I didn't hire Darren, but read on. When he diagnosed the issue (got on a call, sent photos, etc.), he spent the time to explain what might be happening and what he believes I need. And what I needed he doesn't have. That kind of honesty is unexpected in an industry that is utterly mysterious to some of us, and therefore opens the chance for unscrupulous service providers to exploit. And how many times have we heard of friends who have been taken to the cleaners (pun intended) by repair men?! Darren is a credit to his profession, who is honest, helpful, and informative. I just bought a place in Napa and am glad people like him are here. He made a recommendation and I gladly took it. Next time (and I'm not hoping for this), I hope he can be the one to help. Ed (his dad and former owner) left a great legacy in him and Ed's Plumbing & Repair. Well done!

Promptly called me back when I reached out. Provided an estimated same day service window and then arrived within minutes of the earliest time frame during the holiday season. He assessed the issue, provided a scope of expectations, solved the immediate problem, tested to make sure the fix was solid, added an additional touch up, and showed the deeper underlying issue while provided references to have that inspected, as well as some non-related repairs we were casually chit-chatting about. My little ones were super curious, and he was completely cool with the kids checking out his work. My littlest keeps talking about ""dat cool snake goes into da wall"" will be my first call for future services for sure.

Absolutely impeccable service. I just moved to a new house, and there's a lot of little repairs that I need to get done, but I have no contacts in the area. I took a chance and called Ed's Plumbing.

I called this morning and got a call back within an hour, and got it scheduled for Friday morning. Then, just a few hours later, Darren called back and offered to come by today before heading home.

He arrived quickly and was friendly and professional, he even said hi to my cat. Darren was efficient and got my two sinks unclogged in maybe 10 minutes!

Please keep in mind that Darren takes only cash or check. I had my checkbook on hand, so that wasn't a problem for me at all.

After this visit, Ed's Plumbing is going into my box of repair companies for the future. I wouldn't hesitate to call again!

Ed and his team have been great, from kitchen sink valve replacement, toilet repair and a pipe that broke from an underground bracket. Always reliable, reasonable rates and great service. Thank you for being our ""go to"" plumber!

Great service- tried to troubleshoot on the phone including exchange of photos to avoid in person charge...ended up needing a hands on approach and he showed with appropriate parts in hand and took care of the issue quickly...totally worth hiring! Going to call out again for different issue soo

My kitchen faucet got stopped up somehow on a Friday afternoon. I called Darren @ Ed's Plumbing. Unfortunately St. Helena is out of his service range but he walked me through a simple diagnostic on the phone which exactly identified the problem, so now I can buy what I need at Home Depot or wherever and get my handyman to install it. Saved me money and time. I highly highly recommend Darren and Ed's Plumbing.

This is an updated 5+ Star review of Ed's Plumbing, but even more about the character of Darren, the owner! Yes, I was the one who gave them a one star review last Friday because I was upset with the shortness and incompletion of the drain cleaning of my two sinks, kitchen and laundry. Darren was kind enough to recognize it was a lack of communication between what he does (very professionally) and what I expected him to do. He contacted me because he was concerned and made an appointment to return and finish the drain clean, at no additional cost, even though they were on two separate pipes. I was wrong, but he treated me with respect and kindness! He is a true Napa Original and I am happy to recommend him and his work as my new friend! Thanks!

Darren was amazing! I called him on a Tuesday morning because two of our toilets were not working. He came that afternoon and fixed them both in less than 30 minutes. It was during the SIP, and so Darren wore a mask/gloves and was totally respectful of our home. We are so grateful that he was able to help us during this crazy time AND that he was so efficient and kind!

My kitchen sink backed up- this was the second time in 3 years. Darren fixed it both times. He's quick, thorough, very clear on explaining what happened.

This second visit was during the SHELTER IN PLACE. I SO appreciated him asking if I had been exposed, showed symptoms, etc, before he came & wore a mask a gloves while he was there.
