Beware!! My oil furnace stopped working. I was pretty sure the problem was the thermostat. Gilmore technician came out and didn't even check my thermostat. Instead he told me that my oil furnace needed to be replaced with a brand-new heat pump system. He gave me a ""ballpark"" estimate of $15,000. After a sleepless night, I called Jonas Heating and Air. He came over, checked the thermostat, replaced the 4 AAA batteries in it, and charged me $20. I think Gilmore is unscrupulous and unethical. Never again.

Had Gilmore come out the other day to replace a capacitor that I knew was bad (had happened once before). The charged amount on the invoice was $325.00 for the part -- just ordered the same exact part online for $54.00. I know that there's a mark-up on parts, but 500%. Wow!

Our landlord gets bi-yearly maintenance check ups on our heating/AC unit so we see the Gilmore team somewhat regularly. I always appreciate how courteous the technicians are, truly, they are so nice and professional! During our most recent visit, my almost 2 year old son was curiously watching what the technician was doing and the tech was so nice/friendly to him, asked him questions and just went above and beyond to be kind. It was so appreciated!! If I had one criticism, it would be that sometimes we are left with black handprints on our attic access doors from techs going up and down while working on our unit, however, I gladly accept this in exchange for their great service. The office staff is always very friendly and professional as well- I would absolutely recommend Gilmore!

March 2020, my water heater died. The repair and replacement was $5,000.00. On the day of installation, the workers arrived a few hours late. The workers 'forgot' some of the tools they needed to do the job. Upon arrival, they left again for another two hours to run to Home Depot for additional supplies. My brother was assisting since I could not be home, and they did not provide him with regular arrival updates. The two men were at my house until early evening.

After the installation, the water was scalding hot and my PGE bill tripled. Further, another repairman had to come to my house because my heat was not working. He came late, and stayed late having to fix my $5,000.00 water tank. I HAD TO STAY ON TOP OF GILMORE TO COME BACK OUT AND FIX IT.

When I called PGE, they indicated it was set too high or not installed correctly. Two men came back out and lowered the heat on the water heater. They were complaining about wearing masks (I am high risk), and did not seem knowledgeable. On a separate visit from another worker, I was told by one repairman that the man that installed my heater was fired since he did not know how to fix equipment well (apparent at installation) and was bad with customers (also true). City of Sacramento inspected my water heater and said it was not installed correctly and they would be doing an in-person inspection once Gilmore fixed it again. I have sent countless emails to Gilmore regarding the status update for my inspection with the City of Sacramento, and they refuse to respond. Their customer service is horrible, their team is not knowledgeable, and very sloppy work. Not what you want on a GAS water heater installation! I am waiting to book another appointment in my home but need this finalized.

Do not go to Gilmore. Run far, far away. I am still battling for full resolution of my issue since if it fails homeowner's insurance will want to ensure it passed inspection. They are refusing to communicate with me.

Please do your research and do not go to Gilmore. I may have to take them to small claims if my concerns are not handled swiftly.

This company deserves negative stars for their installation and atrocious customer service.

I just purchased a home that had 30 solar panels installed by Gilmore only 2 years ago. Through inspections we come to find out this home has a roof that is LONG over due for replacement. We also discover the wires were just running through the attic loosely and unlabeled. Unfortunately the county inspector was too lazy to check the attic at that time and this install passed inspection. (Still should have been installed and tucked correctly regardless) This home was owned by an older lady who I'm sure just got taken for a ride by Gilmore. Now we have to pay an additional $4k to have the solar r&r'd when it should have never been installed in the first place.

When I brought this up to Gilmore I approached it very kindly and just wanted some help or direction. I was met with nothing but short attitude by the rep on the phone who had zero empathy toward this situation and just pretty much told me sorry but have a good day. She also informed me Gilmore no longer does solar so there would be nothing they could do anyways. Gee, I wonder why they don't do solar anymore....

For a company that brags about family values and great customer service they sure have an odd way of showing it.
