Do not use this company if you want quality work done or good customer service. My husband started work with this company in a new installation at the end of May. This was based on the good reviews and the excellent service from the man who came out to quote the work. We were sold a Cadillac system and so far we've gotten a pinto. The installers, quality rep, senior installers and now the quality rep again have been out no less than 8 times. Each time my husband has had to show the installers where work was not done. We got new ducts run that were left pinched and sitting on attic beams. One duct was not touched and was running into open wall space. The system wasn't cooling any better or blowing any more air than our nearly 25 year old unit that was taken out. The customer service rep I personally spoke with and who spoke with my husband was more interested in getting the full payment than addressing my concerns. Her attitude when the issues were explained was poor at best and frankly condescending. This is a no go place as far as I'm concerned and if a zero star was possible I would do that. The quality rep has been the most helpful in this entire process.

As y'all know its been brutally hot so 1 of our ac units gave up the ghost. These folks came out and said it needed a 45+5 capacitor about $40 at HD.
I asked him what the price for the capacitor he said $575 and $185 but they would not waive call fee even though most honest people waive the fee or reduce it. Not here the drive out was $827 for 30 min work. Folks if you will check other yelp comments you will see about their flim flam game. The tech was a very nice and knowledgeable person just doing his job and he said his hands were tied by company policy. I would not recommend them to do anything because of their price gouging

I purchased a property and was told by previous owner that the warranty was transferrable to new owner (me) - Upon trying to get the warranty transferred both the prior owner and I were told that the warranty was NOT transferrable... although the prior owner had been told so at time they purchased the unit -
First I was informed that it was not transferrable due to the unit being a 'commercial' unit.... Seemed odd that a property that is less than 1200 sq ft would require a commercial unit so when I asked what made the unit 'commercial' was then told 'well, it wasn't really commercial but a special order' - Rather than apologizing for giving out misinformation when the unit was purchased by claiming it was warrantied when it wasn't, this individual went on to say it wasn't Doc Cool's fault that they hadn't understood that the unit would not be warrantied.... The person I was speaking with at Doc Cool repeatedly said 'How is this our fault?' .... Were they implying it was the purchaser's fault for believing their claim that they made?
It just seems that if a reputable company makes a false claim, knowingly or not, they would honor their claim.... and take a chance that the product was a quality product that would not break down for what is not a significant time left on the warranty -

These guys installed my AC system and maintain it annually. They do a great job and also take the time to remind you of upcoming required services. Their appointments are given as a window and you are given a final " I am on the way" 30!minutes before they arrive. Great service!

They damage your ac and tell you it needs repair. I have the service contract. My ac works fine before they come in. Mysteriously, they find something damaged like a cut wire, a low freon. They tell me system is old, it needs to be replaced. It will cost more to repair it. I even saw someone releasing the freon then he told me my Freon was low. I asked him why he released some freon. He was surprised that I knew, so he recharged it and told me it was not that low, so he did not charge me. I then found out much later that what he did was illegal (releasing the freon). Watch those techs like a hawk, otherwise they will damage your ac and then charge you for repair.

I called the company on August 30th because my A/C has stopped. Technician came could not find any issue. I asked technician if the circuit board can be changed, he said no, the whole unit needs to be changed because it is old over 23 years old. He did not check the electric box for the unit. The A/C started working without the technician help.

On September 8th, the A/C stopped working again. Technician came. Started the A/C. Charged for turning the switch on 49 dollars.

Few days later the A/C stopped working. I called an electric company and the company found the electric box wires above/next the compressor was loose.

I am asking refund for the 2 times charges. Thanks

The entire team at Dr Cool & Professor Heat were amazing. Sakis, the engineering tech surveyed our existing system thoroughly and listened to my concerns.(noise and hot areas in the house) He calculated the heat load on our house after getting our input on what our comfort temp was and took into account our building's structure, insulation level, and windows type. He gave us a quote on a new AC/ Heating system with an innovative solution to address our problems with cooling/heating our East/West facing 3 story town home quietly and evenly; and explained everything that they would do, how long it would take and what to expect. None of the other companies that I got bids from wanted to do anything beyond just replacing my system with another one just like it (only 20 years newer). Putting in an energy efficient system was important to me because we plan to live here long term. Sakis quoted a heat pump system that has one of the highest SEER ratings and qualifies for the maximum federal tax credit, which made it very cost effective. It also has the most impressive warranty out there. The installation crew (Paul, Joseph & Michael) did a great job -they even left my attic more organized than they found it! They were careful to clean up each day before they left and coordinated taking out the old system and putting in the new one with just a few hours without AC. They balanced the flow to the 3 stories by adding additional registers / vents and air returns. When they were finished, we had an issue with the thermostat not controlling the temperature very tightly.
Brandon, the service manager came out promptly and took care of that problem. When they were all done, we had a system that is so quiet and efficient , I have to go outside and look at the fan to see if it's running!

Used this company for years. I had signed up for maintenance contracts on 3 systems at $185 each. Had my annual maintenance performed on my house which has an R-22 system. DR. Cool and professor heat had been to this house before and recharged the system in the last year. During the maintenance inspection the tech thought the system maybe low on R-22. But they forgot to bring R-22 on his truck. He said "sorry its the only type I don't have, we'll have to call another truck to bring some R-22, one tech must have taken it all." Tech called the office and said they were going to charge me another service call to bring a truck with R-22 that could recharge my A/C again. I asked "Why do I have to pay a 2nd service call when you forgot to bring R-22 and you had been to my house before and knew it was an R-22 system." He said Sorry, its company policy we always charge a service call when we roll a truck. I said its not my fault you didn't bring the tools you needed to do the job, and you have every other type of refrigerant on the truck, just not the one I need. So they wanted $80 for a second service call, and $380 a lbs for R-22. Retail price on R-22 is $50lbs, see link below. So Given they wanted $500 including tax to add 1lbs of R-22, and they had already charged me $185 to check it. I said I'll shop around, as this was going to be a $685-$1000 adding of 1-2lbs for R-22 They are not price competitive and will show up un-prepared and then charge you nearly an 8x markup on parts. I suggest you shop around. https://www.refrigerantdepot.com/product/r-22/?gclid=CjwKCAjw_MqgBhAGEiwAnYOAepTyDx0tGM7IIAZMNUEOMoKKhNahIAn2WSd05sTrfpvlYQwpX7usqxoCn2kQAvD_BwE

I'm sure the owner will leave some feedback to try and make it look like its the customers fault and they're sorry but its company policy to charge 2 service calls for re-charges, when we neglect to send our tech out with your parts. They have lost a lot of business as I was going to hire them for plumbing work, service contracts and etc. They have lost all of my business.

I needed my entire AC/heater system replaced, and I contacted 6 different AC companies for quotes. In the end, Dr Cool Professor Heat stood above the others in terms of getting a quality system at a fair price with a great warranty and customer service.
Sakis came to my home, examined the old system, and took measurements to make sure I was getting the right size system. He listened to my concerns and patiently answered any questions I had, and I had many. He thoroughly explained why I was having issues in some parts of the home and what could be done to correct them. What made Sakis stand out from the others is he was listening to what was important to me. Best fit is how I would describe the system he recommended.
For the install, I had Andy, Joe and JR followed later in the day by Kevin and Matt. They were professional and friendly and answered any questions I had. They did a fantastic job and finished faster than I expected. The work they did is clean and professional, and the system performs well. Sakis came out the next day to perform a quality inspection which was a nice touch.
I made the right decision choosing Dr Cool Professor Heat.
