Great-grandfather Difranco immigrated from Italy many years ago and was a skilled tradesman. In Cleveland, Ohio, my grandfather Eugene Difranco also practiced as a tradesman. My father worked as a tradesman under my grandfather until 1986, when he moved to California and started a business in Palm Springs, which I, Dane Feldman, joined. When my grandfather passed away, we felt compelled to create a new company as a tribute to him. Today, Erkies Electrical Heating and Air serves the Coachella Valley. Rest in peace, Eugene Difranco.

I’m Dane, and I’ve been in the trade since I was a kid. In 1994, I joined my father in the Coachella Valley, where I focused on perfecting my skills in electrical, heating, and air conditioning. All these years later, I’m still dedicated to serving the community I cherish and continuing our family tradition.

Outstanding service and follow up. I have a second home in Palm Springs and recently encountered a problem with my air conditioning unit. I placed a call after hours to Erkies and they responded immediately with a very professional technician who quickly diagnosed the problem. They provided frequent updates on the status of the repair and had my system back up and running the day that the replacement part arrived. Maybe it's because I am used to the terrible service of ""everything LA"" but these guys are top notch. I called after hours just to see if I could get anyone to come to my place to service my AC. (It took forever to chill after sitting for a few weeks.) Somebody actually picked up. He took all of my information and said that I would get a call in the morning at 9a to schedule an appointment. That happened. She got me scheduled for the next hour. One hour later, they showed up. He was awesome. He inspected my unit, cleaned it, got up in my attic and serviced my unit. He explained where my coolant level should be and said it was a tiny bit low but that it wasn't necessary to refill it. Imagine that, no up sell! He asked me about my heating needs in the winter too. He said that I had a lot of dust in my unit but that nothing was going bad and everything was in perfect working order. He then charged me the $79.99 which was exactly what was quoted to me on the phone.. In summary, on time, friendly, knowledgeable and honest. I will never call another AC/Electrical place in Palm Springs. They've got my business. Excellent people, excellent service.

What a great experience I just had. Staying at a friend's house in Palm Springs and the A/C went out. We called Erkie's and they quoted the best price for sending out a technician for diagnosis. The technician, Jamie, arrived on time with 15 minutes head up as we requested. He was professional and diligent. Jamie diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and then performed full regular maintenance on the system. Very inexpensive, very professional, and very thorough. What more could you ask for?

I just love this company! 2x now they have bailed me out of a sticky situation. First as having some vents replaced whuch magically dissappeared one day. Quick, professional and solid value. The second time was recently. Had two new guests staying at my house for the weekend and out of nowhere, no warning, the AC stopped working in June!?!

I got some pretty perturbed texts from my guest at 9pm and really had no idea what to do since I was in Seatle on business! No problem for Erkies-they dispatched a tech and within 1hr or so he arrived fixed the problem and left an invoice for me to pay during business hours or online! PHEW!

Again, fast, professional, thorough (made some recommendations) and on their way. Great service great prices, cant say enough good about my experiences! And in Palm Springs and the desert communities, I have found that good, reliable, consistent help is like gold! And Erkies may be the standard!

Dane and the team are stellar! They go above and beyond and exceed my expectations everytime. I use them for both HVAC and electrical. Their pricing is reasonable and their service excellent. I had two quotes of over $3500 to fix one of the units at my office. Erkie's showed up and hooked up the thermostat properly and the unit started functioning normally. I had the same experience as the other 1 star reviewers. I had them come out to fix an electrical problem. I had an awning that when touched you would get shocked. How the fixed it? By pulling the breaker. Well this seemed to cure the problem when my tenant called me a week later and said now there was no power at all to a back room. Called Erkies back out. They said they couldn't find the reason but it was apparent the house needed to be re-wired. I said fine - please get me an estimate and let me know when this work can be done. After 2 follow-up e-mails and 2 phone calls to their office I never heard back. My last e-mail to them was on 08/01/14. A week later - Earl shows up to the house with no forewarning. No call, No Appt - nothing. I asked him why hadn't they responded to my e-mails and phone calls. He says that I never e-mailed or called. Well...I don't know what their problem is with not getting messages - but I certainly saw this as poor business professionalism or management - as I certainly did e-mail twice and call twice - spoke to his office person - Wanda. Told him thanks but no thanks. If his company doesn't have the business professional awareness to respond to phone calls, e-mails etc then it is a good reflection of the type of electrical service they would provide.
