Jim C.Very happy with the entire experience. Called late last week because I had at least one leaky toilet, possibly a second (unless someone was lying about letting water get past the shower), and wanted that handled professionally. I also had a new sink fixture that seemed straightforward to install, but while I had someone out, might as well have them do it.
Scheduling was pleasant and we talked through the options and an estimate. I learnt that Mark (whose company was merged) would be coming out, and that sealed the deal, so to speak. (Back then, another plumbing service had done work that was ... needing a professional to fix. Mark and his father came out and took care of that and some weirder things (pressure reducer) with aplomb. Stress level was greatly reduced and led to immense respect for high-quality plumbers.)
Fast-forward to 2023. Mark arrives, very pleasant, and walks through the requested work with me. The faucet turns out to be a lot harder because the one it's replacing had rusted/seized, but he gets it done and it looks great. My spouse is pleased. Next up, the toilets. Turns out the leaker was not what I thought it was, but it was simply addressed. The two others were inspected and those are fine.
tl;dr: Pleasant folks, professional work, would not hesitate to recommend them.
It seems our long time favorite plumbing company Scheurman's has stopped taking on work at least for the time being and is now referring their customers to Han's Not sure of the mechanics of this but upon reaching Scheurman's answering machine I folllowed the instructions and called Hans. Justin took my call and was a pleasure to speak with. He is both professional and very knowledgeable. Mark Scheurman is working there and he was able to send Mark to our home two days later. It was not an emergency. Mark quickly located the problem with our washing machine leak and promptly fixed it. He was on to our master bedroom toilet and replaced a bad flapper valve and shut off valve. As always, he was friendly clean and so knowledgeable! A pleasure to deal with. Price was less than expected and more than reasonable. Call this place with confidence!
I could not be happier after completing my project with Justin and Lucas. I needed almost my entire cast iron stack replaced in an older craftsman home, along with new fittings installed for future fixtures, a tie into our sewer line without breaking it as well as adding new waste lines for a basement bathroom. The project started with a simple advising session to see if I could handle the project myself. After talking things out with Justin it became abundantly clear he was a true pro, incredibly experienced and so knowledgeable that I finally decided to just have Justin and his apprentice Lucas do the entire job.
I can tell you I could not be more happy I made this decision. Justin and Lucas both worked incredibly hard and were very careful to avoid damage to other portions of the house as well as keep a clean workspace. The end product was clean and professional and passed inspection without code issue and the city inspector even remarked how good the install looked.
A few things that really stood out to me about Justin was the fact that he is as happy to do the work as he is to teach and empower the homeowner, who wants to learn, any and everything they want to know about the process, fittings, code, etc. The fact that he was so willing and able to share his knowledge was invaluable and definitely makes me feel better moving forward that I will be able to do more things myself. He was also great about talking out the various options for each scenario that arised during the project and repeatedly said, ""if this was my house"" I would do the following which shows an added level of thought to make sure things are done right and with best practices.
A lot of trades do not charge for quotes or walkthroughs and I initially balked contacting Hans and paying for the time to get my initial meetup with Justin. But with smaller operations like Hans it is important to remember time spent with you for a quote means time not spent on a job, so with that in mind I was more than happy to pay. With that said I can not say enough good things about Justin and Lucas and would highly recommend them for anyone looking for honest, hard working and thoughtful plumbers.
August G.A house guest snapped off the cold water handle in our shower. I called Justin, of Hans' Plumbing, and he took the time to explain to me different ways of how I might be able to fix the problem myself. He was available to come fix it, but he went out of his way to tell me ways that I could save money by doing it myself. Clearly a very honest guy and highly knowledgeable.
Mark T.Holy cow these guys are awesome. We had Justin and Lucas come to help solve a mysterious bathtub leak (water pouring in through downstairs ceiling - NOT GOOD!). Using Sherlock Holmes-ian skills and thorough forensic plumbingology they were able to find the source of the problem, access the problem with an unknown-to-me access hatch, and fix the problem in short order. Before we called Hans' Plumbing we were envisioning cutting through walls and ceilings - but happily - NOT THIS TIME!
Further, Justin did a great job explaining the problem to the plumbing-knowledge-impaired homeowner - me - and he and his team did a great job cleaning up the work area before they were done.
I'm putting Hans' Plumbing in our Rolodex (is Rolodex still a thing?). Thank you Hans' Plumbing!
We have had this plumbing service for several years. they are prompt informative and always professiona; about not leaving a mess. My mother is elderly and does not like to many people in her home...they made her feel very taken care of and are always so respectful. Its refreshing!
I would hire Hans' Plumbing again without hesitation. Justin and his apprentice were prompt, courteous, and most of all - fairly priced. I was given an idea of what the job I needed done might entail beforehand. So there were no major surprises. What I loved about Justin was his ability to communicate clearly, professionally and honestly. I could not be happier with the final results and everything is working superbly! Plus, this has been a family business for years. So I'm much more inclined to hire someone who wants to maintain the best reputation for that business. Thus, there is a strong pride of ownership, which was evident from my extremely positive experience with Hans' Plumbing.
Our hot water tank had moisture on the floor around it. I phoned Hans plumbing, and made an appointment. Hans arrived on time, and was very personable and professional. He noted, politely, that my tank had not been properly installed. He installed an expansion tank. Solved the moisture problem. Thank you, Hans, for the professionalism, good work, helpful information, and reasonable price.
Otto P.Do not hire them!
They do not stand behind their work!
They installed a hose bib for me, it failed the third time I used it, but it had been a couple months, and they said they have a 30 day warranty, so either pay us to fix it, or fix it yourself. Ended up costing me $600 to fix after I paid them $300 to install.
Avoid!!!!!!!!
I'm updating my review because my sink, that Jamie had installed, started to leak a couple of weeks after install.
Fortunately, I got to meet the impressive Justin that all the other reviews mention.
Justin was extremely gracious and went out of his way to fix the problem.
I'm changing my rating because of Justin. However, I experienced an enormous difference between between Jamie (still one star) and Justin - and it's Justin's business, so I'll update this review.
As far as I know however, they still don't take credit cards and don't let customers know until after the work is completed.
