First, let me address the negative reviews--which I worried about. I researched the companies, got several estimates, and weighed the number of years Henderson Bros. has been in Lodi. Forever, I might add. A company that old can't survive if they're doing shoddy work. See my first review--which I wish I'd added that one of the *higher-rated* companies gave me a $10,000 bid to do the same work that Henderson did for $2300. (In fact, the bid was so high, I worried that if I went with Henderson's much lower bid, were they skipping something? No. They did an amazing job.) Now on to my second review for a completely different job in a completely different house.

1. After moving to a new house, we called Henderson's to do an inspection. They charged us for a tune-up, inspected the system, changed the filters. Standard fare. This was March, and all we'd used was the heater, which seemed to work fine. Come summer, we realized that the east-facing bedrooms were not cooling. We called Henderson again to problem-solve the issue. They came out, measured the flow from each vent in the house. (And we have a lot.) They discovered that the two bedrooms had far-less flow than the others, and suggested putting a damper in the guest bath to direct less flow there and more into the two bedrooms. They also suggested putting on different vent covers to direct more of the air toward the bed area instead of the cheap, builder grade vents that direct flow to sides of rooms. They gave us an estimate, which I knew to be fair. They also said all the ductwork was well-sealed and in good shape. (I asked them to inspect it, in case we needed it fixed as in old house.)

2. There were issues with the vent order. Henderson called me every few days to update. After a continued delay with the order (manufacturer's fault, not Henderson's), they asked if we wanted them to come out and fix the dampers then return to do the vents. We decided to wait.

3. On the day they came out to fix the dampers/vents, they needed to run the A/C continuously to check the flows again, along with the temperature. The A/C broke down while they were doing this. They went outside, checked, found the capacitor blew. (The unit was 10 years old, so not unexpected.) Naturally this needed to be fixed before they could continue with the damper repair. They drove to the office, picked up a new capacitor, popped it in, then went back to work. Also, they checked 2nd A/C unit just to make sure that capacitor was in good shape. THEY DID NOT CHARGE FOR THIS REPAIR. (And I've had other A/C people charge a fortune for minor repairs.)

4. Our A/C worked like a champ after that, cooling the two bedrooms as expected. This was not an easy job. It took many hours, and if you divided it up by cost per hour, it was more than fair.

I highly recommend Henderson. After using them a second time, I upped from 4 to 5 stars. (Honestly, I have to wonder about who many of those 1 star reviews are from.)

My landlord had Henderson Brothers come out and do their yearly maintenance. The Technician who came out was Ben. He couldn't have been more courteous, knowledgeable and communicative. He showed up within the time frame they quoted, did a great job and seemed very thorough.

I have no rating. Henderson's plumber was supposed to install a water heater for me on 3/21/17 at 8:30 in the morning. They never showed up or called. I called their office at 9am. The girl in the office didn't know where he was and told ME that I needed to call him. Really? Anyway he didn't answer so I left a voicemail for him to call me. Never heard from him so I called the office again. The girl said she would call him and tell him to call him. 5 o'clock came and I never heard from him. So I called him again and left another message. I waited all day on Wednesday and still never got a call. So at 5 o'clock I called the office to complain. Their voicemail message said they're not going to be in during New Years. Still? Anyway their system wouldn't let me leave a message. So on Thursday morning I called and got the same girl. I told her nobody ever showed up or called. I told her that it was no way to run a business and that I would not be needing their services. And I would never use them or refer them to anybody else. To this day I still have not heard from them!

Stay away they were to recharge a/c, next day blew up, was working fine just not cold enough
the bill was $500 at first then $3300 after, they do not stand behind their work, three guys
took a try to fix, again pick someone else to fix you aircond.

Needed a section of pipe replaced under my house and Richie the plumber from Henderson Bros. came out and did a great job in 30 minutes time. He replaced a 6 ft. section of pipe
that had been damaged by a previous company that got to aggressive while cleaning out my backed-up toilet and pipes. Their rotor machine blade broke off into the top side of my pipe and created a 6 ft. crack that allowed sewage to drain under my house every time we flushed.
I'd like to thank Richie and Chris for their professionalism, quick response, and for doing a great job of fixing the damaged pipe under the house. I would strongly recommend them to other customers who need a plumber!

Worse customer service ever. Had a job being done by Russ. He said it would be ready in three days. It's been three weeks and he hasn't started the job. No calls or emails, just said he didn't have time. This business has gone down hill fast.

I am very disappointed. Seven years ago when I bought my house these guys exceeded expectations in all the upgrades that were needed. Today, I asked for an estimate for some work and the estimator came out. But two months later after 4 phone calls and 2 emails. I've received no response. Not even a ""sorry we are busy"" and won't be able to handle to take on your small job. Their work may still be great, but their customer service needs a lot of help.

I called Henderson Bros. because they have been doing business in Lodi for decades. I needed my furnace fixed, they came out that very morning and had it fixed before lunch. The problem was not easy to fix as two other contractors had been out previously and they could not debug the furnace. Crystal in the office was great to deal with too!

Hmmmm. Had them out to my office 3 weeks ago. Unit needed recharging. A tech came out and charged the unit, also adding a seatlant to seal the apparent leak.
Now, three weeks later, unit is not cooling....and of course, it's supposed to hit
100 degrees today. Called them up first thing in the morning. Sure, they'll come
out to fix the problem (again?) however, can't get out to your office until
tomorrow late afternoon. Gee, thanks....and we've already paid them their
$300.00 charge! Another local A/C service company was called this morning,
and they'll be out here in just a couple of hours. I've wasted $300.00 on
Henderson Brothers. Just a heads up to those interested. I would have
appreciated them coming out immediately (if not sooner), since they didn't
correct the problem the first time, and we've already pain them......
