I wish they had a negative rating. I ordered my fixtures and tub from them since they had better quality products than Lowe's or Home Depot. All of my order was special order and took 4 weeks for delivery, which we were ok with. The problem is the design center ordered wrong fixtures and incorrect tub. Every time we turned around and opened a box, it was wrong. Their response was very poor when I was trying to get correct products rushed. Didn't have much luck with the manager as well. He only called back when the delivery came. I will never use them again.

I wish I could give less than 1 star but unfortunately I have to give 1 star. I went in and spoke to a gentlemen in the design center, it was close to them closing for the day so he asked me to send him an email about what we were looking for, I did as he asked and after 5 days he never returned my email!! I called 4 more times for him that week all to be treated incredibly rude by the guys who answer the phone!!! Customer service there is awful all the way around!!!!

I have been in the plumbing field for 16 years now and I've been shopping with General Plumbing Supply in Brentwood for five years I've never had better service or better prices if I need to get any Plumbing part I'm going to General Plumbing. Rich at the counter is very helpful every time and he even cracks a few jokes which gets me out of my work mood.
They go out of their way to make sure I get the best prices and best service ....and even sometimes delivers the parts to my job if you're looking for plumbing parts don't bother going anywhere else.

They had what we needed. That's a positive.

The Negative...the man that we spoke with about a part told us we had to call the manufacturer. We had to get the part number information ourselves for the man to see if they had the part in stock.

I can see why he sent us away to the parking lot. We had to wait on hold and jump through some hoops to obtain the part number. It's interesting that the man could not look it up in his computer. We had all the information needed. It's interesting that it simply was not busy, and he made us do the leg work.

Again the positive...they had what we needed but the initial customer service was horrible. Hate to waste your time to sell something, as you seemed to have nothing else going on but to stand there.

Great customer service. They had what I needed. They carry a lot of product which you cannot locate in the chain hardware stores. Rich was very knowledgeable.

I called the plumbing supply place looking for a hot water heater. The mere fact that the darn thing went out right before a holiday was irritating enough . Anyway, I had already searched the big box stores and was really shocked to see this was almost a 700.00 item. The recommendation from pg&e was plumbing supply in Oakley. I googled it and naturally was directed to the yelp listing... I'm not one to read reviews because most people who in my opinion write reviews for plumbing supply would only do so if they had a problem. Plus a bunch of guys are hardly going to review based on a shiny metals section... guys needs are simple if you have the part in stock great they buy and bounce. Women in my opinion need a ton more conversation about the items we buy... ANYWAY.... my point... I read the reviews ( not positive) but....I needed to save some money so I called. Very, very, very polite man answered. I believe Dylan? I actually called 3 times and each time he was not at all irritated over my questions. He offered to have everything ready for my husband to pick up ( he did ) I saved 180.00 over the big box store price and I'm sooo happy I called. Even if the service was crappy I love money and I saved a ton. Thankful for great service and will highly recommend them.

very rude!! Won't even let you finish talking and cuts you off. Needs customer service training. Will not even go into shop or recommend to anyone.

Before going here I must admit that I read the reviews, but I said to myself, ""I don't have to like the people, I just need a faucet."" So much for that because about two minutes after I walked through the door I was on the receiving end of a very rude employee telling me that he couldn't help me because, ""the woman wasn't here"". I hadn't even had a chance to say anything yet.

So, if you're looking for plumbing supplies and you know exactly what you want, you don't want or need to talk to anybody and you want to experience a customer service nightmare then this is the place for you.

I'm not sure what their business model is, but it does not include being helpful. Fella didn't even know what packing was (old style of creating a gasket). Only thing he could say was ""get a plumber"". Won't be back. The woman at Ace Hardware was a lot more willing to try to help me. Went to Home Depot before Ace., and the guy there said he was treated very rudely the last time he was in General Plumbing. I'll drive further, or go to Ace.
