My bathtub wouldn't drain. I took the overflow cover off, which promptly broke the linkage to the plug because the lever was frozen in place. I couldn't budge the plug out to be able snake the drain. I called Steve at noon and he came back the same day with his assistant and gave an estimate. I approved the estimate and they immediately went to get supplies. They had to replace the whole brass drain assembly as well as the trap. There is no way I would have been able to do that. Steve said he deals with old plumbing all the time and he knew exactly what to do. They finished the job and tested the drainage before the end of the day. I would definitely trust them to do any other plumbing issues in the future!

We had two separate persistent plumbing problems that other plumbers I found on Yelp tried--but failed--to fix. I wish I'd called the expert plumber Steve at East Bay Plumbing first and saved the headache and expense of other, larger companies who often send out very poorly trained ""trainees"" very few of whom are actually licensed plumbers, to do the work.
First, nasty leaking under the sink which turned out to have three different sources in our case--the garbage disposer, a faulty faucet, and a sink drain. Yuck! (Two other ""plumbers"" had tried to fix, but things had only gotten worse)
Then a ""sticky"", very hard to turn handle in the shower/bath. Other plumbers are tried to fix then told us that they would have to hammer through the ceramic tiles on the wall to get inside to fix it and it would be very expensive.. Steve proved them all wrong and replaced the faulty part, fixing it in under 20 minutes.
Steve works like a skilled mechanic--carefully analyzing the situation, never pushing new parts but just providing ""all the facts"" and letting you choose, and providing a full, conscientious estimate and then working carefully and precisely to fix absolutely everything.
East Bay Plumbing is ""family owned""--and Steve is the guy along with his able new assistant. They are highly professional, courteous, intelligent, tidy, careful and precise.
