Years ago, my great-grandfather Difranco arrived from Italy and became a tradesman. Eugene Difranco, my grandfather, lived in Cleveland, Ohio, and was also a tradesman. My father worked as a tradesman under my grandfather until 1986, when he moved to California and started a business in Palm Springs, which I, Dane Feldman, joined. When my grandfather passed away, we felt compelled to create a new company as a tribute to him. Now, the Coachella Valley proudly hosts Erkies Electrical Heating and Air. In memory of Eugene Difranco.

I’m Dane, and I’ve been in the trade since I was a kid. In 1994, I began working with my father in the Coachella Valley, where I truly honed my skills in electrical, heating, and air conditioning. Today, I remain committed to the place I call home and to advancing our family’s legacy.

I had a circuit breaker that kept tripping. Erkies Electrical sent a non licensed electrician. After a couple hours, and after he broke the cable to my TV, he said he was unable to fix the problem. The owner of Erkies, Dane, came to the house and determined the problem was a short in a switch to the outside lights. He disconnected the switch and left. The other employee came to me with an invoice of $429.00. I thought that was high, but paid him. The next day the circuit breaker tripped again. I called the office and told the receptionist, ""the same circuit was still having a problem"". She sent someone out. The employee who came out taped a frayed wire that the previous employee damaged, and also he replaced the circuit breaker without my consent. He then gave me an invoice for $390.00 on top of the $429.00 I already paid. I said, ""that was too much and please put back the old circuit breaker"". He said he would, but I would still pay a charge. The next day I received an invoice for a $320.00 service and labor charge for something I did not authorize. Also, it took the employee less than 5 minutes to put back the original circuit breaker.

I am a senior citizen in my 70s, It is not right that they try to take advantage of seniors.

Beware, Dane the owner posting lies and false statements on his own yelp page. We never replaced the fan as he states, because it was never the problem. We had no freon leak either. This company not only did not rectify their negligence they now make false statements about us replacing a fan and having a freon leak. The pictures included have nothing to do with a ""freon leak"", further reason to stay away from this company. The business goes out of the way to make false statements and outright lie on Yelp rather than make things right with customers they scammed. Extremely unprofessional, beware all customers. They did not apologize in any shape or form for anything period. Also, more lies. Ron the manager actually told us we ""would have"" been compensated had we not already written a bad review of our experience with their services. Stay away from this company.

My AC went down last night. I went outside and heard the compressor with an electrical humming going on and the fan wasn't spinning. The AC in the house was just pushing air. I turned it off, went back outside and unplugged the fuse for the compressor. Waited ten minutes and tried everything again. Nothing. I called an awesome neighbor, and he said it probably wouldn't be the fuse, but the capacitator on the compressor. I had totally forgot about that, and it's one of the top things that go bad. I took off the side panel, and it was bulging at the top, but not leaking any chemical. I knew it was bad. No HW stores on a Saturday night, so I came on yelp and looked at a coupon I had from Val-Pak mail and started calling AC repair companies. I know...LOL. I usually throw Val Pack away, but glad I didn't this time. I didn't like the quality, pricing or their unintelligent call staff of the major desert AC company that put this unit in and that had been doing the originally maintenance. LONG story on that! Sorry for the long story above, but I want people to know what to possibly look for when the AC blows warm air.

Anyhow, called Erkies. The woman on the phone who worked with me, understood the severity, was professional and very nice. She immediately went to work, found my tech Josh and he was at my house in Rancho Mirage. The call and getting Josh here only took 45 minutes at most at 8:00 PM on a Saturday. Amazing! I told him what I thought the issue was, he agreed, replaced it AND gave the compressor itself a good testing. Everything else was fine. Josh was also professional, nice, listened and actually cared about what he does! The price was very fair. And no lies or BS that something else might be wrong.

Overall, a big A+ from the woman on the phone call, to the technician Josh. I can tell you they'll be my maintenance company from now on and I'll probably have them add some return vents when it gets colder outside. Too d**n hot out now to have him do that. LOL

I came home from work this evening, only to find that my air conditioner had stopped working. I called Erkies they immediately sent out a technician named Adam, who had my air conditioner running within the hour. As it turns out, I needed a new capacitor and a motor, the price was right, and the installation time was quick. Adam was so professional and efficient, he provided excellent customer service and made this a comfortable experience. I am so happy and most importantly, cool!

I am writing this review on behalf of my 90 year old friend who had a terrible experience with this company. To sum it up...when her air didn't work, Erkies said she needed and installed a new compressor for $1750, and her system still did not work properly. They then wanted another $5500 and now claim they would have given her credit, although it was never told to her or documented. She had another company fix it for $1285. I left 3 messages for the owner Dane Feldman who never called back. I got a call back from Steve who I made an attempt to settle with and offered to settle for a partial refund; however, he took no responsibility and was rude in the process. I would file with small claims court; however, my friend cannot take any further stress of dealing with this company!!! Beware!!!

I can't recommend Erkiez enough! They have saved us countless times with their prompt and except service. I came home today and our house was at 87 degrees. I called and they had a technician, David, at our house within the hour. David fixed our issue without trying to oversell us on anything but did mention our unit is old and should look into a replacement, again I felt no pressure at all. I will always use Erkiez and you better believe we will be calling them for a replacement in the near future.

Called this company on a whim because my AC was flooding. They sent some one out first thing in the morning. 8-10 arrival and they were at my place by 8:30. Amazing! I've had four AC companies come out for my unit the last five years and was never impressed, until now. David and his partner, the service man, was polite, informative and went above and beyond on fixing my AC, they even cleaned up the water and washed the outside fan. I went out shopping and when I came home, my house was 87 degrees. My air conditioner had failed. It progressively got hotter. I called a friend who had just used Erkies a few months ago. She highly recommended them. I called the company and was given a window of 4:30 to 6:30 pm. They arrived at 4:25 pm!! Adam and his trainee John found the problem, solved it and were finished in a half hour. Adam explained what they had done in language I understood!! All in all, it was a very nice experience. A very negative situation turned into a positive one. I would highly recommend this company.

My 95-year old mother's air conditioning conked out on a Sunday with temperatures above 110 degrees. Definitely an emergency situation for her! In less than an hour from when I called, Josh arrived, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it. My mother couldn't say enough good things about Josh (a ""super nice and capable young man"") and he really was a life saver. I will definitely call Erkies for all my heating and cooling needs, as well as recommended them to my friends.

They were extremely friendly and very reliable. They communicated very well to my wife and I the things that needed to be done and were done. They were here almost all day doing what needed to be done to make the installation fit the needs of the house. We got a mini split added to the master bedroom and we love it. We had an issue the second night and they came first thing the next morning to fix the issue. Very Reliable and helpful.
