I too had a horrible experience with Dion and Elite Rooter. NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!!!!

I had a slow shower drain and had Elite Rooter San Diego came out to do an estimation. Grayson and one of his co-work came and I requested a camera through the shower pipe line and the main pipe line to see what was inside. They told me that the line were dirty that's why the slow drain but never shown me the video of the dirty lines. I requested to hydro jet the main pike line and the slow shower line for a quote of $1000. I believed Grayson and allowed to go ahead with the hydro jet.

At this time, Dion showed up and take over the work. After the hydro jet, the slow shower drain did not fix. I don't know what they saw inside the pipe lines but they did a poorly troubleshooting on the problem. Now I have to pay $1000 and the problem was not fix. Dion assured me that with his 20yrs experience, it's the P-Trap that causing the problem. They need to break a 3X3 floor and replace the P-Trap for $4300 or pay $1000 and nothing fix. He can get the cost finance loan so that I can pay it monthly. 10 minutes later, I was approved for financing loan $4300 on Synchrony Back credit card.

3 days later, I had to call him to come and let me know what is going on. He came by in the evening after coming from another job, he started to focus on the rusted pipe line, not the P-Trap. He said that he have to replace the pine and with his 20yrs experiences, all of the other iron-cast pipe are rusted and they all need to be replace. It's city code that he had to replace all of the rusted pipe after knowing that they are rusted. He gave me a new quote of $20971, this included the $4300. He will canceled the previous $4300 from the bank(He never did). I told him that I can't afford 20 thousand, there got to be another way. He said he'll help me by lower the 20 thousand to $16671 if I would secretly gave him $2500 CASHES.... STUPID ME..& F....ME, I agreed and I signed the agreement to go ahead on the work. 2 weeks later Synchrony Bank disapproved my loan but charged a me bank credit card of $20971. This is the total of $4300 and $16671, he supposed to cancel $4300 but never did. Now I have to pay that amount. He cheated me $2500 cashes for himself and cheated me $4300 to Elite Rooter.

He estimated that it will take 3 to 4 weeks but it took them 2 months from 9/20/2023 to 11/1/2023. They would come for couple of hours and gone for 2 days without any report. I had to follow up so much that I accused Dion that the work is a side job for him. Never keep appointment, always said that missing tool, missing part and don't show up for appointed work day.

I'm process of looking for a legal assistance to help me deal with this group.

DO NOT USE ELITE ROOTER. They don't itemize their work, over price, never keep appointment and don't show up for work.

I originally had Elite Rooter snake the drain for my toilet which turned out to be a temporary fix (not their fault). Had them come back out a couple days later for the same issue and put a camera down the drain. Found out I needed all new drain pipes and scheduled the repair, putting down a deposit and financing the rest. I got a second quote a day later that was much more reasonable and included additional repairs so I canceled the service with elite rooter.

I've now been trying to get a refund for the services not performed for three months. I've called every single week, and each time I'm told by their call center that my issue has been escalated to a manager, the accounting department and someone will call me. I have yet to ever receive a single call or email from them and had to start a dispute over the financing payments I was being charged for.

Once again, they can get someone out to your house, but don't expect anyone to ever follow up with you if there's an issue.

Look elsewhere.

First let me say I have no issue with the quality of the work that was done. Where I do have issue in communication and what felt like a bait and switch (although I was not totally informed).

I needed a really basic service that was not even so bad as to be absolutely necessary. I needed a bathtub drain which was draining slowly cleared. That seemed simple enough. I called 4 companies that clear drains and finally settled on Elite Rooter. Over the phone I was told they had a coupon for $69 dollars to clear a drain. Of course I knew that the problem might be larger (but it was not).

The appointment was set for about 2 hours later. The tech arrived on time. Unfortunately, I was not there (my tenant was taking care of this for me), and I was not reachable during the appointment. The tech informed my tenant that the coupon was not valid.

I wanted to know why the coupon was not valid so later that day I called Elite Rooter and left a message. I received a call back perhaps within an hour. I certainly appreciated that promptness. Over the phone it was explained that the coupon only applied when there is an ""accessible clean out."" In the plumbing world that means one thing, and to me it meant another although I did not see the wording of the coupon beforehand as I was informed about that over the phone. To me, what is more ""accessible"" than the drain in a tub or a sink. I was informed that ""accessible"" does not apply to sinks and tubs (why is that not made clear?). It means some other drainage port. Okay, that was my error for not asking about that upfront (although how was I to know), and yet I wish that had been made clear.

Then the charge for the simple basic clean out was their base hourly rate of $225. I could have had it done for less than half that. I understand they have a base rate, but that rate is high for a cleanout. Had I been there, I would have thanked them for the call and sent them on their way. (They advertise a ""free"" diagnosis.) I wish they had informed me that the base rate was $225 when I spoke with them on the phone. If that had happened, I would have hired one of the other less expensive services. I get that $225 may be their going rate for general plumbing, but for my needs that was too much to pay.

I hope if you have read this that it will help you to know what you are getting into whether with this company or another. Also, the person answering the phone does not have detailed information so if you want to get clear information ask to speak with a tech or someone who knows.

If I could give them 10 stars I would and they deserve it. Called this morning and Melissa was quick to respond and get me on their books the same day. Acknowledged their drain cleaning special during our conversation and scheduled me for 3pm-4pm with a prior 20min call from the tech. Jose showed up right on time, inspected the kitchen drain and ran his 75ft snake in the drain and successfully cleared it. Great technician that got it handled and everything was left perfect once again! Thank you for your services!!

I too had a horrible experience with Dion and Elite Rooter.
My project took approximately 7 mo.started in June 2023. Completed the middle of January 2024.
I will name a few problems.
1. Workers would come work a few hours ,say they had to go get parts not come back that day.
2 .Dion lied to me about a permit. Never got permit until 2 weeks after he said job was complete. Approval from City took 7 months.
2. Dion accused me of having spies report to me on his workers.

in July.This is my first complaint that I have ever made.
During this 7 mo. Of time I had 2 leaks,that had to be repaired.
3.appointments was made 5 times with the city for approval.the contractor had to be there,either they wouldn't show,equipment was not functional, there were leaks,so on the 5th try and 7 mo I got the work approved.
4. Once work was said to be completed,they said the hot water tank was old and they couldn't get it to work.
Wanted to charge me$3000.00 for a tank.
I refused and got another co. To install for $1000.00 less than their quote.
I finally had to put in a complaint with the State of Cali. contractors License Board.
I agree Dion is not truthful,over charged me . I could mention many more instances, that happened,but it would take several pages.
