Gold Seal Plumbing
Company Overview
Founded in 1967 by Robert E. Dixon, Sr. and Richard L. Dixon, Gold Seal Plumbing is dedicated to serving its clients' plumbing demands. Today, Richard Dixon serves as the president and CEO, continuing the legacy.
Bob Sr. would have taken great joy in witnessing his great grandsons grow into licensed journeyman plumbers. He would have valued the dedication, quality, integrity, and teamwork of the plumbers, trainees, and support staff at Gold Seal Plumbing.
Our goal was not to become the largest open plumbing shop in Eastern Washington...but we did. We didn’t intend to become the largest service plumbing operation from Seattle to Minneapolis...but we are. Our aspiration for the largest training budget for trade skills in Washington State has come to fruition!
Since 1984, Doug has worked in plumbing and has been the Service Manager at Gold Seal Plumbing for 9 years. You might observe a couple of differences that make us stand out from our rivals. We do not provide pricing over the phone because we aim to give you the most precise quotes with complete transparency before you commit. We believe in keeping our clients well-informed, which is why we offer upfront pricing—this means your price will remain the same, regardless of how long the repair takes or any issues that may arise during the process.

Last week Gold Seal charged us $952 for about an hour's work in replacing the media in the ion exchange water system GS had installed in early 2020. We didn't have much bargaining room as no plumbers we called could service this kind of system. The final bill did not break down labor and materials, and the service manager later informed us their policy is to charge a flat rate for any particular job, regardless of length of work or cost of the materials. The internet cost for the media averaged around $400, leaving the rest for labor for two working for about an hour!
Shannon L.Update...
I spoke with the owner 2 weeks ago after my managers tried getting ahold of them countless times with no response. I told the owner I left a lengthy review about the incompetency of his employees and how we shouldn't have been charged for them doing Absolutely nothing, the owner said he would refund the money we paid for work not done but he wanted me to change my review and say that we spoke and that they were fixing the problem by returning what we paid. However 2 weeks later and we have still not received our money back for the services they did not provide.
This company has no accountability and charges premium prices. They were called to fix a frozen water inlet to my toilet. $1100 later the original problem was solved but another created when they broke the shut off valve. I made an appointment the next day to get it fixed and was told it would be two days before they could come. The day of my appointment no one ever showed up. I called twice on the day to make sure I was on the schedule for the morning as stated. The following day I called again to see if I was on the schedule and was told that they never had an appointment scheduled at all, and it would be a week before they can come Adding insult to injury I was told I would be charged for the repair. Don't call these people , call someone who cares.
Amy R.We have used this company in a previous home and are using them again with our current home. We had a whole house water metering valve installed and new frost proof spigot's to help ensure we never have any flooding issues from freezing weather. Always helpful, quick to make appointments for service, polite professional workmen and stellar workmanship. We would definitely recommend them for any plumbing issues.
Louis Z.They need to consider how they do things on the weekend for urgent/emergent things. My water heater went out recently due to power issues and I eventually got an estimate and replacement with Sturm Heating and Cooling who I HIGHLY recommend. Gold Seal tech KNEW he wouldn't be able to do anything for me on a weekend and still came out to my house and charged me $250 for weekend evaluation and then additionally $110 for diagnostic. I had called Sturm after I was unsatisfied with Gold Seal and the tech in the phone immediately told me he wouldn't be able to fix anything on a Sunday due to likely needing to communicate with tech support for my heater brand and that he could come Monday/Tuesday and coming for a weekend rate would just be wasting my time and money. Gold Seal has no issues with taking my money and knowingly wasting my time and resources. Avoid!!!!
Quote was very high compared to the two other quotes we received. Beware of price gouging.
Morgan N.I think this company needs to reconsider how they treat estimates. We called on a Monday to have a toilet replacement estimate. They said they could come by on Friday between 8-12. Why couldn't they have a more definite appointment for an estimate? Aren't you trying to get our business? Why do we already have to wait for you?
Guess what? They never arrived. We didn't bother following up. We found another company to do the job.
Highly recommend Gold Seal! Their knowledge of issues and their attention to detail is why we are a return customer for other items we want addressed. Their prices are high, which is similar to other plumbing companies, but the reliability is worth it. They offer senior discount, or military discount. We will always work with a company that offers warranties, and discounts.
L S.Rude, disrespectful employees who aren't licensed journeyman plumbers. They try to upsell unnecessary items and fail to install REQUIRED items. Shoddy workmanship. They don't pull required permits nor do they ensure their work is properly inspected. You didn't do a natural gas ""leak check"" using the ""soap bubble method"". Sean was a complete a-hole to deal with.
Either you provided the wrong diagnosis, you provided bad service or installed a defective part. Whatever the case is, telling your customers the ongoing issue ""is a one time thing and it should never happen again"" is ridiculous when it happens multiple times a day for weeks. Stop stalling every time we call. Get your lazy a$$ back here and fix the problem you made exponentially worse.
