Gilmore heat and air replaced first our upstairs units and then our downstairs units a couple years later. We have had nothing but problems with these units ever since they were installed three years ago. We pay every month for their service fee to supposedly get quicker service when things don't go right yet we never do. we've had to have them out five or six times this last year alone to service for both the heat and then the air both during the coldest and the hottest times of the year. .

Gilmore provided a yearly air conditioner maintenance and a diagnostic check on the primary and secondary drain lines. All out of pocket costs were explained ahead of time. Service technician Derek C. was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. We selected Gilmore because of their stellar service reputation and Derek is outstanding.

I cannot comment entirely on the quality of the company, as I've only had little experience with them with a water softener install. Though the water softener install for me was not an easy task due to location of my water main, my garage, and the nearest available drain pipe, I am very satisfied with the team at Gilmore Heating & Air (ie. Salesperson, Installers, and Office/Logistics).
Salesperson - polite, prompt and informational about the system I wanted install. Knew generally what the contractors would need to do to perform the install, and entered notes on my behalf of how I envisoned the install (ie. piping for the drain, general placement of system, and water pipe protection). Salesperson was very responsive over email and phone contact.
Installers - prompt and clean. Install team (total of 3, but from what I was told 2 were new-hires getting in some on-site training) arrived and all introduced themselves. No horseplay or unnecessary banter/chatter between them. Each installer wore boot-covers when entering the house, and laid down floor-cover for areas they needed to work on from inside the house.
Office/Logistics - not much to say here. Scheduling, billing, and update/contact was straightforward. No problems here.
Overall I am quite happy with the install from point I agreed to the install to completion.
If for some reason I move, or know someone in the market for a water softener, i will definitely suggest Gilmore be one of the teams they contact.

Two awesome young men from Gilmore came out separately and let me know the score with my HVAC. Both well informed, polite and businesslike. Unfortunately for Gilmore, another company came out also with good people and basically validated what the Gilmore people stated. Company #2 was 25% cheaper and has great Yelp reviews. Company #2 was hired to do the work. I can give apples to apples details if requested.

Do not use! Our heater went out on a Monday I was home with our son and my husband was at work. I called Gilmore they got us in that day, they did some work and when he was done he told me my motor will most likely go out in a day or 10 years and that we should start thinking about a whole new system. I'm not even going into the other bs that I was told. After he left I went out for a few hours and guess what my unit stopped working (hmmm thought they just fix it a few hours ago) I called they told me it would be another service fee. I talked to the tech and shocking it was the motor. How did he know this without coming out? Weird. To save me fees they told me I should have someone come out and discuss my options. I said ok. The salesmen told us that a unit is up to $25,000, I told him don't waste your time. After his measurements he gave us our options...$13-16,000. But my furnace was what was ""bad"" so that's what I wanted to get fix. So $6,301... I had a bad feeling so I canceled the morning of. He tried to hit me with stalking fees and permit fees. Mind you it was 7:20am. I told him if the permit is dated yesterday I'll pay for it and the load wasn't loaded yet. We then contacted another company and a contractor. When they came to check it out my husband was home and they all went up in the attic and guess what!?!? The tech literally got it working in 2 seconds!?! That fan that basically makes it all work was not in correctly/jammed... I almost spent $6,000!!! Are you kidding me!?!?! The new company did say we needed a new one which is an $80 part. Seriously! All I can say is karma. They maybe so nice and personable but they are shady and only have one thing on their mind and that's money! Stay far away!!!!!!!

My experience with Gilmore was not good. A technician came out to check out my furnace because it wasn't working properly. He did not open up the unit but he decided that the heat exchanger was cracked, which meant I needed a new furnace. I got a couple of bids amounting to $10 - 15, 000.00. I ended up calling Jeff at Shingles Springs Heating and Air because he sounded like he had a lot of knowledge. Sure enough, he looked it over thoroughly and did minor cleaning and my furnace was working just fine. I have heard other such stories about Gilmore taking advantage of people and leading them to believe that they needed a whole new unit.I was one happy camper to hear the good news from Jeff.

Our system was not heating at times so tech came out to check. He said there was many problems and bill would come to $4443! We told him to call us back next week , he never did. We had California Cooling out , they fixed it for $342 and everything is great.Goes to show you what honesty is.

Gilmore came out to repair a 12 year old heater unit and they wanted to replace the control board and a few other parts. $1,200 dollars is what they quoted me. The control board was $700 from them just for the part along with the ignitor at $130. I bought both parts for under $150 and installed them in 20 minutes. Gilmore are total ripoffs....They also tried selling me on just replacing the whole system for $7-8,000 dollars.

Poor customer service. Explained to representative that I literally just had a insured heating and air company diagnose that my gas valve needed to be replaced and asked them to give me a quote of what the price would be if that is in fact the case. The representative refused to give me a quote or even a range without me scheduling an appointment and paying the diagnostic fee! Terrible! They are clearly looking for ways to up sell and are not looking for their prospective clients best interest.
