Our toilet and bath were both having water rise up and it wouldn't go down (we live on the 1st floor of an apartment complex) these guys not only are close but came on a Sunday morning and fixed the issue within 30 minutes of being there. I forgot the guys name but he was super professional and got us back to ""normal"" in no time! Thank you so much!

They came out to emergency clean a plugged sewer $345 cost!
Expensive for 45 mins, but ok, they came on a fri night.


A few days later the pipes are clogged again.
Got charged again.
This is getting quite expensive.
They did a video of my pipe and showed me roots they could take out with hydrojet. They recommended Hydrojetting.
So I did hydrojetting.

Roots removed, but a couple days later the old iron pipe is now broken and has a piece missing.
AND the broken section is under the street, so I may be liable for an 18 - 25k repair taking days if not a week.

Turns out they videoed after the hydro jet. and the video showed that the pipe was broken then.. But they did not tell me.

They should have reviewed the video and told me then so I could have made preperations to fix it quickly.

Instead, again, on a Friday, I am stuck unawares with an emergency broken sewer.
Now rocks and dirt are falling into the line. I may not be able to do a cheaper re-line now, and may have to do the most expensive thing:
tear up the street for new pipe.

On top of this, it is a vacation rental and I had to refund my tenants thousands so they could move out on short notice with extra $ on top for their inconvenience.

An excellent plumber would warn you that hydrojetting a 90 year old iron pipe can result in breakage.

A responsible business would carefully check the video after hydrojetting.
A good businees owner would tell me right away about the break in the pipe so it did not become an emergency and result in me having to eject tenants last minute with all the costs and damage to my own business reputation.

Now I know and I want to make sure no one else goes thru this.
Take advantage of my expensive lesson.

Do NOT Agree to get hydrojetting of old iron pipe for roots.
Hydrojet can make your pipe fall apart.
Use caution with your old pipe. have them cut the roots, and be prepared to do a re-line of your pipe right away if you decide to hydrojet and have very old pipe.

Get a company who is experienced in re-lining or trenchless sewer repair.

Drainmasters does not seem to know this, but you should.

When the other guys couldn't make it less than a week, Drainmasters were there within a couple of hours.

Nate knew exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done, so we made arrangements for him to return the next day with the parts required.

When Nate arrived the next day within five minutes of the appointed time I was amazed. The work was done well and promptly, and at a reasonable price.

I would say Drainmasters will be our first call the next time we have a plumbing problem.

We've been having a problem with our laundry drain overflowing. Had Drainmasters out in August and they cleared the drain but informed me at that time that since my house is of an older vintage the problem was the small diameter pipe (1 1/2 inch). I was told that it would probably be necessary to replace the pipe if the problem recurred. Well, it did. Today, Zach and Ben came to fix that problem. After opening the wall, it was found to be more than expected as the vent was completely unattached and the drain pipe was angled up instead of down or at least level. They took care of it! Thanks guys!
