You would have to be crazy to pay this company to warranty your appliances. They steal from the elderly. They never actually fix anything, and when something is unfixable they will never replace it.

Called this company because my AC was cycling every 10 min. I was told the service call would be $45 and any repairs would cost more (understandably). To change a setting on the thermostat, my final bill was $135!! There was nothing wrong with the AC and supposedly the bill was to diagnosis the issue and fix the thermostat. The $45 should have been to come out and diagnose, but then you are going to charge an extra $90 to fix a thermostat setting that took you 10 seconds to do?! Total scam. The tech was a nice guy but I feel totally ripped off.

I have an appliance service contract with ECM. The premiums are expensive, and the policy doesn't cover everything. I called them because the ice maker in my refrigerator was making very little ice. A service tech came out and couldn't figure out what the problem was so he called his boss. The boss said it must be a bad circuit board, so they ordered a new board. When they came out with the board, it was the wrong board. They came out twice with the wrong board. Then they called me and said it needed a different board which costs $469, and the service policy only covers $100. So I had to pay them $369 additional. I asked the person in the parts department if I would get a refund if the board was not the problem, and she said, of course. So, they came out again and replaced the board, and problem was still not solved. So, the technician came out again and said maybe you have a clogged filter. So, we changed the filter. Problem solved. I called ECM and said I would like my $369 refunded and they said no because the board was bad in addition to the filter being clogged. I said, please send me my old board back so I could have it tested. They said, sorry, we threw it away. Based upon several other negative reviews, it sounds like I am not the only one who is being scammed by them.

Worst company ever! Save your money and do not use. I had/have a leak under my sink and it took them 4 days to come out the first time. They came out and told me it was the garbage disposal and replaced. I came home from work and had a huge pile of water under my sink. When I called them back, they first told it it was going to be 4 days to come out. I told them no and they came the next day to only tell me this time it was my filter system that needed to be replaced. They told me they would turn off my cold water but I could still use the hot water and would not leak. Yet another lie because once again I had a huge pile of water under my sink. I called them once again to tell them they did not fix the problem and they told me they would send someone out the next day to fix as I was sitting in my car ready to go out of the town for the weekend so I decided to stay to fix this problem and was told they would be installing the new filter system. When the tech came, he was not there to replace the system and was not even a plumber. Needless to say he could not do anything to fix the leak and my sink is continuing to leak and now I have to replace the wood on the cabinet. I am having to pay someone else to come out to fix this problem because ECM can not be trusted, lies to customers, wastes their time, costs them more money. WORST service ever.

21 Point A/C inspection - Tech did maybe 15 of the items on the list. He ordered the wrong part for the UV bulb holder. Another tech came to install a new Coil/Dryer and confirmed the part did not work. Was told ECM would contact me about the correct part. I finally had to call them and was told $495 for a new UV system. The Lennox part is available online for $79, they told me it was not available. Now hoping to get a refund on the incorrect part. They have no email address for customers, no billing department and no way to print a detailed invoice for the $$$ charged on a CC.

having them come again (they were just here in june) to blow the line out again..the machine is a year old and running high (set on 76 and running 79 degrees). At 2 pm I got a call that the te h had an emergency and they wanted to reschedule. I called another company..

I have used ECM for several years. One time I needed a new AC thermostat. I had a programmable one. They replaced it with a no frills ons. Ugh! Now I removed items from my contract and signed up for quarterly payments. They charged me based on the contract they sent before I removed items in one payment telling me they could not undo it. I asked for the owner and they would not transfer me. Lions at the gate. Wow. BAD customer service. I am now cancelling my contract.

While there may be companies that charge less than ECM , the quality of their recent installation was excellent. The installers were very neat and thorough and obviously very competent.
