Earl's Performance Plumbing offers plumbing services, experienced plumbing technicians, backflow testing and repair, hot water system repairs, and 24-hour plumbing.

We launched our business in the autumn of 1998 with a computer, a well-worn 1974 Chevy van, and a vision to deliver superior service. Nicole oversaw the office, and I focused on field operations. We understood that by viewing our business through our customers' eyes, we could enhance our service. You want a clean, immediate fix without breaking the bank. This is what we all expect when we call a service provider. Thus, we answer calls 24/7, we use booties to safeguard your floors, the majority of our customers receive service on the same day, we give clear estimates to prevent unexpected costs; and should you have a concern with our work, we send a technician promptly, no questions asked.

I AM a fan; Robert came out yesterday to help me troubleshoot a problem on the outdoor fire pit for me. We have out of town guests coming and I wanted to enjoy the ambiance by the fire in the evenings - but I couldn't get it lit! Robert identified the problem right away and taught me what to do next time, when he's not there to lend a hand. His knowledge of gas line and thermocouples was timely. Thanks, Robert!

Do NOT hire this company for any of your plumbing needs. They tried charging me over $200 just to repair a toilet! A friend of mine told me of an elderly woman who was completely taken. I contacted another plumbing business, and they shared that Earls has a horrible reputation for this, and after 30 years of living in Chico, believe me you can get quality work done at a much, much better price. I can only hope you heed this warning.

I had miscellaneous problems with the sprinkler system and the kitchen sink. I called Earls Plumbing based on their many positive reviews and I declare, their service was greater than I expected, Jason and Nate went above and beyond my expectations, checking out my entire system, even repaired a minor faucet leak in the master bath at no extra charge. They also found that the pressure regulator had failed, allowing excessive water pressure which would likely cause leaks in the home. Thanks Jason, thanks Nate, you two are a tremendous asset to Earls Plumbing. If I have any future problems, Earls Plumbing is the one I'll call!

What a joke! Over charges! Dishonest!

Said it would cost $2300 for repair our sewer line. Had it repaired today for $900 in just four hours! You do the math!

We called Earl's for an irrigation leak, after we had called a so-called sprinkler expert twice and he hadn't returned our calls. Frank came out, and he seemed to know everything about irrigation systems. He had to dig in the mud, on a very hot day, to diagnose the problem (a cracked 1"" water line) and kept a sense of humor throughout! He came back the next day to do the repair. He also recommended maintenance on our tankless hot water heater, which we hadn't had done in the 10 years we've had it, so we had him do that as well. Frank was personable and efficient, and we will definitely call Earl's Plumbing again.

Had Earls come out to check on the balky tankless hot water heater in the house I just bought in Redding. The service technician was on time and prepared and knew exactly what was wrong as soon as I told him what was going on and he had inspected the unit. He gave me me clear options and prices for extending the life of the unit or replacing it now. He also showed me how to use it in a more effective way now. I elected to do nothing now in the hope that it will die while my home insurance policy is in effect. I was not charged for the house call. I will use Earl's again and recommend you give them a call too.

We have used Earl's on several occasions and have always had prompt and friendly service. They will give you a time slot and a call when they are on their way so you don't have to sit home all day waiting for them. Today Mikey Brooks rescued us from a leak under the kitchen sink. Very personable, left everything clean and got the problem fixed fairly quickly.

Dealing with Earl's plumbing has been a frustrating, expensive and horrible experience. Charged almost $2000.00 to replace a water heater and a copper pipe to my evaporative cooler. A year later I found out that the valve they put in for the evaporative cooler did not function. They came out and the tech said he would have to call his manager because it was out of warranty. Then he berated me that the valve could have been working earlier. He also complained about getting on the roof. Said he would come back by Tuesday (this was a Thursday) to fix the issue. No one showed until Wednesday (without a call). He said he fixed it and then wanted to look at the water heater. However he did not properly close the outside door to the water heating housing. When they offered to come back to fix THAT problem, they were late (again without calling). Now White glove came out to check out my evaporative cooler and found out that there were two leaks left in the pipe (something Earl's had promised to fix). I am glad to be free of Earl's and would not call them again for ANY reason. Arrogant, incompetent and completely told untruths. A terrible experience.

Just had a technician come out to the house because of a problem with our water heater. The tech first told us that the unit was probably 'shot' because of the age of the unit. I asked him how old he thought it was and he said it was stamped on it that it was manufactured in 2008. I told him the unit was installed in 2012. I asked where he came up with the 2008 date...he said 'It's stamped right on the unit', implying we were stupid or something. My wife went to double check...sure enough, it is stamped right on it: 'MFG Date 2012'. This guy was reading the serial number, not the manufacture date. When we pointed it out, he backtracked. At that point he said he would try and check the pilot light issues...why wouldn't you start with that??? I guess these guys try to go for the most expensive fix first.

Anyways, he quoted us an INSANE price for a thermocouple replacement (OVER $250) but said there was no guarantee that was the issue! FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE AND THEN GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE!!!

What is wrong with companies like this? Do they really think consumers are that stupid?
