I too had the unfortunate experience of David Neff being dispatched to ""fix"" my plumbing issues by First American Home Warranty Company. David came out on two different instances. The first for a clogged sink, in which his solution was to push the clog from one sink to the other on a shared line. The next time the pilot light on our water heather came out in addition to the 2nd clogged sink.
He cleared the sink and now the tub doesn't drain correctly. According to him 40 min to drain a bath tub is ""industry standard"".
He also stated the pilot light unit would need to be replace and the work was not covered under warranty. We reluctantly agreed to pay out of pocket as we desperately need hot water back in the house after going on 2 weeks. The receptionist stated he would be out between 8-12 Monday. At 7:52 am, after taking the morning off, his secretary calls to state he would not be able to make it out until between 2 - 6 pm.
He comes to replace the part only to state that now the entire water heater needs to be replaced. But he would be charging us for the pilot light + labor as well as the new water heater. When I questioned him he got angry and was very condescending towards me ignoring me and attempting to only speak to my husband. When I finally got him to state a an out the door price for the issue to be resolved he gave a price that was $75 more than what was originally quoted. I even agreed to that price and requested a bill as I wanted to follow up with the warranty company. He became extremely angry and then refused to the work stating he would be calling his attorney to place a lien on our home for $175 in labor he wanted to charge.
In addition to the stuff above I also caught him in lies when trying to prove his point, ie he was standing right there when his receptionist gave me information only to turn around and say well she gave you wrong information, when I countered well if you were standing right there why didn't you correct her? He had no answer. Orin one breath he stated he said xyz then a second later say no I said abc.
THIS GUY IS BAD NEWS STAY FAR AWAY!!!! Unfortunately I think I'm going to be dealing with the defects of this horrible referral for while.

DN Plumbing was the contractor that was sent to me by First American Home Warranty, since our water heater that wasn't working. The technician from DN Plumbing diagnosed and told my husband that he was going to order a part for our water heater on Dec. 19th. My husband offered to pay expedited shipping since we have two children and I was carrying hot water that I heated from the stove to their bath tub. I called DN Pumbing several times and was told that the part would be delivered by the following Wednesday or Thursday (Dec. 26th or 27th) of the following week due to the Christmas holiday. On Monday, Dec. 31st, I received an email with an advance shipment notice from Rheem Manufacturing that the part would be shipped via Federal Express. I then spoke to a representative at Rheem where the part had been ordered and was told the part had just been ordered Sunday, December 30th, which indicates to me that I was waiting for a shipment the previous week that had not been ordered. I called and spoke to representatives at First American Home Warranty and explained my disappointment and concerns. The part had arrived and I requested that they schedule DN Plumbing to come and make the repairs necessary as soon as possible. At this point my family and I had been without hot water for over 2 weeks. DN Plumbing told the representative the earliest appointment was for Friday Jan. 4th. I unfortunately was not surprised that that was their response to a situation I find to be frustrating, and inconcievable. The technician from DN Plumbing arrived today on Jan. 4th and finally repaired our water heater. It appears to be fixed, but left the work area a mess. He left red stains on my hardwood floors as well as my wall and door frame.

David was prompt very conscious of the job at hand, got right to work diagnosis of the problem and fixed the drain quickly. I would use him as well as recommend him for plumbing.

Unprofessional company with inadequate staffing. I would try to avoid them at all costs. They dont care if they inconvenience you. They dont work with you in regards to time frame.

Terrible Service, I just waited from 10-2:00 for the 3rd time! He still has not shown up! Awful, avoid like the plauge.

If I could give David zero star, I would. He came out to my house on a home warranty repair. I have 2 leaks under my house. When he came out the first time I was not home. He claimed to have checked under the house and found no leaks. I called my home warranty to explain that I have 2 leaks and proof of it (2 photos). David came out again. I could already tell he was upset by his tone of voice with me. I have two crawl spaces, I am not sure he checked both. Well, he proceeded to check the second crawl space. I check on him and found that his idea of checking is to open the crawl space cover and peek in. Luckily, for me, I took a photo of him doing so and stood by. When he came out he said he didn't find a leak. How do you check a 2100 square foot home from a crawl space opening?
I showed him the photos again and asked him where it appeared to be leaking and he said the pipe looked like a bathroom. I asked him if he checked all three bathrooms and he said he only checked two. I asked him to check the third and he refused. He said I am not an inspector and if your home warranty wants to pay for me to do it, I will. He was unprofessional, condescending, and plain old rude. When I asked for his name he said he is the owner. Do not hire this man!
Follow up: See his response. He says ""we"" could not find any leaks. It was only him. You failed to check all my bathrooms. Don't apologize, do your job and do it well. If you would have truly checked for a leak, then you would not have to apologize for your actions. If you were truly sorry you would have checked the 3rd bathroom and not refused. Again, I am disappointed by your response, but it was expected considering how you acted toward me today.

I have to agree with all these negative reviews on here. Horrible horrible service! I had an appt on Friday that was supposed to be from 12 to 4. I requested a call in advance atleast 15 min ahead so I can have someone go there which lives 5 to 10 min down the street. I get a call 11:52 . Which is clearly not 15 min advance call. Then the office calls me that he has been there... I call David at 11:57 to tell him mother is on her way to give her 5 to 10 min. He literally left after the 5 minutes . Which he started counting before my 12 appt. He left probably around 1203pm because my mother arrived at my House at 1206 when I removed the house alarm. Was it really going to hurt you to wait 3 more minutes. 6 minutes pass my appt time. Not my fault you arrived way before 12. Then to top it off, I told their office to give me the first appointment for the Monday she said okay 10-2. I gave them a courtesy call this morning that I need to reschedule since nobody will be home. And she said I was not even on the schedule!!!!

David came out and resolved our water heater problem quickly. We should have hot water soon.

Toilet started rocking and when removed was found that wood around the toilet flange was rotted. When plumber arrived he looked at the toilet and plumbing and said that he would just need to use longer screws with washers to secure the toilet; said that the rotted wood would not be an issue because he could just place washers around the screws. However, the longer screws he didn't have and would need to get from their supply warehouse and that we would get a call on Friday or Monday to schedule them to come out and repair. On Monday got a denial of claim from the insurance company because the plumber reported they couldn't diagnosis the problem -- although they inspected the area and were going to order parts. Called and left the plumber a voicemail to which they have not responded.

I'm starting this review like any typical bad review... IF I COULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS, I would. Called my insurance company regarding a broken water heater and they sent out these guys. Worst experience ever. 2 hours and $175 dollars later, nothing was fixed. I believe we had the ""pleasure"" of dealing with the owner who came and attempted to fix the heater. He changed some parts but nothing was fixed. No hot water. I have 2 kids, ages 5 and 6, that can't shower because there is no hot water. Horrible service. Avoid them at all costs. CROOKS. It's no wonder they have so many one star reviews.
