So we just purchased a condo and our first weekend there the AC was not working. We called HJacks plumbing and heating and to their credit they were able to send a a tech out on a Saturday. They told us the Freon was low and they charged it. They charged us $435 which would be fine except the problem was not fixed. The AC is still not cooling and now we are out $435 and need to find another company.

Our furnace was making a strange sound, so we called H Jacks to take a look at it. Before they looked at the furnace for 30 seconds, they told us we would need to replace it right away and they offer financing. Then they said we would need duct work and we might as well replace our air conditioning unit as well because it was probably installed at the same time. (They didn't even physically lay eyes on the AC unit). They wanted us to commit to approximately $15k-$20k worth of work immediately.

Luckily, we called for a second opinion and Slife serviced our furnace and replaced a part for $120. They said we will probably need a new furnace in the next 2-3 years, but right now it is in good shape.

I'm so annoyed that H Jack's tried to upsell us so quickly, and glad we didn't fall for it. Really disappointing.

12/28/2024. My furnace quit heating. I found the ignitor broke, so I Called H Jack's on Saturday to replace my furnace ignitor. No transparency, I was never informed of an estimate. Instead two technicians arrived, I gave them the broken ignitor and they pulled a new one from their truck. 10 minutes later it was installed then I was given their invoice. $453.00 to install a $35 dollar part. I will never use them again, a rip-off! Beware.

I will never use again or refer anyone to use. They price gouge. I was charged $341 to snake a bathtub which took less than an hour. My male friend who used the plumber in the past and referred to me was appalled and angry at the price I was charged and said I was railroaded. He said he will never use this company again either or refer anyone else. He said he had a more complex plumbing issue & was charged less. Hmm... did gender play a role? Did race place a role? Don't use! I am only giving 1 star because the site requires at least 1 star to post review, otherwise they would not get any stars.

Requested AC service because the AC stopped working all of the sudden. Their tech came out told me we'd need a new unit and that there were several issues with the new unit. Luckily I knew better than to trust a single opinion on a replacement that would have been several thousand dollars. We got another HVAC contractor out the only thing that needed replaced was as a fan. What they tried to do was borderline fraudulent. Would never recommend using H Jacks because they will lie right to your face.

Called them on a Saturday to snake my kitchen drain which is about 15 ft of pipe. They charged me 488 dollars . That's a complete rip off ..

Our furnace stopped working and we called HJack who were available on a Sunday. They quoted us one price and charged us another, higher price and they didn't even fix the furnace! Then they quoted us a ridiculous price for new furnace! I pray that people do their homework- we got a new furnace from another company for less than half the price they quoted!

After over 3 years they still owe me $200.00 in furnace and air cleaning that was added on to a botched furnace repair. I tell everyone... never, ever, ever, ever, hire these hacks.

I had called HJacks to snake the drain in the kitchen and bathroom of my rental property. I had them replace my furnace at my primary residence a year prior so I thought they would be reasonable and trustworthy.

The job is very simple. I have snaked the drains before and could have done the job myself but called them due to having other more time sensitive matters. They charged 495 and I agreed as it would save some time.

Then they called and tried to tell me they need to jackhammer the foundation and replace the pipe under ground because water from the kitchen drain was coming up from the foundation. They said the job is 4400$ and completely necessary. This was a complete lie, as there was a corroded valve above the wet spot in the basement, it was dripping onto the floor and not coming up from under the foundation. Replacing the valve is a 20$ fix. I told them to proceed without replacing the pipe and just to snake it. In the end the kitchen pipe was fine just as I had thought.

Then when snaking the bathroom drain which they claimed would be an easy job, they somehow broke the pipe in the wall with the snake. Now the drain is leaking into the wall though the subfloor and into the floor joists. They said they would fix THEIR mistake for 2600$. This happened after refusing to pay the 4400$ scam from earlier.

In the end, instead of solving the problem I had, they tried to create problems to solve. They caused damage to my house and have not tried to solve the problem. They turned and easy job into a big expense. If I knew they would have broke the drain in the wall I would have just done the job myself. Here I am 495$ later with a bigger problem to solve that they caused. I strongly do not recommend HJacks

My dad, who is 95 years old, had a problem with his AC not working. I called H Jack's plumbing for service. The technician troubleshot his system and said that a board was bad in the furnace. He showed me which one it was and said as old as the furnace was (11 years) that the part would be hard to find, it'd be better to replace his system with new. He gave a quote of over $4000.00 to get the board and install it or over $7000.00 for a new system. I tracked down a new board for $160.00 and replaced it and the AC still didn't work. My dad was ready to have them put in a new furnace/AC and I decided to replace the thermostat on a hunch. Well guess what....everything works! A $40.00 thermostat fixed everything. H Jack's was about to charge him over $7000.00. Their technician misdiagnosed the problem and they were about to take advantage of a 95 year old senior citizen. DISGRACEFUL!
