I would never recommend anyone to this company. They caused damage to my house, was treated very badly and they way for them to fix the water damage caused by their technician was to return my money. Not a professional way of doing things.
Own up to your mistakes and make them right!
Will never recommend them to anyone!!!!I I was left with water damage on my first floor ceiling. Very bad customer service support.

Great service but WAY OVERPRICED. Fixed a leaky kitchen pipe and removed a under sink water heater for $590.

Second time in 3 months that I have needed a plumber. Our PRV started leaking a lot and we had to shut off our water. Called Hawthorne and they had a great technician, Nate Gutierrez take care of our problem. Communication and follow up is awesome. Nate quoted the price up front, had the ball valve break upon start up , had to go pick one up installed it and honored his original quote. You can't go wrong with Hawthorne and when you call ask for Nate.

Charged $241.00 to replace a toilet flapper valve. A $20. part. They quoted me $ 900.00 to replace a standard toilet

The technician they sent out was very nice and did a fine job capping off a water line in my kitchen for me.
However, they are EXTREMELY overpriced. As a licensed electrician, I have been working with plumbers for years, and know what to expect in terms of timing and costs. The quotes they gave me for work are ridiculous, and I will definitely be finding another plumber to do the rest of the work on my house.
It seems like they do fine work, just be prepared to pay three times over what you should for plumbing services if you use them.

Calamity struck just as my wife and I were leaving town. Late Friday morning, we called the dispatcher for Hawthorne Plumbing in Reno to deal with a leaking (failed) water heater in my home in Lake Tahoe. A local friend had previous experience with them and said they were good people.

We described our hot water heater (dimensions, size), indicated it was leaking and called a local friend to meet the technician who would arrive 1.5 hours later. Mind you, this is a Friday. The tech sent was an amazing young man named NATE. He brought the needed replacement hot water heater, drained and pulled the existing water heater and installed the replacement heater after quoting a price to me over the phone. He worked from mid afternoon to 8:30 PM.

It was a fair price and a life saver for me. I can't say enough about the service provided. In this day and age, they are to be commended and recognized for providing extraordinary service.

Had an absolutely horrible experience with Hawthorne!!! The people that answer the phone/schedule the appointments are extremely deceptive. They lead you to believe that the prices are lower, only to have the actual plumber hit you with a much larger bill! I ended up paying $333.00 for less than 30 minutes worth of work. And the job wasn't even finished. Just four days after Hawthorne came out, the same problem occurred. I called them back and the woman on the phone told me that the service charge could be waived by the plumber since the original job wasn't done properly. The plumber then calls me and tells me that because I didn't do the add on inspection, there was no warranty on the work and I'd have to pay over $450 for him to come back out. So they lie when they say that a job done incorrectly is free! Their plumbers try to upsell you for additional services when their rates are already some of the highest in town. Do yourself a favor and call anyone else!!!

This company is a bunch of robbers. Literally came to the house and said we needed all new everything with a invoice of 10,500 to get it fixed. So had a second opinion come out and plugged in a wire and magic. It's works now. Trying to take advantage of people should be a crime . I will be visiting them tomorrow at their store

We had an unusual sewer problem in our 90-year-old cabin at Lake Tahoe. We called Hawthorne Plumbing to replace our antique system. Through many set backs, difficulties, and parts hassles, the company remained steadfast and timely in their efforts to complete our job. David was the absolute best in his persistence, never giving up, and thinking outside the box to get our job done. It was an incredible ordeal, but David and Hawthorne Plumbing were right there with us and did not walk away until the job was done. We are so grateful to the company and to David for taking the time, energy, and commitment to successfully complete our job. Our unique location requires some imagination, and David was there for us every step of the way.

I have needed someone out to scope my lateral sewer line for root damage and determine if it needed replacing. They were able to come out the same day I called and perform the work. Additionally, the communication from this company is great--and the focus is on safety. I received a text message when the plumber was on the way with a picture of what he looks like. This is such a great feature and immediately made me feel better knowing exactly who to expect at my door.

The plumber was very respectful and showed up wearing a mask, even though the work was being performed outside. He explained to me how the camera on the snake worked and also used another device to map out exactly where my sewer line is. Once he determined there are still roots in my sewer line (and thus is punctured and needing replacement), he also provided a quote to have that work done. This was a great experience, and I'll definitely keep Hawthorne Plumbing in mind for my future plumbing needs.
