Dave arrived on time and looked over the job. I needed a water softener installed. His bid was astronomical at $792. I said no I would not pay that much and was prepared to send him on his way. He asked what I would be willing to pay and we negotiated a price. I believe the negotiated price was $340 plus the service call. The work progressed slowly. The quality of the installation looked like it was going well the I heard ""Aw! Piece of crap!"" We wasn't paying attention to the proximity of his work and melted the plastic water filter. He said ""it's a cheap one anyway and they don't work well."" The fact is it was working just fine. He tells me he has one that he can bring with another time as it is getting late on a Friday. He finished the connection and complained to himself during the rest of the time it took to finish. The property owner spoke with him and he promised he would return with a filter. She didn't want to pay at that time because the work was not complete but he said he had to get paid that it wasn't an option to pay later. The next week comes and we set up an appointment for him to return and he is a no show. The office people said they will contact him again and set up another appointment but that has not happened and it has been two weeks. I have soft water but there is no filter. My wife said I should have seen this coming when he tried to overcharge then negotiate a price.

On a Saturday, I had to work until 3pm. Mark and Rich arrived ready to go at 3:30pm. They replaced both my ejector pump and sump pump within an hour. I was not only thankful, as my ejector pump was fried, but taken aback at their efficiency. An hour? Impressed. I've read many comments about the cost. With anything, if you want the job done right the first time, and have their reputation on the line, you're going to have to pay for it. It was a good chuck of change. But, in the aggregate, I know I've got a warranty on both pumps, and each will last 10-15 years. If you want to minimally invest, expect more frequent replacement, which in the aggregate, will cost the same, coupled with the hassle of more frequent replacement. I will recommend this local company. Thank you!

We called around 5:30pm on a Friday because our toilet started over flowing when the washing machine was draining. They showed up in 15 mins, introduced themselves, put on shoe covers, and started working.
Turns out our crappy landlord didn't have a clean out so what we thought was a little problem turned into a much bigger issue.

The guy was here till almost 11pm doing work.
The next day they had to come dig up the yard to make a clean out. They where done in 25 minutes and we haven't had any problems since.

I was a little upset that they left the yard dug up for a week, even after coming and filling in the hole there is a big pile of dirt around the hole. Our yard wasn't anything special but now we have this pile of dirt with a hole in the middle that we will have to take care of.

Everything else was great!

Yesterday, I came home from work to find a bad sewage water back up in my parents' furnace/water heater closet. I called Duane Blanton around 6:45pm. The man on the phone was very nice, respectful and patient with me not even know how to explain my issue! He said they would have someone come out between 7pm and 10pm. He called me back twice to provide me with timing updates. The guy showed up at about 8pm. He told me he would attempt rodding and also provided me with an estimate for that. While attempting to rod, he discovered the drain pipe was actually frozen. However, because of the kind of pipe we have, he couldn't use their usual thawing procedure. So he called the office to figure out what they could do and also to get an estimate. They ended up having to dig up our yard to replace the pipes. He told me they'd send some people out first thing this morning and that's exactly what they did! A group of 3 very friendly guys showed up and they got straight to work. My dad and I watched them working hard and fast the entire time (and in this freezing weather). They were done and had us back up and running by a little after 12pm! They explained to us what they did and were extremely patient and respectful. Great service for sure! Worth the $$$!

I don't recommend to use Duane Blanton to anyone since they tricked me to buy a new toilet on my own so they did not guarantee their work of removing second floor toilet and attempting to rod to clear the clot early this year. They kept trying to get me to pay for their work which already costed me $1100 just to fix a clogged garbage disposal. This was my first time in my life that I had to pay so much for a clogged garbage disposal and to rod a sewer with no guarantee. In Chicago, it costed me only $65 to $75 to rod a main sewer for a 3 flat building. For a clogged garbage disposal, it only costed me few hundreds the most.
Therefore, please watch out their tricks to tale advantage of you as much as they can.
