Douglas Orr Plumbing was founded by Doug, who initially worked from the back of a truck with a single assistant. Over the years, the company flourished, employing more than 250 individuals at its peak. The motto that has driven Douglas Orr Plumbing from the beginning is honesty, hard work, and taking pride in your work.
In 2002, Doug retired, and his sons Wayne Orr and Kevin Berounsky, along with son-in-law Chris Behrens, took over the family business. Douglas Orr Plumbing is still a vital part of the service industry in Miami and South Florida.
Wayne Orr, Doug's son, grew up immersed in the plumbing trade. After completing high school, Wayne enrolled in both college and the Plumber Apprenticeship program. After earning his degree, Wayne worked as a foreman, managing several significant construction projects in Miami. Eventually, he moved to the office as an Estimator/Vice President, taking over the company in 2002.
Since 1986, Kevin Berounsky has been involved in the plumbing business as Vice-President and Owner. After graduating from Clemson University in 1994, Kevin joined Ferguson Enterprises in Atlanta. They came out to my house to fix leaky foundation pipes and the guy worked on 2 leaks. He fixed one and the other one he could not fix and made the situation worse. He basically just gave up and charged me $1000.00 and left. Don't use these plumbers!

Had an appointment from 10-2 and I called to make sure and they told me they were short on employees so we reschedule for the next day. The following day I called them at 2:13 and told me that they didn't have anyone coming. Horrible, wasted two days. Stay away!

I had these people working for me 3 times because the building where I work always call them or call them in advance... Worse people /service/professional in the market. The only thing they are good at is : BILLING !!

Horrible experience. They charge fees without telling you when you ask for their pricing. Management is extremely rude and will say the most incredible things to your face. Please avoid

So I must begin by stating that I only review businesses based on good because I like to highlight their strengths and when I feel they have exhibited above and beyond service. I will begin with that. The plumbers and helpers that came to perform the job were courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Any plumbing issue is a problem and they took care of it. Our bill was quite high and so I was told to hold on to my invoices and we would discuss some of the charges at the end of the job. That is exactly what I did. In good faith Douglas Orr did just that and we paid, end of story or so I thought. About a month or so later my credit card statement shows a charge of an additional $800+ dollars. I called them to inquire. I was told that I would have to pay it, however they would get back to me the next day with some sort of discount. Here is the problem: I had no knowledge of this charge, no signed invoice, no invoice AT ALL for that work. I explained that I was under the assumption we had paid for the job in full, from beginning to end. The response I got was """"Oh I thought you knew""""... Long story short, we didn't get a call back, instead I received an email (which was a first) stating i would receive a discount. This email however came about 4 days after the initial inquiry. I spoke with the credit card company and gave them the same exact explanation I gave Douglas Orr. CC Company placed a dispute. we received a letter from the cc company stating they had not received a response from Douglas Orr and were crediting back the 800+ dollars. Fast Forward to today, I receive a call from Douglas Orr. Their story is now twisted. I in no moment disputed the work being done on that day and NO an invoice was NOT left on site. I am disputing the charge and my lack of knowledge of it and the assumption of work being paid in full. I was told I would be sent to collections.... Story developing...

Very bad! They have a pitch and catch with Green Companies manager Pete Rodriguez were they over charge tenants for a commission to Pete and Green Company. Total Rip Off. Charged $300 for a $25 job. Worst of the Worst, making complaint with BBA. Stay away.

Don't use this company! worst service ! they charged $150 visit fee, the technician came and stay less than 5 minutes to check my shower, and nobody get back to me with quote or even minimum follow up!!

Douglas Orr Plumbing... 6 months, 6 plumbers, many, many phone calls, to fix a leak in the toilet and the part that needed to be changed has still not been changed. They say they can come again but we will have to pay (again) because the warranty has expired. Apparently, the warranty expires even though they never fixed the problem in the first place. That's not how a warranty works. Do yourself a favor and do not use their services.

Totally disappointing - poor businessmen. Yes they were upfront but good business folks know when to compromise based on circumstances. Shower lever needed a washer - first visit $135 + $5 parking.. needed to order $3 part, next visit $135.. who in their right mind would pay $280 for an hours worth of work to replace a washer? So I called them to offer a compromise - call it deal for the first $140. and come to repair when in the neighborhood..but no budge.. SO, I called a contractor who was highly recommended - he charged $15 to replace the whole lever and $25 for his time..AND TOLD ME the shower head was also the problem .. he took it off, put it back on and voila problem fixed - yeah! Buyer BEWARE!!!!

Very recent disappointment with Douglas Orr in Miami springs. I live right down the block from them which makes it very convenient. Last year they did very good work on a small job I had and reasonably priced at $99/hr. I walked there the other day to ask if they could look into another couple of jobs, but this time they wanted to charge $150/ hr!! They claimed last year it did not include driving time, but I live right down the block! She said she would need to talk to her boss and would call me.. Haven't heard from them. You would think they would cut local customers in miami springs a break but I guess they are not interested in their community or small hourly jobs.
