This company is not in Redwood City. They are in San Jose and would not come to San Carlos. Even though I told them that 3 times, they still took all my info and spent 10 minute on the phone with me...putting me on hold twice before telling me they do not service San Carlos. Thanks for wasting my time.

Really Terrific, Nice, Upbeat Guys! Greeted me with a giant Hello and it was super hot out, there was no way these guys could have been this happy but they faked it and good for them!!!
Do not hesitate to call!!!

Called Fifteen Dollar about a clogged kitchen sink. They sent a plumber within 2 hours, which was good. He looked at the sink, looked under the sink, and announced that he would probably need to REPLACE THE ENTIRE SINK PLUMBING (!!!) because ""the way it was installed,"" his snake ""wouldn't fit.""
I ushered him out (visit still cost me $18 for the ""estimate""), went on Yelp and looked for another plumber. Lee Kratzer of Kratzer Plumbing returned my call immediately and we scheduled for the next morning at 9am (by then it was 7pm). At 9am promptly the plumber arrived, and cleared the clog using a plunger - took him 10 minutes. Stay away from Fifteen Dollar, they're inflating jobs to make more $$$ - what a ripoff.

When the sewer line backed up, these guys came within 3 hours of being called and got the line cleaned out with a rooter in under an hour. The plumber who came, James, was professional and courteous. Couldn't have asked for a better outcome (except for not getting a clogged line in the first place)
Total cost was $88, which they told me upfront over the phone. I called several other places first, and they all seemed more expensive and were non-committal on price (e.g. another highly rated plumber on Yelp quoted $150-$450 for the job, and wasn't available until 9 hours later).

I've not written reviews on yelp previously but i'm motivated to do so now because of my wonderful experience with these guys. Just to be clear, I have no affiliation with this company. I found them via the feedback on this site. I've had bad experiences with Roto-Rooter, Rescue Rooter and others. The worst was with ""Drain Doctor"" which tried to charge me for cleaning the main to the street, something for which they can be fined in Redwood City, AND they sold me on an expensive treatment they assured would keep the line clear of roots for much longer. Well, two and a half months later, I found myself in need of another clean-out - but this time slightly panicked about being ripped off yet again....I just could not fathom paying another $300 for a mere few root- free months! The woman on the phone told me up front the cost would be $88 for the first hour. I took the chance after reading these reviews, hoping they would not spend more than an hour on the clean-out. John and another man came out and had the line clear in ten minutes! They didn't charge me extra for coming out in the evening. They were very helpful in terms of explaining how the ""salesmanship"" works with the big companies. (They get paid on commission so they're motivated to up-sell AND to not thoroughly remove the roots so they'll have to come back again within a few months.) He was very professional in terms of not wanting me to tell him the names of the companies I'd dealt with, but also expressing his disappointment with people in his industry. I'll be using them for any and all services and repairs in the future. In fact, I've asked them to come back and take care of a few other repairs in my home this week. Wow, what a relief........

These guys were Great ! Another company came first to clear out our main line and quoted me $225. These guys arrived in 45 minutes and charged me $88.
Thanks Benny and Louis

I had a great experience with this outfit. Called to get my kitchen sink fixed/snaked out. Jason was able to clear the line and showed me how to prevent further issues. He was honest and helpful. I asked him to loook at another plumbing issue that two other companies had been out to evalaute only to tell me I had to replumb and remodel the bathrooom, due to a leaking shower control valve.
To my disbelief, Jason pops out the cartridge from the control valve and replaces it with a new one in about ten minutes. I was sold a bill of goods by the other two plumbers when they told me no replacment parts were availble for KOHL. $15, were less expensive then everyone else I have ever had to the house. I will never call another guy out as long as these guys are in business! 32yrs is a good record. Now I know why. Thanks Jason. Great job.

I just had a marvelous experience with this company. My sewer was overflowing, they came right over. The work person was very nice and comfortable to deal with. There was no hassle, no upselling, no weirdness and the job was completed in a short time.
I will call them again in a heart beat (that is if I need them which I hope I don't!)
Thanks 15!

Complete incompetence. Here's my story.
I live in a rental apartment whose owner has an account with Fifteen Dollar. I called them around 10 am asking for a service. The said that the owner has to contact them first to authorize the repairs. They refused to even preliminarily schedule it nor to make a call to the owner themselves, which would have simplified the constant phone tag. Next, the owner calls them to approve the service. Great. I get an appointment at 11:40 for a 1:30 to 3:30 time window.
I got home at 1:30, the guy arrived at 2:40, took 5 minutes to look at the problem, then told me he needed to get another approval, which would take a few minutes. An hour later, I took a peek outside, and he was there, just hanging out in the street. Said he was still waiting for the approval (it's a simple fix, way within the expected range for a plumbing service, so they could've EASILY asked for an approval for up to some amount).
THEN, after he got the approval, he said he needed to run around the corner to pick up some parts. Could that not have been done while waiting for the second approval? In any case, 45 min later, he finally showed up with the parts and is trying to fix the issue. It's been over 150 minutes since I've been sitting here wasting my time.
Avoid at all cost, unless you don't value your own time.

This plumber will NOT service the city of East Palo Alto, 10min away.
