Earl's Performance Plumbing
Company Overview
Full-service plumbing for homes and businesses. Free estimates are available & emergency plumbing services at any hour.
Earl's Performance delivers plumbing services, plumbers, backflow management, water heater repairs, and emergency plumbing.
Our journey began in the fall of 1998 with a computer, a trusty 1974 Chevy van, and the goal of providing exceptional service. Nicole managed the office while I worked in the field. We knew that by considering our customers' viewpoints, we could elevate our service quality. You want a clean, immediate fix without breaking the bank. This is the standard we all look for when hiring a professional. That’s why we are available to take your calls around the clock, we use booties to safeguard your floors, most of our clients benefit from same-day assistance, we provide upfront pricing to avoid surprises; and should you have a concern with our work, we send a technician promptly, no questions asked.

On Thursday, our toilets stopped flushing and effluence backed up into our bathtubs. We suspected the septic tank was full. Friday morning, my husband called every septic service within range, but the soonest any of them could come out was Monday. We are a household of four including a teenager and my elderly mother - the situation was urgent. One of the septic services recommended Earl's plumbing so we called, and were told the technician would come out that afternoon.
The technician, Steve, arrived at 4:30 pm. It was beginning to get dark so my husband and I helped dig up the tanks. Once Steve had the lids off, he was able to rule out fullness or leach line issues. He said there was most likely a clog in the pipe from our house to the tank. He drained most of the solid waste tank, but his truck did not have the capacity for all 1,200 gallons (he came straight to our house instead of dumping first due to the lateness). He
tried, in vain, to arrange for one of their plumbers to come out that night to clear the drain. Unfortunately, none was available. He clearly understood the urgency of our situation and so, even though it was dark and well past the end of his day, he made a valiant effort to clear the drain using a garden hose. At one point, he was hanging halfway into the tank with one of our neighbors holding his feet so he wouldn't fall in. We had flashlights and a spot light set up so he could see what he was doing.
He was not able to clear the drain, but he arranged for a plumber to come out in the morning. He told us he was off on the weekend, but would return Monday morning to finish draining the tanks.
We spent the night in a house that smelled like a sewer; unable to use toilets, sinks, or showers.
The plumber arrived at 7:00 am Saturday morning. To our surprise, Steve was right behind him. He told us our job had been pushed back to Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving). He didn't feel good about the change and so decided to come in on his day off to finish the job.
While they were getting the tank lids off, I noticed the brown liquid in the bath tubs had drained out. Steve asked me to try flushing the toilets. They flushed. Steve explained that sometimes soft clogs will clear on their own once the tank is drained. We are sure Steve's efforts with the hose helped, too.
He finish draining the tanks and quickly wrapped up the job. There was no charge for the plumber even though he stayed for an hour.
Steve provided service above and beyond the call of duty. He was friendly, professional, efficient, and caring.
We were thoroughly impressed with the company (especially Steve).

I don't typically write reviews, but Earl's Plumbing far surpassed my expectations in many ways.
I needed help with a significant plumbing job replacing a sewage line that continued to have issues after purchasing a home less than a year ago.
I had another company look at this and was told there were roots causing a back up. I was told the line would need to be replaced. It took over five weeks of me calling to get someone back out to provide an estimate. When they did come out it was only a verbal quote. I never called to cancel this, but to this day I have not heard back from them.
I say all that because Earl's plumbing was able to come out provide an estimate in writing the same day also found additional issues with the sewer line the other company didn't and with an estimate thousands of dollars less than other place. The technician, Ryan, began working on this project about a week later. The initial timeframe for the job was supposed to be a day. It ended up taking four days total due to unexpected complications with the house.
When all was said and done there was no discussion about increasing the cost even though the job ended up being bigger and much more labor intensive than we had initially thought. I was only charged what the initial quote was.
Also, across the board everyone I interacted with at Earl's was very professional and friendly. This company has really good customer service. It really stands out in a sea of indifference.
I highly recommend Earl's to anyone needing a large plumbing job. I will use their service again.

I called because of a plugged sewer line. The dispatcher or person that answered the phone was very professional and set up the appointment quickly and efficiently.
The communication was great. Following the phone call to set up the appointment, I received a text message verifying the appointment. I then received a phone call when the service man was able to respond earlier than scheduled. After confirming that the earlier time would work for me, I received another text message with the new information including a photo of the service tech.
The service tech was friendly and polite. And clean! He was careful removing the toilet and took care to minimize the mess. He also fixed a leak that was discovered when the toilet was removed. The job was finished in a reasonable amount of time, and he also cleaned up the work area.
In summary: On time, excellent communication, quality work, a bit pricey, but he had all the right tools and parts to fix the problem the first time.

Our septic system backed up last night. I called Earl's Plumbing and they sent their technician Nate out this morning. He was able to run a snake down the clean out and clear the problem in record time. We are very happy with the service he provided!
Thank you Nate!

Hi a plumber named Ryan came to give an in home estimate a few days ago. He verballed harrassed my partner, causing a siezure. He then blocked me physically after getting to close to me and would not exit the house. My partner fell on the front steps, as a result of the siezure, while I was asking the plumber multiple times to leave. When the plumber left I ran through the house to the front and found him injured on the front porch. The plumber saw me holding his hurt head, yet drove away without asking if he was hurt or needed help.
The manager Donny refuses to recognize that this even happened. It did happen.

When I tried getting Rotor Rooter out they Showed up late and didn't have equipment to do the job, had to Fire Rotor Rooter. I then Called Earls They were on it, and showed up ready to do the work. The gentleman that showed up was on time, and very professional. They were a little more than other places but was worth it to get the job done and done right without any BS. I have had Earls out on several other occasions for various projects, and had I realized they did Septic, would have called them first and saved myself a headache. Thank you Earls Plumbing! professional and Courteous. That's how you do business!!!!!! A++++++++

Yay! I love Earl's Plumbing and Nate was exceptional!
Nate is a kind and humorous man and a welcome repair guy!
Thank you Earl's for sending Nate to save my water service today!

Rip Off! They charged $500 for a kitchen faucet replacement about a year ago. I was under pressure to accept the work since it was for a rental and our tenant was temporarily stuck with out water in the kitchen. They said ""lifetime warranty"" on the faucet set up which included the spray hose. Recently tenant called and said no water is coming out of the kitchen faucet only out of the spray hose so it appears that maybe the diverter switch in the spray hose is stuck on. I called Earl's and they confirmed that yes faucet is under warranty and they will send out a plumber to check it out. ""Scott"" calls me and gives me this BS that they can't honor the warranty because there is hard water causing the problem and they ""don't warranty the water."" He says ""$198 to replace the spray nozzle !!! but that will only be a temporary fix since you really need to replace all the piping in the kitchen."" All the homes in the north Chico area have hard water by the way so if Earl's was honest they would tell you up front that their products won't be warrantied because they don't ""warranty the water"". What a freakin joke and a rip off. Will never use Earl's again and neither should you. AND to top it all off my tenant bought a spray nozzle replacement at Home Depot for $9.59 and screwed it on himself in a 5 minute repair job. Earl's wanted to charge me $198 for that on a part that SHOULD have been under warranty.

Just had Steven leave after coming two days in a row to assess the broken pipe issue I had. He and his partner did an amazing job. I will only be using Earl's from here on out. I called yesterday with a broken water pipe spewing water in my yard and within 1.5 hours, they were here and ready to work. This is amazing and they have my business from here on out.

We recently called Earl's out to assist us with an underground water leak at a multi-family property. First they bid us $2,800 to just repair a fully-exposed 2"" pipe (the cost excludes digging - so their bud was just to repair a leak which we identified for them). When we questioned the propriety of the amount they then came back with a lower bid (no change in scope) of $1,800. Right there was our first sign that we weren't dealing with honest professionals. We agreed with the $1,800 as we had no other timely options and their crew stood there for another few hours doing nothing as we cleared enough access space for them to apply the fix (again, they refused to do any digging). Once we excavated enough to their liking they then began working only to inform us they didn't have the necessary parts to fix the pipe as they just realized it was steel pipe where they previously thought it was plastic. At that point we told them to leave. First they tried to extort us with an unreasonably high bid since they knew we were desperate. then they showed other incompetence when, despite the fact they were onsite for hours, they became aware they couldn't fix it. We called the home office attempting to speak with a supervisor when we were informed by the dispatcher that the foreman on site was the highest we could go. We have had them engaged at another property we manage for service - we will be cancelling that service. They did not conduct themselves with honesty and integrity.
