Our water heater was 15 years old, I called Neil to check it out, he came the next business day. Sure enough all the pipes were corroded and ready to leak. He replaced not only the old heater but the connecting pipes, valves, drip pan, overflow compartment and drainage pipe.
He got done in 3 hours, left the place cleaner than he found it and best of all matched the lowest quote that we got over the phone.
I highly recommend him for all your water heater needs.

Wow, wow, wow...Neil is AWESOME! Yesterday, we noticed our water heater was defective and that it needed to be replaced. We searched around for plumbing services, but couldn't find an all-inclusive solution until my neighbor referred us to Express Water Heaters. Our home is relatively new (2 years old) and our tankless gas hotwater heater started leaking water. The tank manufacture authorized a replacement due to warranty. I reached out to numerous companies on Yelp to install the new water heater. Neil responded very quickly and came out the very next day (Saturday) to assessed the situation. He provided a reasonable and very competitive quote. As soon as the new water heater was available, Neil returned to install it. He arrived on time, was thorough in his explanation, excellent customer service, and the quality of his work was fantastic. Visually the piping looks better than the original install! Oh my goodness--Neil at Express Water Heaters is awesome! We were in escrow purchasing a house and the seller continued to claim that the issues with the water heater were fixed. We called Express Water Heaters and Neil came out immediately and was able to meet us and the seller at the same time. The work that needed to be done was extensive, despite what the owner claimed, and Neil was the perfect person to call because he was quickly able to explain what needed to be done and made himself available immediately. He took care of the problem that day and did a perfect job! We couldn't be happier! You can't get better service than that!!

My mother's property manager for a rental condo in Carlsbad hired this company ""sight unseen"" off Yelp reviews to do a simple remove and replace on an existing 40 gal. gas water heater, located on an outdoor patio in a ground floor unit.

Labor and materials, including upselling for an ""expansion tank"" (only required by building code in NEW construction NOT replacement of existing) ran $1800.

When I approached the owner, Robert, about the excessiveness of his charges, particularly the expansion tank addition, he insisted it was required by code. I informed him that I had both spoken to the building department in Carlsbad AND researched the code online and knew the tanks were only required in NEW construction. He stated that the person I spoke to at the City was obviously misinformed and I must have read ""old"" information on the web.

I just had my 40 gal ELECTRIC (more expensive than gas) water heater go out in my Carlsbad condo. Garage installation. $700 for purchase, labor and haul away of old. No expansion tank required.

I think that pretty much speaks for itself.
