WHY DOES A HOME WARRANTY COMPANY USE THIS GUY? - JUST BE WARNED!

* THE HOUSECALL - Gennaro's Plumbing Inc. is being used by Select Home Warranty to make services calls. SHW sent Frank (a plumber) to our home to assess why our outdoor spa stopped working. He got here, seemed a bit rushed, walked over by our spa, didn't bother lifting the top cover to check power or anything, didn't bother removing the side panel to see what could be the problem, no trouble shooting of any kind, didn't touch the thing. He spent maybe 3-5 minutes talking with my husband and told him right away he knew what it was, ""the motor"", and just like that he started to head out. My husband asked him shouldn't he open it up and inspect to verify what the problem is? Frank said no, adding he knew it was the motor and would submit a report. I was surprised of the very short service call and more surprised when my husband told me Frank asked to be paid in CASH. I've never seen anything like Frank's service call where they don't touch the equipment they are here to inspect.

* THE FOLLOW UP - After a couple of days of not hearing from Frank OR Select Home Warranty, on next steps, my husband called Frank and left a voice message. - No call back. My husband called Frank again a day or two later and left another message. - No call back again. So my husband called the warranty co. and was told they had not received Frank's report yet and they would reach out to him. Within an hour my husband received an email from SHW denying further services, because Frank told them the problem was ""a water leak"", yet when Frank left here, he told us it was ""the motor"". I guess Frank forgot it had recently rained. And just like that SHW was done with us.

* JUST A SIDE NOTE: These home warranty co's seem to rely on ""key words"" to deny claims, and it appears they have these repair people use them to get away from repairing or replacing parts or items. We've seen in before with our refrigerator. After 7 service calls by two different co's & their techs replacing different parts on our refrigerator, a final report was submitted by the 2nd co owner who NEVER set foot in our home saying the problem was ""insulation"" and in a split second SHW denied us further service. In that case I pushed back hard on the owner challenging him considering he NEVER personally inspected our appliance. I told him I would be writing social media reviews of what he did, and just like that he changed the report. SHW accepted that new report where he removed the problem as ""insulation"", and they issued us a check for $1,700 to replace our refrigerator.

0/5 is not an option, but should be. This company is completely dishonest and not worth your time. They were dispatched for a home warranty claim on a clogged drain and they said they needed a speciality truck to complete the work. They took payment for doing nothing, and the second truck never arrived. The stopped answering their phone and they are complete criminals. I am not sure how they are able to stay in business since they are so dishonest. Every single review written on this site mirrors the experience that I had as well. Stay away from Gennaro's Plumbing!!!!

Sent out someone to assess situation and told a roof repairman was on the way. They NEVER showed. Went back and forth then told they couldn't do the work. Called probably 30 times with no assistance. Extremely disappointed! Also requested 29n days ago and rain continued. They should pay for more damage due to the delay. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!

this is company completely scam they out there to scam people and lie to them and trying to scam the home insurance's and create false claims so the can take their money even though there's no damages to anything in the property don't do business with Gennaro plumbing the fact they went out to my rental property through Rheem water heater warranty for them to check the water heater when he got there called me and said the heater isn't working because water heater defect so they will replace it but I need the insurance company for the house so I can fix the water damage cause by the water heater leak I said I'll call the insurance n he said no I'll tell what to say so I can get the claim approval right away without any questions which is he wants to lie to my insurance company so I hired contractor to look what damages he talking about it was no water damages to the wall or the box heater so when I told him all that he changed his report on the paperwork for Rheem warranty n said someone has modified the water heater professional Scam don't do business with people like that disgusting

I was having problems with my hot water heater. It took awhile, but they gave me an excellent price and were quick about installing the new hot water heater. This is a local family owned business and I will always use them.

0 stars for this outfit... First American sent this Frank Genaro plumber guy to replace my water heater, real talker this guy... After he saw an opportunity to take advantage of my situation, he called another company to get in on the action. Between the two of these so called companies, they said that I have to get my home insurance involved due to the ""damages"" caused by my leaking water heater. After all the miss information and the run around I got from them, 2 months later, I still didn't have a water heater permanently installed. Genaro was charging me another $800 to install the water heater that First American warranty was supposedly covering. Genaro said it was for the ""modifications"" needed to facilitate the installation of my WH. Bullshit! There was nothing to modify. That's all part of the installation!!! So when this Frank Genaro said ""we will get the insurance involved that way you can even make money"". I said ""I just want to have hot water for my house that's all"". But they make you think that there's thousands of dollars in damages. But instead, when I finally got someone to patch the walls only after I paid part of my deductible ($1000), I realized that there was maybe $200 to $300 tops for materials and the handyman they sent to work on the patch job that day. Let's just say $500 for his services, which is generous. So $800 total. They billed my insurance nearly $5000!!! WTF!!! I ended up paying $1750 for different plumber to install my WH after cashing out with First American for $671. Which is a separate issue all its own... All in I'm out a little over $2k and I'm paying for home warranty and insurance... WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?!?!?I'm tired of companies taking advantage of hard working honest people... THIS HAS TO STOP!!!

During all this non sense Genaro calls me finally, after a month of not getting in touch with me, to let me know that effective that day, they no longer work with First American warranty... What a cluster f_ck this company is...

These people are the worst! Tried for 3 months to work with them through my Rheem warranty. They do not return calls, they do not show up when they say they will and when they do finally show up they lie. They told Rheem my hot water heater was just outside with no cabinet so they would deny the claim. My crappy Rheem got water heater has now completely gone out and because they lied it's been a struggle! If you find out your warranty company or a manufacturer is sending out this company to look at your house please ask for somebody else! Please cancel it It will cause you so many problems. Don't give them the benefit of the doubt don't try to be nice because here I am 3 months later with absolutely no hot water for over a week now.

After the gas company red tagged our newly bought home our home warranty company got into contact with Gennaro's plumbing and sent someone 2 days later. The plumber informed us he couldnt do anything BECAUSE the gas was shut off. He told us that he was going to relay the message and hes going to have to coordinate with the gas company in order to diagnose the issue.
After we got in touch with the gas company they informed us a professional plumber would have the tools and The know how to diagnose and fix something as small as a gas leak. It took a week before we got exhausted and called it quits. Unprofessional, lied to, and plain unnecessary.

Let this one star identify as ZERO STAR REVIEW. I bought a Rheem water heater from Home Depot that needed to repaired. They had this joke of a company call me to set up a service appointment. On the day before Thanksgiving, l was prepping things for the holiday and they called around 3pm and said they were sending someone by, they were in the area and would be at the house in a half hour. The had called very quickly after I had gotten off the call with Rheem, I was impressed. The man was very nice and professional. They never showed up. They never called and said they couldn't make it. They never answered their phone when I was calling to ask when they would be at the house as I had to go to the market.
I called Rheem to let them know they cannot send them to me, I wanted someone else. FAST WATER HEATER came out and did the repair work. FAST WATER HEATER was PROFESSIONAL, CALL THEM.
Rheem had someone call me back to ask what happened with Genaro's. She was very interested in the details as they had multiple complaints about them and wanted to send the information to corporate so their contract with them could be reviewed.

So ths joke of a plumbing company could not fix a leak from a kitchen sink drain. They were sent out by a home warranty company (AHS, also a joke). They said there were access issues and missing parts. Well I have been a plumber for 35 years (by the way I specialize in water Heaters, and don't work on sink drains). I drove 2.5 hrs to and then 2.5 hrs back home to do 20 minutes of work, $12 in parts. Including the time it took me to run to Home Depot it took 1 hour to fix the leak. Less than 20 minutes actually working on the drain. This is not a plumbing company. They are a bunch of scamers.
