Its called an estimate my friend, a ball park figure based on your experience. I work at Presidio Way Veterinary Hospital. We are usually quite busy and when one of our treatment sinks begin leaking water profusely we immediately started scouring yelp to find a decent plumber. I made SEVERAL phone calls to multiple plumbers. Not only did General SF actually answer their phone, they were courteous and helpful.

Since we are a busy hospital, being without our main treatment area is devastating to business. Everywhere I called either did not return my call, or called and attempted to set up an appointment for the following afternoon. General Sf was wonderful! They asked me some questions about the problem, they even were able to have me text a few pictures of the area where the leak was so they had an idea of what they were dealing with. They feared that we would need to turn the water off to the building for a few hours to fix our problem. Of course this could not happen in the middle of the busy Friday afternoon. They were so flexible, and agreed not only to do it that day, but also to come in after 6:00! (What plumber is that flexible?)

They came in earlier in the afternoon to take a look so they could be prepared for the evening. They were able to fix it right then and there! They even followed up with us the next day and emailed our receipt.

Service was wonderful, fast, on time, and flexible. They were very attentive, responsive and delightful to work with. We will definitely be using SF general in the future. Pricing was very reasonable. they got us up and running again without any disruption to business.

I recently hired Yevgeny to take on a complete overhaul of a retail space in San Francisco. The project had a few 'surprises' due to the state of the building. However, Yevgeny took each one with a proactive attitude, giving various options and costs on how to proceed (all while dealing with my less enthused self). Furthermore, all the work completed was done the right way, without skipping corners. Everything from the faucet to the screws, he let me know what the best option was and why. Here's a list of the work completed: flooring, electrical, lighting, drywall, plumbing, framing, finishing. Lastly, he has awesome ringtones on his phone.

What can I say?
During the holiday season (Dec 2012) it rained cats and dogs. My wife came running down to me from the kitchen one night saying that their was water coming from our ceiling. I went into the garage thinking if the water leaked into the garage and there was a small puddle. This meant that it had to be taken care of immediately. I was able to rout the water from the kitchen in a couple of buckets and filled two of them up in just one night. I was lost, desperate and worried.

I saw on yelp that General SF had nothing but stellar reviews and that Yevgeny was the best. I took my chances and called him first.

Yevgeny arrived the time promised which is big in my book. He took many pictures of where the water was coming from and asked to go on the roof. He had promised another job that day but said he would return to get on our roof and take a look. When he came back, he took a picture and showed my wife. There was basically a swimming pool on our roof due to a tennis ball that got blown over the opening of the drainage pipe. He showed us a $5 grill piece from Home Depot to put over the opening so the water can just drain and not pool up.

There was damage however as he explained about a ""soft roof"" and how it needed to be repaired when the weather gets better. He explained how the water made the wood and the tarring on the roof soft and how it would be repaired. Yevgeny gave us an honest estimate for the roof repair and did not charge us anything for climbing up on our roof and removing the tennis ball.

I will be calling on Yevgeny's expertise, honestsy, workmanship and just plain excellent customer service to repair my roof and other issues that need to be fixed in my household. Yelpers - this is a good one! Use General SF for home repair.

I called and he was over in 30 minutes! He was in and out so quickly and even offered to fix my front door lock for free. Hopefully I won't need another plumber in a pinch for a while, but if I do I will be using him!

*update* I needed my kitchen sink to my unclogged. He stayed for a few hours to make sure my sink would be working properly. The best and only plumber I will use! Always very reliable and helpful! One hundred Stars!

Went beyond the call of the duty to help us. Did the job replacing the valve to a toilet. Explained all the issues and fixed it.

Even helped me adjust another toilet and also pushed in my mattress into my moving van. Definitely and highly recommend!

Yevgeny is probably the best contractor I've ever used. He is one of those people who owns a hard-working small business, is very talented at what he does and goes out of his way to help a person out.

Problem #1: our dishwasher broke
Problem #2: the owners before us cut costs by putting in hardwood floors above the floor instead of doing it correctly so floor sits above the dishwasher.

Sears would not install a new one. Other contractors said I needed to cut the floor around it or cut the granite to get one in. Expensive, ugly and huge inconvenience!

Yevgeny was recommended by our neighbors, and he was terrific! He thinks ""outside the box"" and found a solution to put in a new one without destroying our kitchen. No damage to our floors or granite! We were so happy we had other kitchen work done.

He went out of his way to give me recommendations on where to cut costs and where to buy products. He also would give me great recommendations on what I could do that seemed impossible (move the sink so can put in a bigger dishwasher and have more counterspace). He is professional, personable and helped us save a lot of money. I thank him for his fantastic work and would recommend him without reservation.
