D G.My AC wasn't working so Estes came out. Tech said it was the contactor and he had to replace it and it would cost $280 for the part. It wasn't under warranty because it had been replaced 18 months ago. I take the box where the contactor came in as he's replacing it and look up the part online. It costs less than $20 for the same exact part and brand. That's nearly 15x the markup on the part.
Kenneth O.Scheduled annual inspection. Estes called to confirm, tech called to tell me that he was 30 mins away and was that OK and he arrived within 30 mins. Put on booties before he came in. He put a new filter in, checked the whole system and reviewed everything with me.
My elderly, disabled mother has had no heating in her home for about four days now. I have called the emergency service number twice and have left a message with a live agent. No call back. I am actually on hold again now going through the same drill. Very disappointing, frustrating and actually dangerous to have my mother living in this degree of cold. We have space heaters going to get by which tend to blow a circuit. Her system was installed by Estes and serviced thereafter. I am tempted to ask them to come and get their system so I can get one installed by a better company that has reliable customer service.
Estes left us high and dry the day before record lows. Technician was a no show, although he """"clocked in"""" and out one minute later (at 8:46pm). We were waiting by the door. I don't think he even came to the property. We had already had one tech out a couple days earlier who showed up unprepared to recharge our system even though they knew it was low on refrigerant (he was out to do a leak test). Bitterly disappointed and utterly shocked at the unprofessionalism and lack of concern for our well being.
The service team of Jered M & Jason did a great job in the installation of our replacement heat pump unit. They' work efficiently and completed the job within 4 hours. They reviewed with us the working of the new replacement unit. They were very courteous and insured that their shoes were covered when entering the house. Great experience.
This company is a total joke. Their prices are three times the going rate. I allowed my son to repair my heating. It was over $10,000.
I don't write reviews. But in this circumstance, it seemed necessary to let people know exactly what they should expect from Estes in terms of service and communication. I booked an initial inspection and routine maintenance service on May 4th and was immediately charged for that service. The appointment was set for the morning window. Approximately two hours into the appointment, Estes called to let me know they wouldn't be able to honor the appointment due to problems with the work truck. After rescheduling, I specifically requested a first in the morning appointment and was granted one between 8:00 and 9:00 am and received a confirming email the day before. When it reached 9:00 with no word, I called and was told that the appointment was actually a 8:00 - 10:00 appointment and that the tech would be at my house by 10:00 am. Within 10 minutes, Estes called back to tell me the tech was getting the brakes checked (car problems again) and they would need to extend the appointment window to 8:00 - 12:00. Finally, twenty minutes before noon, I got a call that they would not be able to make the appointment. On the plus side they refunded my money quickly. TLDR - Estes will not honor their appointments; they will be disrespectful of your time and you should avoid doing business with them.
I called and set up appt for them to come look at the top floor unit which went out overnight. The tech was friendly. He worked an hour or so. I was told he cleaned my coils, reduced my freon levels, and adjusted some other stuff. Before leaving, I mentioned it still seemed like the air wasn't cold. At this point it was 77 degrees on that level. As the next 4 hours passed, it rose to 83 degrees inside. I texted and asked him to come back as it was not working. The tech came back the next day only to tell me it was working fine according to his equipment; it was just the heat outside. Bare in mind, my system never ran all the time prior to this break down. My system pushes cold enough air to even in high 90 degree temps, it still cycles on and off day and night. I just said oh well. I called another AC repair company. They came out and checked things out. He cleaned the coils, which is something Estes tech said he performed. Not happy about that. After the 2nd company left, within an hour my temp had already dropped 1 degree. It has now been about 3.5 hours and the upstairs is now at a comfortable temp. Estes did a lousy job. And to make things worse, they had the nerve to be more concerned about selling me a service plan with them, than making sure the customer was satisfied. This was a waste of a few hundred dollars with Estes. Will never call them again. signed McDonough Homeowner
Juan M.Estes had excellent service, they were very knowledgeable and had outstanding customer care from start to finish. Their team showed up on time and did a great job. Estes kept us informed and answered any questions that we had along the way. We have been extremely pleased with Estes services
Green K.Our HVAC wasn't cooling so they had to send a tech out to diagnose the problem. He recommended us we replace it because it was old and that if he fixed it now, he didn't know when it'd go down again. We were told twice by 2 different people at 2 different times that if we got it fixed temporarily, that cost would be deducted from the total of a new HVAC system. We agreed to get it replaced when it went down a 2-3 weeks later, after everything was installed, they said that the 2 employees shouldn't have said that the temporary cost was going to be credited. In addition, we were supposed to have a sales rep come out to show us the different options of the HVACs as the tech arranged a day and time for us. The day came and nobody showed up. So Estes isn't a reliable company and the manager Nicole isn't either. We asked for an invoice and she sent us an invoice with cost not even broken down..just the total and a basic description...Why would we have asked for an invoice if we were going to receive just that... We ended up using a different Heating and Cooling Company for another HVAC, and they were more reliable.
