I had Duncan out for an estimate to replace a garbage disposal several months ago. The guy sat on my kitchen floor and verbally quoted about $750.00. I was shocked and laughed and ranted and asked ""really, how much?"" as that was OVER the top. He then said $350.00. I couldn't get him out of the door fast enough! SENIOR'S, BEWARE. Get more estimates.

I ended up paying someone else less than $150.00

Duncan pluming didi a great job with our failed sump pump and replumbed all our lines. Dave did a great job and the pump is more quiet than it has ever been. It's nice to know too that Duncan stands behind their work and that if we had an issues, they would have been out quickly to resolve it.

Poor experience with this plumber.

While the front office / dispatch ladies were courteous, when I talked to the plumber who had worked on similar units in my complex about the kind of work he had done in other units, he mentioned that it was ""None of my business"". These are hydronics systems (hot water used to heat air) and not too many plumbers deal with these systems.

Given the rude response, I decided to stay away.

I had a very poor experience with Duncan Plumbing. I had a leak under my kitchen sink and put in a service call for someone to take a look at it and give me an estimate. The individual who showed up, told me that I needed two different things replaced - a hose and the kitchen faucet. He replaced the hose without giving me an estimate, and then when he told me how much it was, it was much higher a price than it should have been (after checking several other places). He then told me that not only did I need the faucet replaced, but I needed another part replaced. When he quoted me a price for the replacing the faucet, it was over $700. When I expressed surprise, he said that replacing a kitchen faucet can take up to 4 hours.

I checked with several other places, including looking at a Home Depot do-it-yourself video of how to replace a kitchen faucet, and found out that the average kitchen faucet replacement cost should run no more than $125 plus the cost of the faucet.

I will never use Duncan Plumbing again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Duncan Plumbing sent a friendly and efficient worker named Dave to replace a failed sewage-sump pump, which is probably not anybody's favorite job. Service was reasonably close to punctual, and Duncan's friendly dispatchers kept me informed of the minor schedule slippage. A couple surprises had to be handled during the replacement, but no charges were added to the bill.

When I first submitted this review, in November of 2011, I left off one star because I was a little horrified at how much it ended up costing, although I confess that I haven't had much experience with plumbers' charges in recent years, and in Duncan's defense, Duncan told me up front what it was going to cost and charged me $10 less than what they predicted. For the numerically inclined, the bill was $1095, comprising (according to a subsequent phone conversation) $488 in parts and materials plus 2.5 hours labor.

Update from 11 months later: The check valve installed last November somehow developed a hairline crack that leaked at a drip ... drip ... rate. Duncan Plumbing sent a plumber out within a few hours, replaced the check valve, and said, ""Warranty work, no charge."" No hassles; darn decent.

Eric came promptly, accessed the problem, rodded the drain, and showed me with his camera the condition of the drain. Then he provided maintenance option for the future. And the value was well within means. Thank you, Duncan Plumbing.

I am doing a kitchen remodel , and in the process decided to repipe the downstairs of my house with PEX. I called three plumbing contractors and the bids were all over the board. I will say that Dan from Duncan was the only plumber to assess the work onsite and give me a quote before he left, which I thought was more than a fair price. It also ended up being the lowest! The work was very professional and it took them less time then they thought. I would not hesitate to call them again.

When I called I was told a plumber would be out within two hours. It was less than two hours, thankfully. Greg, the plumber was quick to evaluate and estimate the cost, which was reasonable. He also allowed me to shadow him without telling me to get lost, but I did eventually. He fixed and stayed within his estimate, too!

I chose Duncan Plumbing based on the reviews I read on the web. They were top in Plumbing Reviews in my area. I am a fan of these reviews and recommend that customers critique the service, whether it's good or bad and then post it on the web. I've also learned the ""brand"" name plumbers are usually the most expensive and the least experienced: they send out their novices.

The service at Duncan Plumbing is ""As good as it gets.""

Just had Duncan Plumbing out at my place to unclog our kitchen sink. They were the only place that said they could be here in about an hour and half and they were even early! The 2 guys that came out worked fast and got everything all fixed. They were not the cheapest (it was $216 for them to unclog our pipe) but they were fast and reliable. I'm making a cake for a baby shower tomorrow so I needed my kitchen sink working. Doing dishes in the bathtub or bathroom sink is not fun and kind of gross! =)

After calling Surf City plumbing they sent us to Bellows plumbing who was supposed to show up between 11-1 and we didnt hear from them until 4. By that time I had already called Duncan plumbing who said they would be there between 4-5 and they showed up right a 4pm! What more could you ask for??

Greg, the technician was wonderful. He snaked our pipes just to find a larger problem. After talking with my landlord he gave me the go-ahead to get the work done by Duncan.
We called them back and they said they could be there the next day between 9-10. They arrived at 9am on the dot! I was thrilled! And they sent Greg the same technician back which I was happy about.

Needless to say after roughing it for a few days without a toilet Greg was like a knight in shining armour with Duncan his valiant steed. haha
But really, I would recommend Duncan plumbing in a heartbeat! :)
