I stupidly flushed a paper towel down my toilet and I called General SF pluming and he was so kind to me on the phone. I was having a really hard day. Had to work super late and was in excruciating pain from a procedure I had earlier in the day and came home to my house COVERED in dog poop (my dog evidently got a sick stomach during the day). I cleaned up with paper towels and I tossed one that was extra gross in the toilet (stupid - I know that now) and the toilet clogged beyond my ability to clear it. This incident was more than I could emotionally handle - I felt like I was having a panic attack. Yevgeny outlined potential solutions and the costs on the phone with me over the phone and was just so so nice. No other plumber I called was willing to give me an idea of cost. I even had a plumber - Heise's Plumbing - verbally accost and scold me, telling me ""Shame on you!"" He spoke to me with disgust and sarcasm about what he thought was the f*ck up of my entire lifetime, it was nothing short of bizarre - steer clear of Heise at all costs! General SF is the place to go if you want clear straight-forward options presented to you in a kind and prompt manner without the chiding and scare tactics. Thanks Yevgeny.

Update: I hired Yevgeny again when our shower began to back up due to a deep clog. I tried augering it myself with no success, but Yevgeny was able to remove the clog quickly! He came by very soon after I called and was as helpful and professional as always. I look forward to hiring him again.

Terrible customer service as I was struggling to get some help during the storm couple months ago. Eventually the technician came over for a quick check in my apartment, promised to get back to me but never did despite my numerous follow ups by texts and phone. Had to find a technician from a different company weeks later who actually did an amazing job.

I came home Friday night to a major plumbing issue in my kitchen. There was a block in the main line and it had resulted in a massive overflow of my sink, which flooded my floors. I called general SF in a panic and Yevgeny was at my house in an hour. Can't say enough about the quality of work, attention to detail, and willingness to stay as long as it took to get it right. I am super impressed and relieved that I have a new ""go to"" plumber!

We needed emergency late-night help when the power went out in our apartment unit. We tried flipping all the circuit breakers, to no avail. Something was really wrong. My pregnant wife and I were packing for a trip the following day, and having the power out really sucks: searching in the dark for candles & matches, fear of all the food spoiling in the fridge, and of course no WiFi.

I started calling a handful of electricians at 9pm hoping for a real person to answer, and only Yevgeny at General SF did! Even though I was freaking out a little, he was friendly and calm, asking me questions and walking me through his attempt to diagnosis our problem. Nothing seemed to work, so he agreed to make a late-night house call to help us out!

Yevgeny arrived after taking time to specially pack his car with the ALL the equipment he might need to help solve our problem. Within minutes of his arrival, he had figured out what our problem and solution was. He explained things very patiently to us both, and never gave any impression that he was trying to leave as soon as he could, even though it was so late at night. He's just a great problem-solver and an honestly good person. Next time I need help with a plumbing or electrical problem, I will jump to call Yevgeny first, and you should too. He'll make everything better!

In a prior review, Yevgeny made a partial fix to a problem with my water heater. A couple years later and the water heater finally went kaput (it was towards the end of its life). The timing was as bad as it could be, as my wife and I were in the hospital delivering our first baby, so would be coming back to a house with no hot water. Called Yevgeny who managed to fit us into his schedule quickly, order a new water heater on rush delivery (since we needed a non-standard model), and install right away. During the install he made some extra improvements we didn't discuss ahead of time, like upgrading several valves and patching some drywall around the heater - all without increasing the cost of the job. He's a great guy, and I definitely recommend him.

Yevgeny was great! I requested a quote through yelp, and he replied within the hr and talked me through the considerations for upgrading the electricals in my new home. He provided lots of useful details, gave me pricing ballparks, and helped me understand how to do it right. I really appreciate his time, especially since we were on the phone for 1/2hr at 10pm! Even though it's not an urgent request, he took the time to make sure I understood how to do it right, and that my original plan to just do it cheap may not make much sense given the big picture impact... thumbs up again for his coaching and patience with me (I am pretty clueless on this topic).
