I had an excellent experience with GP piping. Caleb came out to repair our water heater. We live out in Big Sur so its not always easy to find some one who will make the trip out and do a good job, they did both. They came and did an initial diagnoses, and clearly explained the repair process and the price.

The work was efficient and high-quality, and the cost for the repair was competitive. We know because we called to other plumbers in our area.
Will definitely be using GP again. Thank you!!

I highly recommend Caleb and his team for their professionalism and reliable service. We have a home in the Big Sur area that needed a water heater replacement. GP was available, had a reasonable dispatch fee that was applied to the work of the install. I am glad we met Caleb and his team. Caleb, the president of GP Piping, is fast at fixing plumbing mistakes and installing new plumbing. Initially, he comes across as polite and positive. But I can only recommend him for short projects, such as installing faucets and water heaters. I made the mistake of hiring him for the demo and plumbing renovation of two bathrooms.
1. During the demo, he didn't properly protect my lighted mirror which is hard-wired. He covered only the front of it, and when demoing my vanity, a piece of the vanity flew off and took a chip out of the reflective area under the glass. When I pointed it out to him, he covered the sides, but never found me a solution to fix the mirrored area and refused to pay for the damage.
2. Caleb installed a defective tub without fully checking it out in advance to see that it was warped. After he installed it, the tilers said it was making popping noises when they stood in it before they tiled the wall. At first Caleb said that he only stood in the back of the tub and there was no noise, so he installed it. But Caleb had to remove the tub and install another one with new piping. When it was time to pay the final plumbing bill, he changed his story saying he did check out the whole tub and it wasn't making a popping noise before he installed it. He argued with me about it and charged me hundreds of dollars more for redoing the installation and piping which I did not feel was ethical because he should not have installed a defective tub in the first place.
3. Caleb kept reminding me that his rate was $200 an hour, although he bid on the project at a fixed rate. $200 an hour is the highest rate possible in this area.
4. When it was time to pay the final bill, he also charged me an additional $450 for materials but never provided me with a receipt. He insisted that the materials were for supplies that he kept in his truck, which he didn't keep track of and didn't have receipts for!
5. Caleb arrived 45 minutes to an hour late on most days. He never contacted me to say he was running late, I always had to contact him first. I let him know that I was not happy with his lack of communication. He was also unreliable at returning messages and calls about what days he would be able to work which caused me a great deal of stress. I was glad to have him finish this project and to be finished with him.

Caleb was unwilling to accept responsibility for his mistakes but instead overcharged me for the time it took to fix them. I would not recommend him due to his being argumentative, dishonest, and unprofessional.

Kudos to GP Piping for how they serviced our first plumbing request to replace our broken garbage disposal unit. They promptly returned our call and scheduled an appointment in a timely manner. Onsite, Caleb and Jess were super friendly and efficient, and the new disposal works great. I would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs in the Monterey Bay Peninsula area!

We were on vacation at our home in Pacific Grove when our sewer backed up. It was a Sunday morning and we called GP Piping. They promptly responded.
Caleb went right to work and fixed the problem. He was honest and helpful explaining what happened and gave us options to help prevent back ups in the future.

Refreshingly great experience with GP Piping! We had two hot water heaters that needed cleaning and some sediment filters that needed changing. They did a great job and I'll definitely be calling them again for any other services. Highly recommended! ps. They have competitive pricing, so that is another plus! I recently had a great experience working with GP Piping (and, in particular, Caleb) to replace our leaky old behemoth of a hot water tank with a new tankless system at our home in Pebble Beach. When our water heater suddenly stopped working, GP came out the same day to assess the issue. It was immediately clear that we needed a replacement. GP proposed a range of options, taking the time to answer my detailed questions and to provide me clear and fair estimates. They were able to schedule the replacement work within a very reasonable timeframe.

Throughout the process, the GP team proactively kept me updated and were very responsive (even after hours) via phone, text and email. They were highly professional and pleasant to work with, and they also managed the permit process on my behalf. They completed the work on time and consistent with their cost estimate, and we're extremely happy with the result.

I definitely will use GP Piping again for other plumbing needs, and I highly recommend them!
