I called this morning because my kitchen sink was backed up. I tried to trouble shoot it myself but learned quickly that it was more than I could do. I called Dollar Plumbing and within an hour, Bernardo and Kevin showed up at my door. They were extremely helpful and asked me questions to help troubleshoot the problem once they looked underneath my sink. All in all, they completed the job roughly in an hour and fixed the problem. If I ever have a plumbing problem I can't solve, I'm sure I'll be calling them again. Thanks Kevin and Bernardo!

On a recommendation from a neighbor, I called Dollar Plumbing about 5:45 on a Friday night. I was a bit frantic, thinking I had a burst water pipe in the ceiling as I heard water gushing sounds and had no cold water pressure. After a little back and forth, I was told someone would be there in 2 hours. Al arrived a bit early and spent 30-45 minutes tracking down the problem, which appeared to be on a sprinkler line attached to the house water, which I said I'd take care of (since he doesn't do sprinklers). He made sure though that I understood what he was doing to diagnose the problem. Despite all the time he spent on a Friday night, after hours, he refused payment of any kind. What a guy!

Awesome and professional service! Dollar Plumbing was recommended by my friend when our water heater started leaking. Al arrived in about 30 minutes or less and quickly found our problem. The area of Pleasanton where we live has hard water and that ate through our pipes. Al took care of our need and was very informative on the work he did and was near and clean with his work. I highly recommend Dollar Plumbing for all your plumbing needs!!

Both of my toilets clogged and the sinks, shower and bathtub were also backing up. I called around 7pm and was told someone would be at my house in an hour.

I figured I would be charged for ""after hours"" work or an emergency cost. Nope.

Al arrived about 30 minutes later!

He quickly fixed the problem by snaking the main line and everything worked fine again. It was on the expensive side....$356, but the problem needed to be fixed and it couldnt wait.

Another company I contacted wanted $450 just to come to me house at that hour.

I would definitely recommend them.

Al came out today within 90 minutes of my call. He clearly explained the problem and was able to fix it quickly. He was very professional and I would highly recommend using him. He even told me about the water damage potential under my house that can turn to mold or affect the house structure and gave me Emergency Services Restoration reference to see about removing the water from the area and putting an absorbent there. I highly recommend Dollar Plumbing, I had an emergency over the weekend, had to shut off water to the house, they arrived within 30 minutes, they had to replace the original valve, to do so would require cutting a hole through the living room wall, cut a four way pipe, replace the part and weld the pipe back in, then replace the cut out dry wall, they cleaned up the mess, very professional and polite...

First, this is a review on the company, not the person that provided the service. The person providing the service was very courteous and professional. The issue I had I would think is dictated by the company.

I had a clogged sink which I already took apart the plumbing under the sink and determined was due to a clog in the pipe in the wall and not the piping directly under the sink. I called Dollar and scheduled for someone to come out to snake the pipe. I asked how much (ball park figure) it would be and was told they don't do quote over the phone and that they have to have someone come out to determine the cost. Interestingly, now that I think about it...there is a ""request for quote"" right here on Yelp. How do they provide a quote through Yelp but not over the phone?

The person shows up right on time, again very courteous and professional. Looked at the problem and told me it's going to be $235 to clear the clog with the snake. It's been at least 10 years since I've called a plumber for this type of work so I really have nothing to compare to, but $235 seems very high. I would recommend you call around to compare prices. In any case, since the person is already here and I have no functional kitchen sink, I told him to go ahead.

The real issue I had was when he started putting all the pipes under the sink back, he pointed out that one of the coupling was leaking and I need to replace it. He told me it'll cost $55 on top of the $235 to have it replaced. Keep in mind that this is a part he'd have to put back together whether he replaces it with a new one or not. Therefore, there is NO labor cost since he had to put it back together anyway as part of the work I already paid $235 for. So as far as I'm concerned, the $55 is all parts cost which I knew was way too high. So I asked him to put the old one back (obviously at no additional charge). Today I went to OSH and bought the exact part and replaced it myself. Took 10 minutes and I don't know anything about plumbing. No leaks now. THE PART COST $4.99. Again...$4.99. Did I mention it cost $4.99? Yes, I was going to be charged 11x more than the cost of the part. THAT IS A 1100% MARKUP!!!

I don't blame the person who performed the work. I assume the quotes are dictated by the company. All in all, to unclog a drain and replace a rubber coupling that cost $4.99 at OSH that took 10 minutes for me to do was going to cost me $290.00. Not sure if the name Dollar Plumbing accurately reflect their price. In my case, it would've been 290 Dollar Plumbing. It turned out that it was still 235 Dollar Plumbing.
