reputable Company for your plumbing needs!!
Harriet Austin Z.DO NOT USE
I have been waiting for a part for my water heater for MONTHS from them. (small leak) Every time I call they NEVER return my calls. When and if I do get a hold of someone, they ""check with the tech"" to see if part is in. Finally after waiting WEEKS for ""THE PART"" a tech came out and low and behold....WRONG PART. ""Have to order right part, (piece of piping). It has been going on since December. This back and forth and no communication what so ever is so very frustrating. If they don't want the job they could at least let me know so I can contact a reliable company to fix my problem, instead of keeping me waiting on ""ordered parts"", which they probably have sitting on their shelf !!!!
Horrible Horrible communication skills with this office!!!!!
The ONLY reason they got one star was because I had to rate in order to submit this review!
Aaron W.Had slow hot water leak in the shower faucet. Charged $800 and left the building with no hot water for a week and a large hole in the wall.
Best part is the hot and cold water run simultaneously whenever the shower is on now. Worst plumber ever, I will never use them again.
Called to inquire about service. Woman gave me a price range of $180-$400 to fix a water shut off. I asked if she could narrow that down, then she started yelling and hung up on me. Lost my business forever
These guys are awesome...as good as it gets! Woke up to find my furnace had stopped working overnight. Was getting ready to go out of town the next day...so really needed to get it fixed. I called Hertel Hardware, and within an hour of my call, the furnace repair expert Jason (and he really WAS an expert!) had diagnosed the issue, and went to retrieve the needed part. All told...less than 2 hours from the time I called to the time my furnace was once again blowing hot air. I've used these guys for years, and today just reinforced why. Speedy, courteous service, reasonably priced, by people who care. Thanks Hertel Hardware...once again, you've really delivered!
Matt R.Couldn't have asked for a more professional, courteous staff. They answered all of my questions and explained everything they did. Also, incredibly reasonable prices. I have dealt with other plumbers before. I won't call anyone else for my plumbing needs in the future. Jordan and his partner are the best!
Horrible. Didn't know what they were doing. Nearly ruined my boiler system. I called the manufacturer of my boiler and described what hertel hardware was proposing and they told me not to let them near it and they referred me to someone that helped me out.
Dave L.We have an older house, and a plumber we had in for a drip told us it would take a total reworking of the plumbing, along with the destruction of the subway tiles we like so much. We let it go. Things eventually got worse, and we had Hertel Hardware and Plumbing out on the recommendation of a friend. A personable young man showed up at the beginning of the appointed time (and called ahead, first!), took his shoes off at the door, took some things apart, put them back together, BOOM! fixed. Took about an hour, and no destruction of anything. How grateful we are to find an honest business!
MB S.We had a small drip in the bathroom tub, not an emergency. We called at the end of last week and got an appointment for today (Tuesday) and were given the window of between 11-1. A very personable young man showed up at 10:50 and got right to work. He looked professional with a Hertle Hardware polo on. He took his work boots off at the door and got right to work. The whole job took about 15 minutes, he showed me the part he replaced and explained everything to me. I felt that they charge a fair price and do honest work. We would definitely use them again.
Alex K.I know the business name is ""Hertel Hardware,"" but they do quite a bit more than just sell tools. For years and years, Hertel Hardware has been my family's source for our plumbing needs. I can plumbers visiting to snake pipes, drain our basement, repair a line out to the street. Agh.
Since my buddy bought a property that I've helped manage, I've had to call them myself to deal with frozen pipes, clogged pipes, and recently the diagnosis of whatever the heck was going on that resulted in some severe water damage in the kitchen ceiling.
The plumbers who showed up have been personable and professional, explaining each step they were taking, what the causes of the issue are, and what maintenance solutions could be taken to prevent recurrence of said issues in the future. In other words, they've successfully dispelled most of the mystery that so often veils the sphere of plumbing.
Most of the times I have needed to call them out have been for emergencies, and they really accommodate such emergencies pretty well, oftentimes pushing and reordering less urgent calls in order to do so. The downside of this practice is that if you are a less urgent call, you can find yourself waiting longer than you expected. When calling to schedule an appointment, you receive a window, not a fixed time... much like Time Warner Cable.
Billing is transparent and is now accomplished on site via smartphone, which I do appreciate.
Mario and Luigi might still be my favorite set of plumbers, but Hertel Hardware isn't far behind.
