Do not buy a service contract. They don't return calls, then tell you it'll be 5 or 6 days to get a part. They have no sense of urgency or caring once they get your money. They don't honor warranties and they charge a fortune for every fix. I'm getting no service on the service contact that I paid for. I am going back to a PSE&G contact because at least they send people when something goes wrong instead of making appointments but not keeping them, or sending someone that can only diagnose a problem and not fix it, adding days and days to each process.

What a rip off!! They wanted triple to replace the same type of switch valve on my boiler that was replaced for another zone 2 years ago where I paid around $300. They wanted over $1,000. Horrible!

I would look elsewhere for a service this business is horrible they miss appointments send technicians that can't fix issues, lie outright, don't keep you updated and so on... Go somewhere else you will be glad you did.also extremely $$$ I should of read reviews before purchasing boiler do your due diligence you've been warned

Gold Medal bought out an excellent company, DesignAir, a year or 2 ago. called them for new central air system. did not finish job in 1 day, left a mess. came back, did a horrible install - they put new duct directly over attic stairs opening, effectively blocking attic access. oh, and left mess, again. I called multiple times, they sent supervisor who agreed it needed to be done over, and then - no communication. for 2 weeks. despite my repeated calls and texts. when they finally called back, I had only 1 request: I needed a Sunday install, so that I would not need to take off from work (this would be their third visit!). They refused. So, I have let them know they can pick up their equipment and remove it, I will find another company. If that is how they treat a decades-long customer (I used DesignAir often in the past 30 years), imagine what they'll do to a new customer!

Did they solve my issue - yes

BUT GROSSLY OVERCHARGED

they helped with rewiring a thermostat, reconnecting one wire on the furnace and that was it. They charged $299. The guy said dont worry about the coupon, I will give you a better price. I was lazy to actually argue given the time but man I wish I saw these comments prior to getting these guys.

Charge included tune up? what tune up? 15% discount - where is the discount. emergency fee, it wasn't, I had another company lined up to do this 2 days later, you guys just happened to have a slot today. they charged for Choose your technician, i did not choose, it was whoever was in the area.

AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE OF A COMPANY. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. They did NOT resolve our plumbing issue, and after digging up our sidewalk unnecessarily, they asked us for an additional $31,000. It was laughable and I immediately knew we were getting ripped off. We did not pay that, called a different plumber, who resolved the issue in under 5 minutes for SIGNIFICANTLY LESS. These people are RIP OFF kings who make contacting customer service not possible. I have not heard back from them and it has been 2 months since they ""serviced"" our house, and 3 weeks since I emailed them that I was formally rejecting the payment. Needless to say, I will never EVER be calling them again. They like to rip off women? Bye! Absolutely horrendous company.

Gold Medal installed two new water heaters for me; it has been an ongoing problem since those were installed. It has never gone three months without stopping. I keep having to jump-start the pilot. I was tired of calling them and taking time out of work for this issue. They drilled a hole into my basement wall and said that would fix my problems, but I still needed to fix something. It has been about two years of dealing with the same issues. No one wants to jump-start the water heaters because I'm out of town. Their customer service and manager are the worst, and they are a bunch of liars. They claimed to call me this morning when no one called; he couldn't tell which number he dialed, the time, and why he didn't leave a voicemail. I caught him on being deceitful. I missed my flight this morning waiting for a phone call because I have been without hot water for over 24 hours; there are two numbers on file for me. I waited by both phones all morning. I do not recommend this company, and finally, after two years of dealing with the issue, I will be filing a complaint with the New Jersey State Attorney's Office and the New Jersey State Plumbing Board.

Been a member for years but primarily because I was sold a long term membership as a discount when I was getting a new furnace work done. After installing an over priced furnace, they had to come three times in span of a year to fix something. One of those times, it was because a component was installed backwards. Half of the times when someone comes, they are too inexperienced and when you do get lucky with someone experienced, they will focus on up selling rather than helping you maintain your equipments. It's clear that they are incentivized to upsell as much as they can. I'm done with them after my membership runs out. I recommend searching else where if you are looking for good help with HVAC.

As a first time home owner, using Gold Medal was the worst decision I made. We had them do our bathroom in 2019. We decided to go with them because they promise a life time warranty. We recently discoved a crack on our shower floor. We contacted Gold Metal and set up an appointment for them to come and assess. They never showed up at the scheduled time. I had to call to get an ETA and then was rescheduled. A service man showed up took pictures and said someone will reach out with a plan. They never did. I contacted then and they sent another service man to take measurements. Yet again we were told someone would reach out to let us know of the next steps. No one called. We have been doing this back and forth thing for 2 months and still no resolution. DO NOT USE GOLD MEDAL. They are overpriced and don't follow through.
