I did not ask your technician to fix the water heater for S40.00. I said the part only costs $40 (I knew the price as I did my homework). If he gave me a reasonable labor cost, I did't mind to pay. Btw, is $2600 for a new water heater a reasonable price?

This company is totally dishonest! At the end of January, my heating furnace suddenly stopped working. I initially called PG&E who thought it may be a bad thermostat, but couldn't be sure so advised me to contact a local HVAC company. I called 5 different companies before choosing this one. I was told it would be a $68.50 call-out fee plus the additional fee to fix the issue.

The tech arrived and spent just over an hour diagnosing the ""issue"" and said it was a bad circuit board. He said I owed $68.50 + $190 diagnosis fee + $800 for a new circuit board/install fee which he would need to come back and finish as he needed to order the part. So, a grand total of $1058.50. But, he kept pushing me that the better solution would be to get a brand new furnace for $4500-$5000!!! I googled the circuit board part after he left and found them selling online for $45-$140, so I knew I was being ripped off.

A few days ago, a friend with a voltage meter came over to give me a second opinion. We found out that it's actually the transformer that was bad (not the circuit board), so I went to the local hardware store and bought a new one for $38. My furnace is now totally fixed and works like a charm!

This company not only misdiagnosed the problem, but were trying to pressure and up-sell me for something I totally didn't need. Total rip-off merchants!!!

Super nice servicemen - but DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They are a HUGE rip off. I can't stress that enough. It's not the service guys - they get paid by the hour and are incredibly nice. But it's the company policy to get as much $$$ and their rates are outrageous. We were looking into getting our faucet replaced and they have a flat fee of 850. When asked how much it'd cost if we had our own faucet for them to install, they said 450. That means they charge 400 for a new faucet (though they claim to not differentiate between parts and labor). When discussing replacing the faucet cartridge alone, they quoted 350 - but when we ordered the part online, it literally was priced between 20 and 50 dollars. Please do not do business with them.

I recommended to a friend and I regret this as she has had nothing but problems since they installed a water heater for her. They have been to her house at least 10 times to repair it when the water heater should have been replaced! I have also hired them on 2 occasions and they are very expensive. I won't ever do business with gene burch plumbing again and you shouldn't either!

I've been using Gene Burch Plumbing & Heating for over ten years now, and their work is top-notch. I have hired them for a new furnace, zone system, master bath remodel, new water main, gas line retrofit to fireplaces, not to mention countless smaller jobs and repairs. As a single woman who owns a house, it's really important to have helpers I can count on, and Burch gives me that. Gary Burch, the owner, is great about discussing the details of the job with me, and every technician I've ever worked with has been really knowledgeable and professional. And when you call, you won't get a recording -- either Maria or Ann always answer! It's a great, family-owned company, and I give them my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

We needed to get an estimate to replace a furnace and hot water heater. Russell was very courteous and professional. He inspected some older heating units in our house as well and lit a pilot light -- all free of charge. We will definitely use them when we go ahead with the new furnace!

I have a terminally ill loved one at home, and spent nearly a whole afternoon trying to find someone who could fix his old floor furnace. Unfortunately, many Marin companies won't touch these. Even worse, everyone is booked out a week or two ahead. I contacted GB, explained our situation, and they squeezed us in for the very next day.

When the guy arrived, he took his time cleaning the furnace and assessing the potential issues causing the outage. When the pilot light went back out, he rushed back and ruled out the remaining issue. The heater now works better than it has in years -- very happy customers! Will use again in the future.

Eric fixed a tough job on my bathtub...no access (to speak of) the sprayer line had fallen under the house...another plumber told me the entire bathtub had to be taken out and SO many other things. they bid the job at $2,160.00 and Eric fixed all of that and more for $314.00. he is fabulous and is now my new plumber for all things. I'm SO grateful...

We highly recommend this company,last December ,we replaced two toilets in our house. Eric was sent by the company to do the job,two other co workers stopped by and helped Eric while waiting for the traffic to clear up,so they can go to their assignment ,,,good team work,
The toilet was well done,clean and tidy,and they are very polite,,,,j
