Short version:
These guys are basically thugs. They misled me about what they were doing, gouged me (5x price of competitors), and got upset when I asked any questions. Seems others have the same issues given their multiple closed Yelp accounts...

Longer version:
Two guys came into the house to look at the air conditioners. After claiming they would ""plug in the gauges"" and take a look, they filled up the unit with $1,000+ of refrigerant without asking me if that was ok.

Then, they tried to gaslight me into thinking I had given them approval. The price they quoted for the refrigerant was a roughly 30x markup over wholesale, and 5x higher than competitor A/C repair companies are charging (I got quotes after).

They got upset and aggressive, raising their voices when I pointed that out. I asked them to remove the refrigerant. They refused and said it would be an $800 charge to remove it. After a lot of hemming and hawing, they said they would ""cut me a deal"", and charge me ""just"" $900, but only if I paid in cash right then and there, as if that was a favor.

They have 2 other Yelp accounts with similar bad reviews. Apparently, they close them as soon as someone catches on to hide the review.

This is not the type of company I'd recommend to anyone. Pretty ridiculous grifter behavior.

After moving into our new apartment, we noticed a sewer smell in the bathroom and called Einstein's Plumbing to come take a look as suggested by the previous owners. They responded quickly and replaced the wax seal between the toilet and the floor, although at a cost that seemed a bit high. However, after they finished the work, the toilet would rock back and forth, even though we did not sit on it for 24 hours. So I called them and they came to fix it the next day, reapplying the sealant around edge. The next day, the problem still remained and so they came back again to fix the problem. The third time, the issue was finally fixed.

I was also interested in ultimately replacing the toilets in our bathrooms with specific models I had chosen and asked them how much it would cost. The price they quoted was completely outlandish. I ultimately ended up getting the toilets and having them installed for less than half the price that Einstein quoted. When the toilets were installed, the person who installed them noted that a metal plate on the floor was installed backwards. I asked if this could cause the wax seal and smell issues we were seeing and he said it is very likely. The plumbers from Einstein never even noticed this.

Given all of this, it is very hard to recommend Einstein's Plumbing. Yes, they are nice and they respond quickly, but they are extremely overpriced and I question the quality of their work given they had to return twice to fix the same issue.

They are our first and only call when we have a plumbing problem. They've dealt with everything from a toilet leak in the apartment above us to dealing with a bouncy ball in the drain and various smaller problems. Always on time, fair pricing, wide availability of time slots, courteous crews. Highly recommend.

I had a water leak in my basement and could not get a hold of my regular plumber. A homeowners nightmare. I called Einstein's Plumbing and they came right out on a Saturday night and resolved the problem for me. They were fast, reliable, professional and reasonable. They are now in my address book for plumbers for future reference. I highly recommend them!

Called Einstein to snake a bathroom sink drain. Upon troubleshooting the problem the plumber determined that beyond snaking the drain all pipes below the sink needed to be replaced they quoted over $900 to replace the pipe below the sink base ( including the snake and service call) Literally a $15 piece of pipe. I understand professional mark ups and plumbers hourly rates but this is simply beyond ridiculous and clearly the plumber that was on site was trying to take advantage of an 80 year old home owner. Stay far away

Tom did a great, professional job replacing the broken pipes under our sink, even sticking to his original price after it turned out an additional section of pipe needed to be replaced. Would definitely use Einstein again.

I was distraught that the toilet of my main bathroom had again become clogged. This toilet had just been serviced a few weeks before this new overflow incident. Tom Annan arrived right on time. He explained that the previous work had not been thorough. He showed me the specific areas and parts that required attention. He quoted a fair price. I was relieved to cross this emergency off my list. I will certainly contact Einstein's again.

I had Joe came to the resecue. He knows exactly what he's talking about. Took 4 teams from national grid to confirm that joe was correct. If you need someone who can diagnose and fix, he's the one. I am not giving him a 5 star because he charges an arm and a leg, but then I had an emergency and it was the weekend.
