Of all the vendors I messaged asking for quotes on Yelp Gateway was the best by quite a bit. Daniel responded very quickly and with an extremely competitive quote ($160 to fix a shower that wouldn't drain, parts and labor included). He was able to commit to a next morning appointment via Yelp messaging, which was really important to me. When compared to other plumbers who required phone calls, back and forth without actually providing quotes, and in some cases did not call back at all, choosing Gateway was easy.

This is a business type where the service provider needs to be willing to get their hands dirty. Like really dirty. Daniel and his associate did a great job with my place, unafraid to get to the ""root"" of the issue. They take cash, check and credit card, and in my case were completely done with the job in just twenty minutes. (While some point to a short appointment as a negative, I say, it's a job I'm not doing myself and the faster you can do it, the better)

They were late, but also proactive about taking corrective action. I appreciate this in a service provider.

Gateway also offers a 30 day warranty on their work, so while I certainly hope I don't need to take advantage of it, I feel confident the problem will actually get solved in the unlikely case it isn't already.

Daniel and his folks are awesome. The new Yelp business ""request a quote"" feature allowed me to send my request to multiple vendors. Many vendors responded right away including Daniel who quoted a good price, came the same day, and took care of the problem! Daniel is good on his word for how much it cost. He is an honest and good guy. Highly recommended!

Absolutely 5* all the way. Left an urgent message about 9.30pm last night expecting to hear from Daniel in the morning but he text back about 20 mins later to say he could come see to my issue first thing in the morning!!

Arrived with two other gentlemen and off to work they went - replacing a leaking water heater that had spilled all over the garage floor. What a headache. They cleaned up the water (saving us $400 from Saver-vac), and replaced the water heater all within a few hours.

Definitely top of the list for go to plumbers in San Francisco!!

These guys are the best!!! Last night, in the storm, I arrived home to find my kitchen sink overflowing with back water. I called all the National rooter companies, all with 24 hour service and none could come out until late the next day. So I looked up local companies and came across Gateway, I called and he was at my home in 20 minutes!! Super nice guy and he got the job done!! I am now sticking with Gateway, I learned to now call them first with my plumbing needs!!
