I would read Yasmin V.'s review and whatever she wrote, I would second. We just closed on our first home ever, and PSL was our very first project. Book them early (we booked them before we closed and even sent the deposit check to Everest before closing). If all of our upcoming renovations go as smoothly as how it went with Everest Plumbing, the renovations gods will have blessed us. Got the compliance certificate the night that work was completed. Amazingly smooth.

I would highly-recommend Everest Plumbing to anyone who needs a sewer lateral replacement. When we bought our home in November, we knew we had to do our sewer lateral and estimated it would cost anywhere from 5,500-8k. (The bid with our disclosures was 5,999).

After researching and quoting four plumbing services, Tsering and Lhakpa stood out from the rest in their genuine and thoughtful approach. They were incredibly responsive over email (I think Lhapka and I emailed over 8x and she would respond within the hour) and phone. Tsering came to look at our home twice - examining the basement, etc, making notes, and emailed a thorough estimate of $6500. This was very much on par with the three other plumbers. Why choose them? Because I actually felt good giving them our money. Hard-working, honest people.

I mailed a deposit check and we scheduled a date easily but rescheduled the day before due to rain. Lhakpa had alternate options ready for me, and confirmed the day prior. Tsering and his team showed up early and worked well beyond the quoted 6-7 hrs time (our sewer line was ~6' down instead of the usual ~3'). My quote stayed the same despite the unexpected depth. I think they worked for at least 10 hours. I gave them a nice tip for the extra labor/time and it was well worth it. (To note, we had three sewer outputs - can't recall the specific term - from our home to our sewer line and from what I understood there's usually one so this may have added to our quote and time).

Tsering and his crew were so professional and explained everything. The inspector came and gave approval. Tsering organized everything on his end with the City. They also did a really clean job on the concrete refill/patching of our driveway and street. They cleaned everything when they were done. One they left no one would have known that half our driveway was excavated.

One final note, Tsering also wanted to be sure I had my inspection certificate in my email before he would accept my check. Seriously, so thoughtful and professional start to finish. We couldn't have been happier with using them.

Update: Everest got back to me today to reschedule our appt. and apologized for the mistake. Hopefully it all works out.

They got our appointment date wrong and refused to acknowledge that the error was theirs until I mentioned that it was very clearly stated in my email confirmation.

I'm very disappointed in my experience with Everest Plumbing so far. My partner and I bought a home recently and the seller refused to get the sewer lateral inspected/repaired. Because of this we had to deposit the $4500 to EBMUD until the work was finished.

We contacted Everest plumbing, and scheduled our work. The date was very important as we were having termite fumigation scheduled for the next 3 days. When I contacted them to confirm our appointment on the day the work was supposed to begin, the person on the phone told me that I had gotten the date wrong. Nope, I have proof. She said they would try to fit us in, but wouldn't give me an appointment window and tried to act like it was a scheduling error on our end. Again, nope.

It's been 2 days now, and I haven't heard back from them. Meanwhile, we've got $4500 tied up that we need to use for other renovation work. Lame.

I can't say enough good things about Everest Plumbing. We got 5 quotes from sewer lateral companies in Berkeley - Everest Plumbing was very competitively priced. The work itself was done very promptly and efficiently, and Tsering handled every aspect of getting City approval. Absolutely the best that we could have hoped for from the sewer lateral process!

When we had to do our sewer lateral we called several places for quotes Everest was the best price in the area and gave a thorough description of the job. Tsering was punctual, easy to work with, and did everything on time. I would definitely recommend them.

We needed to replace our sewer lateral and went with Everest Plumbing due to the great Yelp ratings. Their response to the request for a bid was fast and the work was completed in the time and for the price that was bid, however, there were other issues. The team damaged some existing plumbing during the sewer lateral replacement. The resultant damage caused a leak from our washing machine drain, that lead to the washing machine runoff flowing under the house and not into the sewer lateral. There was no issue with a leak before the work on the sewer lateral. I contacted Tsering and he sent his team out a couple of days later to take a look. Tsering let me know that the pipe was old and he would not repair the damage. He then told me that ""any plumber would laugh in my face if I asked them to do what I was asking him to do"". All I wanted him to do was repair the connection between the drain and the sewer lateral. The work that his team did was directly connected to the damage and he refused to take any ownership. He also asked me if I was a first time home owner and if I were that I should get used to it...

Great company! Quick responses to emails and phone calls. Very friendly workers, got the job done in one day. And great prices! I couldn't find a company that did a good job and had low prices! I would def recommend them!
