What I initially thought was a great job tuned into a major risk when I learned that this AC company had compromised my home by failing to replace the existing 12 gauge wire with a 10 gauge to support the new 3 ton AC unit. On Thursday, February 13, 2025 - 13 days after the AC install, I receive a call from Martin at E. H. Whitson informing me that he has my electrical quote. I was stunned. What? He then explained that my current electrical panel was not compatible with the new AC unit installed on January 31, 2025. I immediately questioned why this hadn't been addressed at the time of installation. Martin went on to say that the power supply wasn't sufficient and posed serious risks, including frequent breaker trips, wire overheating, melting insulation, potential electrical sparks, and even a fire hazard. I was shocked. I asked him directly: """"so you knowingly installed a unit that wasn't compatible with my home's electrical source, putting my home at risk?"""" Nothing was mentioned on installation day, and no warnings were noted on the paperwork provided to me at the final bill of sale - when I handed over my $8,000 payment. Martin had nothing to say and couldn't get off the phone quicker. Needless to say, I was very upset. To make matters worse, he then had the audacity to offer a fix for the problem they created for an additional $2,075. At that point, I was furious. I called a lawyer friend, explained the situation, and discussed my options. Long story short, my friend recommended Affordable Air & Heat, Inc., who rewired the unit properly for $900. At this point, I firmly believe E.H. Whitson should be responsible for reimbursing me for this additional $900 out-of-pocket expense.

forget these people. I called, scheduled an appointment To replace my water heater. and an hour AFTER the original time they called and needed to come later in the day. all oF this only to cancel because of another job and wanted to schedule three days later( maybe) horrible. they do this because they can. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS.

I called on Sunday at 9am because my hot water heater was leaking badly in my garage. I was connected to the 'emergency plumbing' line and had to leave a message for the person on call. My call was returned at 7am THE NEXT MORNING. Had I depended on Whitson service my garage would be under water. Very poor customer service.

So I had set my appointment on a specific date to check my pool heater that wasn't working, they called me 2 times to reschedule. Not a problem. Then they told me free estimates. When the tech showed up he said my compressor had failed along with another part. Charged me $125 to tell me this after they had told me it was free estimates. To make the long story short they said I had no warranty and wanted to sell me a new system for $6000. I called the manufacturer of my current set up and they said I was still under warranty and sent me the replacement parts. After I told EH that I was indeed covered under warranty they wanted $3,000 just to install those parts. Complete robbery. Got it installed for $400 by another company. BEWARE of this business.

My bathroom valve needed changing. I reached out to E.H. Whitson Services and a pleasant young lady by the name of Ashley, I believe, set me up for an appointment the very next day. The plumber, AJ, was there 5 minutes early. The hole in the wall needed to be expanded and he came back the next day with the necessary tools. He was quick and even let me watch in on the project. They definitely have my business for future service!

TECO requires that you use their contractor to install an energy saving on-demand water heater. This was the person in our area. It was not worth the discount. They scheduled installation months in advance. When they didn't show up, they didn't just come the next business day, they rescheduled me for two months later; when they could not locate a line (I showed them where it was), again, another rescheduling to the distant future, which would've ruined Thanksgiving and the rest of the holidays. I had to telephone TECO to complain about a three month installation of a water heater. That got their attention and they came back. They left the power cord hanging in the breeze. vulnerable to any hedge trimmer and inspection failed. basically, there were five trips for a single water heater installation and they deprive me of hot water in my house for all of that time. Pay the extra $200 and don't go crazy waiting for people unconcerned with timely Service to get around to schedule your house

My building management company hired e.h. Whitson for fixing a gas leak. They were scheduled to come at 12, didn't show up until 330 and then were gone before 530. They showed up the next day and said they fixed a gas leak. They came in my unit and turned on the gas and I told them I smell gas now and they shrugged it off and said it's all fixed. I explained my pet has a breathing issue to please make sure and they assured me I was safe. I didn't trust them THANK GOD and I was lucky enough to be able to bring my cat to my parents house just in case. 10 hours later I got home from work and the smell of gas was so bad, you could smell it outside the front door. Inside was just terrible, I couldn't stand inside for more than a few minutes to gather some belongings and get out. You assured me! You put my life and pets life completely at risk! No regard for life what so ever. The next day, a different guy (same company) came back to fix it. I tried to tell him that I was assured the day before so please please make sure and he was very defensive and """"couldn't comment on the guys work yesterday"""" like um ok I'm trying to just triple check as anyone should because you don't play with a gas leak! Thanks for being so negligent lives were put in danger. Consider yourselves lucky I didn't take your word!

We came home from a trip to find our electricity out. We called E.H. Whitson and an electrician was here within 2hours! Our main breaker needed replacing and unfortunately it meant the entire panel had to be replaced and upgraded, but they came the very next day and did the work quickly and professionally! Not cheap, but extremely competent and pleasant! Will definitely use them again and again!

Horrible thieves. They steal peoples money under the guise of doing work. They wanted $780 to clean the coils of a unit that we had a maintenance contract with. No other company has ever charged that much. They are dishonest and have NO customer service skills. Do not recommend if you are looking for a reliable and honest company to do your AC work. Look elsewhere. THIEVES are in abundance in south florida. Keep looking if you're looking for an honest and reputable company. This is NOT IT.

If you need reliable service in a timely manner, DO NOT use EH Whitson. We have been loyal customers for years. EH did not come out, as they promised, to fix our thermostat. We waited a week. When I asked if they could squeeze us in on Saturday, their response was yes but we would have to pay the emergency fee. So much for loyalty. There are too many other AC companies out there that do much better work and have excellent customer service. Cheers!
