Important: While our expertise lies in underground plumbing, we also work in crawl spaces. We usually do not take on faucet, shower, or water heater projects. We provide hydro-jetting but do not specialize in drain cleaning. We install and repair septic systems, but we do not pump septic tanks.
With over 21 years of plumbing experience, our owner, Freddy Porras, leads our team. As a business, Freedom Underground has significant expertise in the installation and repair of underground utilities, employing trenchless methods that reduce expenses and time. Freddy dedicated himself to Underground Plumbing Services on February 6th, 2002, coinciding with the birth of his daughter. Using his prior plumbing knowledge and management training, he held leadership roles in several large plumbing firms in the San Jose area before establishing Freedom Underground in 2014.

We had an extremely positive experience with Freddy and his team dealing with the most challenging situation we have faced as homeowners. I called with a crisis on a weekend and his team showed up on Monday morning to diagnose and offer solutions. The quote was fair and he was very transparent about all of potential issues. The work was completed professionally, on time and on budget. Freddy checked in with us daily and was always accessible to answer our questions. I trust Freedom Underground Plumbing with all of my plumbing needs and highly recommend them for yours. It was truly a pleasure to work with the entire team.

I don't write many reviews, but wanted to recognize Freddy and team for their outstanding work. We started out with what I thought was a pretty straight forward underground main line leak and it turned out to be a rat's nest of issues caused by the original plumbing installation. Freddy was patient and fair throughout the process over three days - even coming himself on a Saturday, as we found the each ""surprise"". Freddy got the right people here at the right times and kept our water flowing through the majority of the project. They fixed things the right way stayed on the job until it was complete and verified. My advice if you have a underground plumbing issue is make one call - to Freddy. Problem solved.

We had a water leak in the main line that feeds our house. Freddy came out and gave us a quote for the repairs. We choose Freedom Underground over the others because of the response we received and the professionalism demonstrated by the owner. They arrived when they said they would, performed the repair, cleaned up the area after the work was performed and did a fantastic job! Will definitely recommend them to others.
Update: Found a broken water line to our sprinklers. Called Freddy and he had his guys come out and make the repair. No need to look anywhere else people......choose the best!

I'm sure we're not the only homeowners that got the run arounds and games from Freddy and his assistant. Perhaps our job wasn't big enough for them; they simply should have said no to the job. But they played games, wasted our time and people should be warned. We wanted to support a local service and were initially pleased that we found someone local to help us hydrojet a storm drain. The problems began almost immediately after Freddy provided a quote. It took two weeks, texts, and emails to finally get a written quote. During that time, a quote for another client was sent to me and then it took a couple more calls and emails to get the right quote by email. Once the quote was received, we asked if they could come out on a certain date about 1.5 weeks later. Literally no response. So we assumed they weren't interested. Lo and behold, I get an email the day before the date, for which we had asked, from Freddy saying he could show up the next day. A call to him, and later another email, confirmed he would be here. But he also said the job may take longer than one-hour. No problem. We arranged with our employers to work from home that day only to receive a text from Edith - AT the time that Freddy was supposed to be on the property. She texted, Freddy is waiting to confirm the new price. ""That wasn't discussed"" I wrote back. ""We have a quote and Freddy said he'd be here now. I'm waiting outside for him"". Another text, Freddy said you were going to check with other people . . . (we live in a smalll HOA). ""yes, I wrote to Freddy and he confirmed in email he received that we'll be here."" Then she writes, he's had to go to an emergency site and doesn't know how long he'll be there, he can come tomorrow morning."" . . . Well we got the picture. They weren't going to show up after all. First it was some odd question about price, and needing to confirm that we'd be here, and then oh, now Freddy is at an emergency. We had arranged to work from home and Freddy had confirmed he'd be here. I told them to let us know when they could reschedule. And btw, doesn't Freddy have crew members? We never heard from them again. It's been over a week. This is really is unfortunate given all of the great reviews. When people show you who they are, believe them. This shows how Freddy does business when he decides he doesn't want to do the job.

Mr. Porras and his team were great in helping us to replace our water line to the house. They coordinated well with the driveway paving team as the line went under the driveway and organized the inspection and clean up as well. I truly appreciate their willingness to work around the paving team's schedule and Mr. Porras' availability by phone, cell and email. Made the experience so much easier and less stressful.
From the perspective of cost, his estimate was definitely reasonable and most important, he detailed all of the job items in his contract.
I will definitely work with Freedom Underground Plumbing for future work.

Freddy came the first day to check out the water leaking issue even on Saturday. He promised to come back on Monday to check out sewage issue using camera as I thought that might be the issue. By the time he came on Monday, HOA is also looking into the issue. He even didn't charge any service fee(that's quite unheard) though HOA decided to fix it. He is my go to person for the future water leaking related problems.

Freddy and crew are awesome. If I could give them ten stars I would. I had my septic tank back up over the holidays. We had no idea where the septic tank was. I called a local septic GC nearby and I got nowhere (Told me, let me know when you find your tank and pump it out then I will come and inspect??). I reached out to Freddy and he was great. He came out on a Saturday to try and stick a camera down our drain pipe to find the septic. It was blocked. His crew came out the following Monday and saw cut my sidewalk, hand dug down 3 ft to find a clogged orange burg pipe. They ended up having to saw cut the floor of my pool pump house and dig (by shovel) down 4' to replace all the bad pipe. I didn't think it would be possible. They were like surgeons only removing what they needed to expose the work area. I was amazed at how fast they were able to dig and find the problem.
We discussed with Freddy and decided to expose the septic tank and put risers on it so now we know where our tank is and can pump out if needed. They also installed a cleanout to allow future maintenance if needed. Very professional job and price was very reasonable. If you need help with a septic or underground pipe. Call Freddy!!

Superior service, honest, fair price, fast: highly recommended! I had a water pipe leak under the front lawn and also a slow drip in a basement sewer pipe, both. My water was shut off so it was urgent. Freddy came out the same day, and at first we thought the entire water pipe from meter to house might need to be replaced. The great team, including Alex and Christopher, came that afternoon, and we found that it could just be repaired. (So honest!) The next day: all done, both jobs! (So fast! Great service!) A good price quote to repair both problems, and I am very satisfied. (I have already recommended them to a friend...a very sincere compliment...)

Freddy, the owner, is a honest guy. We have a smelly bathroom. We thought we had a plumbing or septic tank issue Freddy came over and checked it out. He had his assistant went up to the roof to examine the roof vent. As it turn out, we don't have a proper vent roof for the bathroom and that's why the bad gas has no where to go. He suggested that we find a general contractor to install the roof vent properly. He did not charge us anything for coming over. He is knowledgeable for the plumbing for the whole house. We appreciate his help very much!

We just had them install a new water line from the street to our home and they did a great job. The existing line ran under our neighbor's property, so they had to bore underground so as to not damage the neighbor's landscaping. It was far from an easy job given that there were lots of large rocks that made the boring process challenging. Given the difficulty, I think others would have likely just given up, but Freddy saw it through and was very responsive and great at communicating with us thru the entire process.
Freddy is one of the best ones out there in my opinion!
