Wao - the negative reviews here are exactly along the line of what experienced. Again, should have looked it up first.

I thought they were friendly and Wayne, the service guy who came out, seemed nice. They diagnosed the furnace I had needed to be replaced and spiced this diagnose up with some scare tactics - note, Econo Air CONNOT diagnose if it leaks CO (Carbonmonixide) , the gas company does this for free!
Econo Air wrote a diagnoses that claimed ""organic growth"" on the coil and insisted that it could not be cleaned. Well, when he left, I looked into it and it took me maybe 15minutes to clean it. Also, I saw no growth as they ""diagnosed"" - only dust and hair.

However they were very fast with a sales pitch for a new $4900 unit - wait, that is a $1200 unit installed for $2700. Let's say it'd take a day to swap the unit (and it would not!), this is more than I pay my lawyer.

... bad experience. I called Econo Air to let them make up for it (and I wasn't asking for money or anything like this), but unfortunately that was a fruitless attempt.

One star is too good for this company .
Letting one of their Tech in your home is like going to the Car dealership for a oil and filter change ,and having to get the, you also need a trans flush and the fuel injectors cleaned or you could have problems and it will only be $600.
Their techs are yery nice but they are more salesman than techs they just want get you to pay for more than you asked or need .
There are many other better choices out there.

Most important part of this review: Econo Air quoted us 5x MORE than we ended up paying to replace our entire AC unit using another company. That's right, we paid $1325 for the unit, installation, etc. Econo Air quoted us $6500. For that alone, avoid this place!

We went through Costco to have someone check our A/C, which hasn't worked in 2 years. We figured since Costco vets their vendors we would at least get a decent company. In fact, other than Econo Air showing up on time and Tim being pleasant, this was really a poor experience.

Tim checked our system and immediately began suggesting ""fixes"" that were really expensive and didn't answer our questions. In his ballpark estimate, a full replacement would be $6500 and to replace the compressor, which he said was the problem, would be $2800. He then described how he'd replace the whole ceiling component on the inside of our house, but really (as I've found out after getting quotes from other vendors) that is purely aesthetic since there is nothing wrong with that part of our system. The whole time he didn't explain anything thoroughly or with care, choosing instead to play the ""I'm an expert you should listen to me"" card. It was pretty condescending.

Also, he answered his cell phone for a non-work related call, which I find completely unprofessional. At the end of the meeting, I asked for a written quote on the things he mentioned and you'd think I told him I was from outer space. He seemed flustered and told me that he would email it to us by Monday. We've received nothing from them and wouldn't use them if they did get back to us. Thanks to this experience, we decided to get several other quotes. Looking back, this whole experience was amateur hour compared to the other companies we've had out. The guy was here for barely 10 minutes.

P.S. Did anyone else notice the ridiculous number of filtered reviews? There are 60+ positive reviews filtered from reviewers only writing reviews for EconoAir (aka one hit wonders)... it is highly suspicious, if you ask me. Maybe EconoAir should start providing quality customer service instead of making up fake Yelp accounts to pump up their ratings. Unethical Yelpers! Wish I had checked Yelp before having them come out - shame on me!

Well, I read a review stating that the employees fail to communicate among themselves. That is TRUE. The customer service people and the technicians do not seem to communicate. The managers do not seem to follow through with what they promise.

I used this company because I had seen them at my local Costco and remembered their name. I went to their website where they had a special Tune Up promotion for $69 (normally $109). I called and set up an appointment. I mentioned that only two days prior a piece of the HAVC in an indoor closet had started making a loud noise and would not shut off after 20 mins. It rarely comes on but when it does it is for only a couple of minutes and then turns itself off. Anyway, I unplugged everything to stop the infernal noise. The A/C still worked, just the condensat pump made this loud noise. Wayne, the senior technician arrived the next day and I mentioned the noise. I opened the closet, plugged everything back into the power and he immediately pointed to the condensat pump. He didn't have to spend any time at all in diagnosing the problem, it was pretty loud and anybody could have pointed to it. Anyway, he replaced that and then unknown to me proceeded to replace dual capacitor on the condensor unit outside and charged $88. So what started as a $69 tune up ended up costing $575, $437 for the pump. When I looked around for the parts online they cost no more than $50 for the pump and $30 for the dual capacitor, exactly the same in every detail and specification. Wayne was at my house for no more than one hour.

When I called the office, I spoke to Brian, the service manager, who tried to persuade me that's what they charge in case any work they do creates a leak and damage, they had to cover themselves. They said car dealers do the same when they service a car, they add some padding. Well, in all the times I have had my dishwasher serviced, water heater replaced, faucets replaced not one person has overcharged by the amount Econo Air did. I also spoke to Raul who told his company has to cover the cost of their building, people, vans, etc. I told him that was the cost of doing business and they shouldn't INFLATE their PRICES and OVERCHARGE customers to cover those costs. He wasn't willing to listen. Both Brian and Raul had different stories for why they charge so much. I told both Brian and Raul that I would be willing to pay reasonable charges but definitely not $575. I would pay no more than $250 for the parts and labor.

Sadly, instead of Brian or Raul coming to a compromise, they have lost a customer, I will definitely not use them again, I will be reporting my experience back to Costco and will not recommend them to anyone else, in fact the total opposite.

I have had the most terrible experience with this company and would not use them again. I would give them no stars if I could.

What a lousy company. The install when really well, but everything after the fact is a joke. Always trying to upsell you. Won't let you speak to the owner. Says owner won't bother to call you back unless you tell them everything. I asked whom I was leaving the message for Mike Richards the owner who is out in the field and she said Operator. I asked for her name and she refused to give it.

Then I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. She transferred me to Marco and Marco wouldn't give me her name and wanted to solve my problem. Frustrated I hung up. Marco called back to argue with me and said that I would never hear from the owner that is why he hires managers. Incompetent ones at that!

Not to mention they cut our roof and when the roofing company came to see what they had done they said that it was done wrong and would eventually leak. When I called about the problem they came over and said they fixed it after I specifically asked them to coordinate it with the roofers schedule so it can be done right. I guess we will be in court when the roof leaks and causes damage to your stuff. It wasn't fixed properly. What a mess!

Can anyone recommend a good company that can service and change their filters. I will never use them again.

I didnt check Yelp before I called them and was stunned at the bad reviews!!!
I had Econoair come out last tuesday to diagnose my furnace. The customer service was very nice and accommodating (Jessica) and the service man Wayne and the manager, Buck were very professional! They charge $69 to diagnose and they can put that $69 towards any service or product you have them install. The furnace prices that they quoted me seemed pretty steep-- $3500+ but I dunno maybe they cost that much! I

Econo Air recently installed a new zone heating and air unit in our home. This company is obviously dedicated to honesty, integrity, and customer satisfaction!! From the estimate to the installation, the employees were polite, professional, clean and hard working. I can't recommend this company enough if you have any heating and air needs. We have also used them in the past for maintenance of our old system, and were equally as happy with their service department and all company representatives we interacted with. Joni E Orange

I haven't used them in five years due to the incompetent service people they sent to repair my central heat/air over and over again. Now they REFUSE to take me off their phone call list even though I've asked them to be REMOVED nicely and spoken to the owner about it. They always say they will and then I get MORE phone calls, like I just did five minutes ago. What do I have to do, get a court order?

Econo Air installed my HVAC a few years ago. It was the worse experience I've ever had. It took them one year to get the final inspection done. Hopefully they have new techs now -- the ones that did my job were terrible. I would not recommend them to anyone.
