From a young age, plumbing was integral to my life, as my father worked as a plumbing contractor. After serving four years in the military, I came back home to work alongside my father until his sudden death in 1977. In 1979, I established my own company, Drain Rite Plumbing.
In 1979, I focused on cleaning drains as well as small plumbing repairs. With experience and growth, I studied for and obtained my California plumbing contractor's license in the year 1987. The number for my license is 539285.
A competing business from Norco, California that uses the same name, managed by John Opitz. There is no connection between the two companies. We have held the rights to this name since 1979. Owner and Manager.

I have used Drainrite's services for over 20 years. John and his son show up when they say they will, do the job efficiently and professionally and charge a reasonable fee. As with any professional service, you pay for their expertise, not by the hour. Once, when I was having problems with a shower, John told me on the phone how to solve the problem, saving me a lot of money. Now, I call Drainrite any time I need a plumber. I don't waste time looking elsewhere.
Showed up on time. Charged the amount quoted even though it was a more involved job than anticipated. Honest all around good people! Highly recommend for all plumbing needs.
Very impressed with John Peterson's work and integrity. An explanation of several items that needed to be fixed was emailed to John to get an idea of what it could cost. The estimate came back at over $600. It was agreed, appointment was made and he arrived as scheduled. When he came to the house he discovered that several of the items on the list were much easier to fix than what he had anticipated from how they were described to him. He still fixed everything on the list but the invoice was Less Than Half of what he had originally quoted!! Clean, quick, good work, and honest. Thank you, John!
I feel very fortunate that I found John & company. Our water heater quit working half way through the day. I called a few plumbers referred to me by neighbors but none of them had time to help. I called Rheem the manufacturer and they referred me to several plumbers in my area. I called several that said they would come out the next day and analyze the problem. Then return to home base and have Rheem over night the part to them. I would be charged for two service calls and it would have taken an extra day. None of them had the parts on hand. My last call was Drain Rite Plumbing. John, the owner, said he could be at my home the following morning and he had the parts on his truck. John showed up right on time and he quickly had my water heater going. There was only one very reasonable service charge. You couldn't meet a more knowledgeable or nicer person. I highly recommend John and his company. From here on I will use Drain Rite for all of my plumbing needs.

My husband called Drain-Rite Plumbing to fix our water heater. They came out when they said they would-on time! They were very kind and knew their stuff! They were also very affordable and honest! I would highly recommend them for your plumbing needs.
John and his son helped us solve a problem with a tankless water heater that had been incorrectly installed by another company and plagued us for several years. We now call on them whenever we have a plumbing issue and they provide excellent professional service. They are polite, conscientious and very knowledgeable about plumbing problems.
Robert G.Its funny that I had the same company come out the same day as the last review. But I did commend the plumber for doing such an excellent job. If you have read my past post I usually mention that I take care of most of my parents issues since I am the closest to them, my dad who has worked on machines and been a business owner all of his life thought he could fix the shower that was clogged up, after a week they gave in and asked me to call a plumber. I heard about Drain Rite Plumbing through a friend who said that they were excellent and fairly priced. I do know that any service job such as car repair, or an electrician are costly because you pay for their knowledge and expertise on a job you obviously dont know how to do, so I called and received a very modest quote which made me happy.
We arranged for a time that fit our needs, 5 pm on a friday evening where I could leave work early enough to meet them, I was the last call after hours and they were completely willing to work with me! I couldnt believe how much they valued me as a new customer because they had appts for the entire day. Well the man who came walked upstairs and looked at the shower and the wall. He said its a pretty normal routine job and with old pipes on 50s style housing its pretty common. He went back to his van and brought his machine and tools and began taking things apart. This compressor machine allowed him to go much further up and down 3 different sets of pipes to find the clog. He even climbed onto the roof to check the vent which was only 2inches in diameter so it wasnt going to be helpful, he joked that he shouldnt have said this was going to be a routine job.
He worked on it more and finally was able to clear it, he said it was about 25 or 30 feet into the pipes and pulled so much of my moms hair out of the drain I was embarassed! I asked him to leave it on the side so that she could see and hopefully learn her lesson. He then suggested to pour bleach down the shower every few weeks to help clear any clogs, and is easy and very inexpensive to do. When I asked him about drain o, he explained to me how it wasnt any more or less effective then putting dish soap down the drain since it just lubes up the pipes to loosen the stuff caught on the sides which makes perfect sense. He didnt charge any more or less than he quoted and had a great discussion with my parents even though it was after his work hours.
He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and courteous! I am unsure what the other woman was talking about because when I asked him how his day was he said his only worry was about a potential yelp review, I told him I would put one about my experience as well at the end of the job. I noticed though that her reviews either rave or bash companies, and her bashing outweighs the raves (house wife with nothing else to do). But I do recommend this company for being so full of integrity.
Thank you again Drain-Rite Plumbing! I will definitely be using them and recommending them again.
I just had a water heater installed by Drain Rite Plumbing. My Bad! I should have done my research. Lowes charges 450.00 for the same water heater that I purchased from Drain Rite for 603.25. Im not sure what the installation would be at lowes but i was charged 450.00 for installation from Drain Rite. My advice for home owners. When something goes wrong with one of your appliances. Dont panic. Shop around! IS could probably have saved about 300-450.00 had I done my homework. :(
Had a bathtub plugged up that was not budging no matter what I tried. I was trying to avoid calling a plumber due to horror stories i've heard about and the possible high cost of the repair. I contacted mike diamond for their $99 cleaning and after reading horrible reviews online about them, I decided to call a number my landlord had given me. The company was called ""drain rite"" and when i called, the number just rang and rang with no answer. I did a search for the company and this website was the first one that popped up. Read some yelp reviews and decided to give them a call. Called them around 7:30a and they were here by 10:30 (anaheim to long beach). They cleared the drain in about a half hour, were professional, friendly and did a wonderful job. They recommended replacing a few things HOWEVER, did not pressure me into getting it replaced or gave me a quote. THAT was what really won me over about them!!! I would HIGHLY recommend them to all of my friends and family who are looking for a plumber. They did wonderful work and the price didn't have any hidden fees!! From doing previous contractor work in the HVAC industry, I cannot express how happy I am with the price, service and professionalism of this company. If i could give 10 starts, I would do it without a hesitation!!
We bought a new water heater 4 days ago. It was hooked up incorrectly. One bolt, Yes one bolt incorrect. Drainrite came out and removed the one bolt. Two minutes of work cost us $120.00. I would never refer them to anyone.
