I had the team from Heatsource Mechanical come out to our house today to check our furnace and hot water heater. Since we are in the process of selling our home, the new buyers needed that these two items receive maintenance. Someone in my family referred me to Heatsource, as they had used the company in the past. They were able to accommodate our busy schedule and set up an appointment within 48 hours of My call.
The two professionals arrived on time. They introduced one another and were extremely friendly and polite. They completed the servicing of both units in under two hours. I felt the price was a bit high for basic servicing of the furnace and hot water heater, but I appreciated that they could attend to us quickly since our house is sold and this needed to be done.
I would certainly recommend Heatsource Mechanical based on their prompt and professional response, as well as their expertise. They explained what was being done and why the service was necessary. Thank you Heatsource!

Back in 2009, Heatsource Mechanical modified the plumbing and put in new ventilation fans in a couple of of our upper washrooms. In winter, the vent did not open for approximately 5 minutes until the frost thawed sufficiently for it to operate. My partner suspected the work was poorly executed, and examined it. He discovered multiple concerns. The plastic-covered insulation around the pipes was waterlogged, and was leaking in the crawl space, which could have caused mold growing up there. After he removed the insulation, he observed Heatsource Mechanical failed to use foil tape to seal the pipes before wrapping them, which is the reason why the insulation was compromised. Moreover, the vent that went out the gable end had poor sealing, and led to the vent flap getting stuck in the winter.
We contacted several services, and contemplated doing the work ourselves. However, we decided against it after Heatsource Mechanical requested an opportunity to redo the work. We have yet to hear for Heatsource Mechanical to honor their request. They did not show up again.
We caution potential clients to watch out for subpar craftsmanship. If you need work to be done right, do your research to make sure you understand what you are assessing. Furthermore, we suggest you inspect the work at every stage to prevent corners being cut.

Heatsource Mechanical Services offered bad service. I had an appointment for regular upkeep for my HVAC unit. Heatsource called off the first scheduled time because it was swamped with emergencies. Given the circumstances, it was cold.
We arranged a second appointment. On the day of the rescheduled visit, I took off work because my partner was busy that day. I double-checked the scheduled time earlier in the week. Heatsource failed to arrive again.
I reached out to inquire what was the issue, I was informed they were again overbooked. I asked why no one reached out to update us, and I discovered they had written down my spouse's number wrong, which meant they left a message someone else. They neglected to leave messages on my personal phone or my home phone.
Heatsource's solution? We can reschedule you a third time. I declined. Go elsewhere if you can.

My experience with HeatSource Mechanical was excellent. I found their customer service to be top-notch. They were very helpful. The team showed great expertise.
I appreciate the assistance from Jennifer. HeatSource Mechanical has made me happy.
The service I received was remarkable. I felt well taken care of during the entire process. HeatSource Mechanical is knowledgeable in their field.
Overall, I would recommend HeatSource Mechanical. Their staff is dependable. I will definitely consider them for my plumbing needs in the future.

I had a great experience with customer service.
I needed a new boiler and water heater, so I contacted a few different companies.
I called three different companies, including Heatsource Mechanical.
The representative from Heatsource Mechanical was both courteous and skilled.
He promptly offered one of the quotes I had asked for.
I ultimately decided not to go with them for other reasons, but their service was impressive.
In summary, I was satisfied with the service I received from Heatsource Mechanical.
Based on my interaction, I would suggest considering them.

I feel very dissatisfied with my service from Heatsource Mechanical. The technicians who showed up didn't have the required parts to repair my water heater and failed to clean up trash behind for me to handle. I cannot help but feel frustrated that I spent $178 for a visit for parts they do not possess and may not have. I definitely feel cheated. This is poor business.
On the 7th of January, they informed me that they'd contact me, but I've been without hot water since December 15, 2019. They promised they'd get in touch to let me know how much it would amount to to order the parts and subsequently repair it, and still nothing has happened. I reached out a few times, but I got no response. After some time, someone responded and said the parts department was busy and I'd get a call back. It has been two days ago, and I reached out once more, but I received no answer.
Their service is unacceptable.

During a recent furnace outage, I noticed the dreaded "3 blink" flash code, which indicated a problem with the pressure switch. I reached out to a couple of other service providers, but they were all booked, as they informed me. Their earliest availability was after hours, and at almost three times the cost of HeatSource.
So, my wife and I reached out to HeatSource to inquire about a technician's availability, as our house temperature had already dropped to the mid 50s and it was still freezing outside. A friendly representative answered the call took the time to understand our situation and I appreciated that I was able to speak with a live person instead of a robotic answering service that required pushing 100 buttons to connect with a representative.
She took note of what I had discovered and communicated my findings to her technician (Jess, or Jessie, I think was his name|I believe his name was Jess, or maybe Jessie|I hope I remembered his name correctly, Jess or Jessie). She assured us that he would arrive later that afternoon.
Once he got there, he started diagnosing the problem right away. He replaced the broken component, and he added a new condensation pump, to ensure the new part would function properly. I knew I needed a condensation pump, yet I had postponed the purchase because the quotes I received were between $400 and $500. Eventually, summer came and I had other expenses to consider.
The cost for the condensation pump this time was significantly lower, almost half actually. Even though nobody enjoys paying for repairs, at least I knew this money was well spent, unlike the times I spent hundreds on a lawyer.
I want to express my gratitude to HeatSource for their swift response, for listening to our findings, even though we weren't trained HVAC personnel and for only fixing what was needed and not attempting to sell us unnecessary components. Thank you once again, HeatSource team!

As a customer of Heatsource Mechanical, I found the technician who inspected our furnace for the sale of our home to be very unprofessional. It seemed like doing his job was a real inconvenience for him.
He discovered a small crack in the condensate tube and informed us that we would be lucky to find a replacement part, suggesting we might need an entirely new furnace. A quick search online showed that parts are available.
He left a crumpled paper towel in the furnace, claiming it wouldn't get hot enough to cause any issues. The report he provided inaccurately indicated that our furnace is older than it truly is, and he made remarks about furnace lifespans that do not pertain to our situation. We primarily heat with wood, so our furnace has very low hours and has been carefully maintained, which could affect the value and sale of our home.
When we expressed our concerns to the manager, we were told that company policy is to never alter what a technician includes in their report, even if the information is subjective.
Additionally, he was supposed to inspect our gas stove and repeatedly mentioned that it was a significant inconvenience, stating he didn't really know much about gas stoves. He spent 15 minutes adjusting the door and managed to strip the threads of the bracket where the door bolts, then told us it was cross-threaded. He mostly got the door closed again but then insisted that the door was warped and wouldn't close properly, despite it being cast iron and clearly not warped. He said it was unsafe, so he turned off the stove but neglected to turn off the gas.
We tapped and rethreaded the bracket, and the door closed smoothly, so we ended up paying $60 for him to damage our stove and not provide an inspection report because, as he stated, he didn't know about gas stoves.
Now, nearly two weeks later, we still haven't heard back from Heatsource Mechanical about replacing the condensate tubing. In the past, we had good experiences with this company, but this incident has convinced us to avoid them in the future.
Update: It has now been over two weeks, and when we called to inquire about the part they wanted to replace, they said they would contact the furnace company and call us back, which is what they promised two weeks ago. We are still waiting for a call back.

I would not let these people into my home. They are not getting in mine again.
During my work trip in December, the aquastat on my boiler from Honeywell failed to generate heat. No one was available to fix it other than this company.
They arrived at my residence and installed a new box in just 1.5 hours charging me $3000.00. The box failed, which should have been under warranty like the previous one, but they only warranty for 30 days.
They took the expensive box I wanted and claimed they threw it in a dumpster. It might have been repairable, most likely a simple sensor problem. It upset me that they removed it from my home, and the manual also went missing.
They replaced it with a cheap $218.00 box and two relays that cost $14.00 each. Thus, the total for the installed parts was roughly $248.00 and they billed me $1700.00 plus had me put a deposit for parts of $1500.00, resulting in a grand total of $3,231.05 for 1.5 hours of labor.
The first visit added another $268.50 plus a $179.00 charge for a return trip because of a problem that they should have fixed initially which totaled $447.50.
After I opened the cover of the inexpensive box that malfunctioned, I discovered he did not even bother hooking up the ground wire on my Taco pumps. That really upset me. He claims to be a plumber but he certainly is not an electrician. This felt more like extortion than actual plumbing. If you need plumbing services, there are other plumbers in this area who are reliable and fair.
Heatsource Mechanical is not the sole provider for plumbing services in the area.

Well, I must say that I highly recommend using another company for your mechanical needs.
This connection came from due to the home I'm in the process of buying. Even though I had doubts about their service department (having experienced 2 repairs and 2 rapid failures) in the past, I thought it best to request to provide a quote for a replacement system.
This occurred a fortnight ago. Ben, their representative has a good grasp of the situation, yet he hasn't delivered the pricing details up to now. Only repeated excuses have come my way.
The owner, Shawn, upon my call to address my concerns via phone claimed he was out Unfortunately, I was in his parking lot during my call and as his receptionist was saying “...he is out on a delivery...”, he was clearly visible.
Truthfully, I'm relieved I chose to move forward. I suggest you do as well...
