Karen L.I have been and FH Furr preferred customer since they installed my Trane HVAC and AC unit 8 years ago. I pay every year for a contract to have two cleanings done on my HVAC and AC a year. Lately I have been jerked around with appointments being changed and I have to sit and wait for them to come. Today is my second day of waiting for someone to come clean and fix the AC unit which is blowing just circulation air like a fan. I was canceled Monday because somebody needed big repair's and I was the next person on the technician's list so therefore I was cancelled. today Tuesday you would have thought I would have been the first one on the technician's list for service. Oh no I'm not. I'm still sitting here waiting waiting waiting. Reminds me of the gasoline issues we had back in the late 70s so someone has cut in front of me and got serviced before me. It may be time now to find another company and sign a new service contract. I am not a happy customer at all.
Slow, expensive, poor. Got remodeling done in kitchen and bath. Took 7 months from sale visit. Left messes and trash all over the house for months. Beat up my floors. They measured wrong and couldn't fit items I ordered. Crooked walls put in. They painted the bathroom at least four times and still missed spots. New doors are all crooked. Tried to add charges for redoing their own plumbing mistakes.
It has been a few weeks since they finished. Toilet started leaking. Calk-work is cracking. Supposedly 'real wood' cabinets have bubbling water damage. Still trying to clean up grout on tiles and fill in holes left in trim. (They came to fix the toilet under warranty ---they generally have a don't worry about doing it right we will come back and fix it and get more hours attitude)
I use to use Furr years ago and I stopped. I didn't remember why but I suspected it was based on the prices they charged. But, after a couple of years, I thought I would give them another try when I had water at the bottom of my water heater. The guy came out and was very nice. He inspected the water heater and said it showed drip marks down the side. I didn't look but took his word that was the problem. I have 2 75 gallon gas water heaters. The one that was suspect was replaced in 2013 and the other is original about 20 years old. Still works fine. He told me I should replace both. I asked how much and he quoted $7,000. The one replaced in 2013 is a Kenmore. The other is an AO Smith. He told me Kenmore was the problem. He said they are junk. However, I know that the Kenmore's are built by the same people that build AO Smith heaters. I made sure of that when I bought it from Sears. It just has the Kenmore name on it. $3,500 each for water heaters is completely outrageous and I told him so. While he was here, I asked for an estimate for two clogged bathtub drains. He wanted $750 to clean both. Again, CRAZY!!! So, I sent him on his way without doing anything. Afterwards, I inspected the area of the tank he said showed signs of a leak. It was dust nothing more. That was a load of TWODDLE. I also got my drains cleaned for about $500 less than he quoted and my water heaters are working fine. Don't use FURR. You can do better.
We have been a customer for multiple decades. Not any longer. We contracted with them to remodel a master bath, our third with them. Something has definitely changed. They are all about schedule to the point that they do not QC their own work. The tile work was very sloppy such that it took them multiple times to straighten out corner cuts, get rid of tile edges budging out, etc. Each time the tile person walked away thinking he was done. If we didn't say anything he would not have done more as he didn't care what it looked like or he wouldn't have installed it that way to start with. Literally we had to stop work to get their attention to the mess. Scheduler didn't get it as he wanted to keep installing stuff. Only when I called into the office asking for someone in senior management did he start realizing we were not happy. Sales guy left the impression he didn't care. He certainly had no urgency to fix anything or stop by to see if it was done correctly. If the tile on top is sloppy I have no confidence that the layers below the tile are installed properly. To top off his sloppy work the tile guy cut the tile in a closed garage but he left the door to the living area open so tile dust is on everything in the garage and in living areas. Tile dust can't be just dusted off it has to be washed off. The drywall person had to come back multiple times for areas he missed. When I called him he knew he missed them but never asked us to confirm he was supposed to do them. Again just walked away. Even the electrician started putting an outlet box in the wrong place and in the end it had to be moved yet again. The impression I have is they only care about schedule, not doing a good job. No one came by to do QC on what was being installed.
Basically be prepared to inspect every aspect of the install and doing what you have to do to get their attention to fix it. If you don't say something it won't get corrected for they don't care. Their fixed price approach to HVAC/plumbing has always been high but they seem to do a decent job. Not anymore based on this experience. We will never use them again.
Karen A.I am so angry with you all right now. We have been long standing customers with FHFurr, we even have a contract with you. I have never had anything but good things to say about the plumbing and heating/ac services you have provided. Well that has all changed.
We needed a new faucet because the sprayer was leaking water all over the place. I bought a sink and faucet from Costco and was going to have my son in law install it. Then I decided to let the professionals handle it since we were going from a double sink to a single. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!
Plumber came out and said the sink I ordered was not good and talked me into one of your sinks and faucets at 10 times what I spent for the Costco sink. Okay, fine. Plumber comes to install the sink and the counters need to be cut to make the sink fit so he half does stuff and takes off - this is Friday Feb 1st. Okay, fine. Monday Feb 4th the stone cutters come and fix the counters but the plumber never shows that day even though he kept telling me he would be out later. Tuesday he comes and installs the sink. This is what I find when I get home from work. Very dangerous because the edge of that is super sharp.
Well now it's Mar 15th, 5 weeks later and my sink still looks the same way. My husband is on major blood thinners and has to stay away because if he gets near the thing and cuts himself it could be life threatening.
During this 5 week period we have been given appointments no less than 10 times. I have taken off work, we have rescheduled other appointments, we have juggled all kinds of things to make sure someone is home when they want to come. EACH TIME SHORTLY BEFORE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO COME WE GET SOME EXCUSE FOR WHY THEY AREN'T COMING OR THEY JUST DON'T SHOW UP, EACH TIME!!! Same thing happened today, AGAIN - I was promised that his would be taken care of earlier this week and it was pushed to today and now there is another excuse.
In the mean time I have already been billed close to $3000 (which is ridiculous and not what I was quoted), not including the cash I paid the stone cutters when they came out. I could just kick myself, I had a sink and faucet that cost me $250 that had great reviews and my son in law would have installed it and done it properly for free. I am out almost $3500 for something that is a hazard and I will have to find someone else to take out and replace.
I am so angry I can't see straight and the amount of stress you people have caused my husband and I is unacceptable. I know that our business is just a drop in the bucket for you and it probably doesn't bother you one bit to lose it.
We contacted FH Furr late last year to check our HVAC going into winter and the tech, Dillon, arrived 20 minutes into his service window, and completed the inside and outside inspections within 45 minutes.
We asked FH Furr to install a Nest thermostat this past week and the tech, Roy, arrived about an hour and a half before the scheduled time, after having called to verify that early arrival would work, and completed his work in about the same amount of time, since some additional wiring needed to be done.
Both techs were professional in appearance and deportment, worked with nice organization, and in detail walked us through what had been done and concisely answered our questions. Jobs well done.
Michael P.Had some work done to my heating system about a week ago and so far so good. I have been struggling to keep alive my 12 year old unit but to me its well worth having FH Furr come out and bandage it up. I am not financially ready to take on purchasing a brand new unit so I am okay just doing patch up work for the time being. I have nothing but great things to say about this company. I have used them 4 times in the past. The only reason I don't give them a 5 star is because they arrived an hour later than we had originally agreed upon. Other than that the man that worked on the unit was very nice and communicated well. I will be using them again if need be!
They need to reduce the volume of their advertisements on sony crackle. Every time one of their terrible ads come on, I am forced to turn down the TV volume, if I do not turn down the TV volume I get a terrible headache. This advertisement turns me away from their service if anything. I will never buy from them because of this and I hope they learn to use an appropriate volume on all future advertisements.
Winston F.UPDATE: The expression of concern from ""Tiffany"" is a fake. I provided my contact info to her and never heard a thing back.
Sue R.Let me tell you a story about our experience with FH Furr. They came to our house to perform a conversion of our oil furnace to a gas furnace. This project started in October 2018. The 3-day furnace conversion was finally completed 2 weeks later with more than $16,000 damage to our house. At first they were great! We thought: accidents do happen but as long as they make it right, it will be okay. Unfortunately, their promises to make it right turned very hollow, very quickly. No one from the management team even came to check out the damage they caused. They offered us around 1/3 the estimated repair costs to fix the damage. We ended up having to go through our home owner's insurance policy to repair our home. Here we are in February, 2019 and we are still working to get our home back in shape. Advice to all, if you are considering to use FH Furr, reconsider.
