These guys are great. They came in and helped us with a sewer emergency in my building's basement.

First visit they rooter-ed the drain, cleaned up the mess and provided us with an estimate for the replacement of the clogged pipe.

Their estimate was reasonably priced, and they did the work fast and thoroughly, and kept us well informed throughout the process. Highly recommend Gateway Rooter.

I called and left a message. Within 5 minutes they returned my call (""we'll be right there"") and in 15 more I had a fixed toilet. All this, after 3 hours of trying to fix it myself and scouring How-To articles and YouTube videos online for tricks. I could have hugged the plumber (actually, maybe I did).

Great service!! Arrived within 30 minutes and fixed the problem within minutes. The service guy even took his shoes off before entering my apt!

Came in 15 min, fixed the problem immediately. No complaints about the service and was quoted $110 on the phone. Price was fairly steep but can't beat 15 minute wait time for something that needed to be fixed right away.

When I wait to pay he offered me a discount off the $110 quote. He said $80 if you yelp so here's my review.

Dan and his crew installed a bunch of toilets for me. Very simple stuff. He knows what he's doing and if he's doing the job, I would trust it. I have to dock a couple stars for a few reasons. First, he was mucho late for one of the appointments. Like an hour late. He didn't text, didn't call. When I called, he was always ""on the way, just around the corner."" Just give me a best guess ETA, don't lie. Second, he brought a couple guys with him and they were sloppy with the caulking of the toilet against the baseboard. In one case, they didn't even do it! That's ok with me because hired help doesn't care. It's Dan's job to make sure his crew is finishing right, and he failed that bit of quality control. I was originally going to give 3 stars, but credited one star for the low service price.

fast service when we really needed it, love the 90 day warrantee as well. they were able to come on a rainy day for same dat appointment. fix the outside drain for us and dig up some nasty roots

Daniel is a true maestro of plumbing, the art of keeping water flowing and contained. I first hired him over 6 years ago, after my previous plumber, having gotten fed-up with the expensiveness of our fair city, moved out-of-state with his new family and I had a weekend emergency created by a bursted pipe under the front garden of my house. A few days before, DPW had completed a repair on the main supply line and when the service was restored, a puddle of water started to form and then a river of water was running down the sidewalk. The City denied any liability for my burst pipe, but Daniel also checked the sewer line and found roots from a sidewalk tree right above. He submitted them to The City along with all the paperwork and got them to pay for the repair that cost over $10K. He told me that my next door neighbors sewer line had roots from another tree on the sidewalk, but my neighbor didn't do anything with this information and, when their house had a sewer back up into their garage a few months later, they had to pay for the repair themselves, as The City had recently made homeowners responsible for trees (and damages they do) in front of their properties.

It was the day after the Giants won the World Series and we had a plumbing issue (over flowing toilet every hour, really gross) that needed prompt attention.

I called at least 10 plumbers and I think everyone was still recuperating from the night because nobody answered and only 2 called me back, Gateway Rooter being the first.

They were a little tardy, but the communicated with me that they were running late (and I wasn't too surprised given the amount of construction around my neighborhood... zero parking spots) so really no issue there.

The reason for the 5 stars is because they were professional, friendly and cleared up our messy problem in 5 minutes flat. They were also reasonably priced (in my book, anyway... I'm not sure what the going rate is for plumbing services but it felt reasonable to me) and I would recommend them to anyone.
