Drain Rite Plumbing is dedicated to home plumbing solutions in North Orange County and nearby areas. We are the preferred option for any plumbing repairs, installations and replacements, remodels along with maintenance requirements.
Plumbing has been a constant in my life since childhood, as my father worked as a plumbing contractor. Once I completed four years in the military, I went back home to assist my father until his unexpected passing in 1977. In 1979, I founded my own plumbing business, Drain Rite Plumbing.
In 1979, I focused on the art of drain cleaning along with minor plumbing fixes. As I matured and gained expertise, I studied for and obtained my California plumbing contractor's license back in 1987. The number for my license is 539285.
A competing business located in Norco, California that uses the same name, managed by John Opitz. There is no connection between the two companies. We have maintained the right to use this name since 1979. Owner, Operator.

Excellent service (came the day I called, within the time window they promised) and fixed my tankless hot water heater within an hour. John Peterson really seems to know his stuff; he gave me suggestions on how to avoid problems in the future and got everything done well within my window of opportunity. Clean, tidy - altogether excellent! Thanks SO much!

Called today and needed fast service because of my Rheem tankless water heater was not working. They came in 2hours after I called. They came and did great work, John Peterson came and was a cool old school dude. Will definitely call them again if I have any problems. They are very easy going and don't try to leave and unanswered questions... Thanks guys!

RUDE, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OVERPRICED
We've filed multiple complaints with the manufacturer who referred him to us (GE)
He attempted to keep parts that we had ordered through the manufacturer valued at over a couple hundred dollars, PARTS DELIVERED TO OUR HOME COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY THAT WEREN'T EVEN HIS AND WEREN'T EVEN USED FOR THE REPAIR!!!!
Never been treated so poorly
Ignored our phone calls and emails...
John the owner hung up on us, worse customer experience EVER
do yourself a favor and find someone else...In my opinion, this guy acted like a crook

I am a really positive person, and am in customer service, I know how customers should be treated...
a week ago the water heater at my moms house needed repair, after speaking to the manufacturer we found it was still under warranty, after explaining the issues they sent us parts valued at around $250 dollars, assuming it would be needed for the repair.
They then referred us a GE contracted/sponsored service repair man(DrainRite)
I admit they did come out in a timely manner, they also were able to repair the water heater, without the use of the parts, and in actuality was hardly a repair at all and more like an adjustment....and while the $125 rate is a bit outrageous we agreed to it. What we didn't realize was that the repairman had taken all the parts when he left the job....no big deal right?!? we'll just call them and tell them so they can bring them back...they didn't respond to the calls at first and finally they did to an email...it said since they have left the service location someone (we) would have to go and pick it up (a bit rude but fine) so we reply ""thank you we will pick it up within the week"" this email exchange happened on a Friday...I contacted him the following Friday to tell him I tried to go this week and couldn't and that I would be by Saturday (the next day) to pick up the part...he says ""No, you have to pick it up today"" i say oh, no Saturday hours?? can i come by next week? he says ""No, if you are not here by 5pm today those parts are mine"" i wasn't even sure what to say...I reply with ""maybe you aren't hearing me right and go on to re-explain how they took OUR parts...he said it didn't matter, I immediately ask to speak with a manager or someone else and he proudly replies that his name is John and he is the owner of the company. So i ask him how was it possible to give me such a strict deadline like this, when nothing was even mentioned in the prior email. I say that is my property and I would like it back. I said I can be there tomorrow 6am if need be but that i cant make it by 5pm today. HE raises he voice and says "" I gave you a week to pick them up if you cant be here by 5pm your out of luck...at this point I can only laugh and ask him what the hell was going on...he took my property and i want it back what the hell was he talking about....He responds by saying he doesn't have time for this and wouldn't discuss it any further. I cave. I tell him look ill be there today but i cant make it by five, but I will be there before 6... he says ""NO"" i laugh again and say so if I'm there at 5:05 i cant get them, he says""YEP"" . I say that this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, I say ""can you ship them to me and I'll pay for the shipping"",(again this is my property we are talking about) he says ""NO"" I tell him this is absurd, i tell him ""so your just going to take our stuff"" he says ""yep,if your not here by 5pm, i don't have time for this and wont discuss this any further"" and he PROCEEDS TO HANG UP ON ME!!! I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO POORLY. THE LEVEL OF DISRESPECT WAS UNBELIEVABLE IT WAS LITERALLY THE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I am a positive person and don't like to put negative energy out into the universe, but i believe this review is a necessary re-action to the horrible way he treated me.

Today I paid $77.50 cash for a plumber name John to come out and replace a Thermcouple on my water heater. My son waited for him while I had to work I came home from work to find my water still very cold I called John and asked him if he can come back out to check my water heater he said no he couldn't and that I should be able to light the pilot myself if it wasn't lit. I am very disappointed he was rude and told me to call the gas company to come check it I am very dissatisfied with his service I Paid cash and am sad to have to give this review Lucy Valenzuela

Both my kitchen and my bathroom sinks were not draining. I called 2 different plumbers and left messages to try and get someone out today to clear my drains. I never got a call back . I decided to look on yelp and I found Drain Rite Plumbing and called them at 1:00pm and they said they could be at my house by 2:00pm . John and Dillon arrived at my door at exactly 2:00pm . By 2:20pm both my sinks were draining perfectly. These guys are very professional. I highly recommend them.

John was Awesome. He was at the house in less than 30 minutes on a Saturday evening. He was very pleasant, courteous, professional and even joked with us.

Very Professional! Very nice! Saved my day! I got them by luck through a referral through GE for my water heater. He was able to diagnose the problem, fix it and get the hot water back on within an hour. Before today I didn't have a favorite plumber, but I sure do now! Thank you John and John!

John & John fit me in with a same day appointment. Showed up on time & unclogged my sewer main. Straight forward, fast service & at fair price - everything I want in a contractor.
