I called to get a quote to replace a hot water heater and got a competitive price quoted to me over the phone followed by them showing up in person to inspect the condition of my current connections to my current water heater and finalize a firm quote and installation time. The price ended up matching the over the phone quote and the next day Luke and Luke arrived and replaced my water heater. They were fast, thorough and professional - would use again.

Excel helped us out of a real jam. We were less than 24 hours from closing and suddenly a fitting on our washing machine line needed to be replaced. They were able to schedule us for the next morning, diagnosed the issue and fixed it within a couple hours. The cost was a little high, but considering our situation, I was glad to have it fixed. Michael was wonderful, explained what needed to be done and didn't try to sell us on repairs we didn't need. Definitely would use them again.

I was getting nervous during heavy rains since my sump pump is old and cheap. Seem like everybody's basement flood nightmare story always leads back to a ""should've replaced my sump pump"" punchline at the end. These guys replace a ton of them so it was an easy straightforward job for them. They had no problem working around my radon seal and sealing it back up when they were done. Replaced my old pump with a high quality primary+secondary two-pump system with a battery backup. I can rest well now through the fall season.

We called on Excel twice in a 2 week period for service at our son's new but vintage home. Overall, it was a very positive experience. The first time was for a battery backup sump pump installation before winter. The scheduling and quote over the phone with the office staff was painless and informative. And it was a firm quote with two different options: if a new primary pump was needed or not. The technician was friendly, clean and did a great job figuring out the convoluted mess of plumbing in the basement and was meticulous in getting things done properly. The only somewhat negative experience was that I got up for an 8am appointment and they called that morning to reschedule to that afternoon due to an overnight emergency. Not a big deal in times of COVID when a lot of people are working from home but it delayed plans for the afternoon.

The second visit was more of an emergency with a leaking toilet that needed a new wax ring. I called the day before and they came out first thing the next morning as scheduled and on time. Work was done efficiently and the plumber was clean and friendly (again with booties and a mask).

Overall, we would call Excel again for plumbing service. I feel their prices may be slightly higher than others based on other firms I called, but the work is good and I like the fact you get a fixed quote for the work up front! None of that: ""oh, we have to install this part and that was not in our estimate."" Maybe you pay $30 more sometimes, but I feel in the end it gives you peace of mind as there are no hidden fees, trip charges, or you are not sitting there in your house wondering if you are getting milked while some plumber goes out to their truck for 10 minutes to get a part and you are getting charged by the hour!
